On the eighth and ninth day of Navratri festival, there is a ritual of worshiping the girl child. In India, where on one hand the incidents of female feticide and rape of women are at their peak, on the other hand, you will see the custom of worshiping girls contradicting each other to a great extent. But India is probably the name of this where devotion and faith is above every religion, religion and social factors. In today’s episode, we will know why and how Kanya Puja is done on Durgashtami and Navami.

Girl worship has great importance during Navratri festival. The devotee’s Navratri fast is completed only after worshiping the nine girls as the reflection of the nine goddesses. Maa Durga becomes happy just by giving her dakshina according to her ability and gives her desired boon to the devotees.

On which day should the girl child be worshipped?

Some people worship girls on the day of Navami also, but it is best to worship girls on the day of Ashtami. If the number of girls is 9, then it is not very good, otherwise even two girls can work.

First of all, feet of girls should be worshiped with milk. Akshat, flowers and kumkum should be applied on the feet. After this, everyone should be offered bhog while meditating on Bhagwati, that is, everyone should be given prasad to eat. Most people give halwa-puri as prasad on this day. When all the girls have eaten the food, they should be given something as Dakshina i.e. gift. Then one should take blessings by touching everyone’s feet. After this, they should be sent off with respect.

What is the age of girls in Navratri festival?????

It is believed that a girl child between the age of two to ten years is the symbol of Shakti Swarup of the Goddess. The age of girls should not be above 2 years and not more than 10 years. Two year old girl Kumari, three year old girl Trimurti, four year old girl Kalyani, five year old girl Rohini, six year old girl Kalika, seven year old Chandika, eight year old girl Shambhavi, nine year old girl Durga and ten year old girl A girl child is considered as Subhadra. Following are the mantras to greet them. Kaumatryai Namah: 2. Trimurtyai Namah: 3. Kalyanyai Namah: 4. Rohirnyai Namah: 5. Kalikayai Namah: 6. Chandikaryai Namah: 7. Shambhavyai Namah: 8. Durgayai Namah: 9. Subhadrayai Namah:

Let us now learn in a sequential manner what is the form and importance of these goddesses: In Hinduism, a girl of two years is called Kumari. It is believed that by worshiping it, sorrow and poverty ends. A girl child of three years is considered as Trimurti. Worship of Trimurti leads to the arrival of wealth and welfare of the entire family. A four year old girl is addressed by the name of Kalyani. Worshiping Kalyani brings happiness and prosperity. A five year old girl is called Rohini. Worshiping Rohini makes a person disease-free. By worshiping a six-year-old girl child, knowledge, victory and Raja Yoga are attained. One gets wealth by worshiping a seven year old girl Chandika. Worshiping eight year old girl Shambhavi leads to victory in debate. A nine year old girl is called Durga. Durga is worshiped for the purpose of accomplishing a difficult task and suppressing the evil. A ten year old girl is called Subhadra. Worshiping them gives happiness in both the world and the hereafter.

For the worship of girls on Navratri festival, the number of girls 7, 9 or 11 according to the wish is filled with sweat. It is a simple matter, until the society does not allow the girl child to come into this world, then from where will she get to worship.

In India, where the girl child is worshiped as a goddess, today most of the crimes are being committed against the girl child. As such, in a society where girls are not given protection, proper respect and place equal to sons, it has no moral right to worship girls. But this is our old tradition which we are following and some people are probably carrying. As long as we don’t consider girls to be real superpower, i.e. the prasad of the Goddess, till then the worship of girls will remain just a sham.

The truth is that in the scriptures, the law of girl worship has been made only to establish its importance in the society.

It is expected that the Navratri festival of faith and our tradition will also draw people’s attention towards the declining number of girls in the society and in the coming times, cases like female feticide will decrease in the country and the safety of women will increase.
