, The day of Dev Deepawali Kartik Purnima has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. On this day the deities descend from heaven and come to earth to donate lamps, hence this day is also known as Dev Deepawali. This festival is celebrated on the day of Kartik Purnima, 15 days after Diwali. Ganga bath, worship, havan and lamp donation program is done on this day in Dharmanagar Kashi. The entire Kashi is decorated with lights and the ghats are lit by lighting lamps. A large number of people come to Kashi to see this beautiful sight. There is a legend behind celebrating Dev Deepawali in Kashi. According to the legend, Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, killed Tarakasura and returned the gods to heaven. After killing Tarakasur, his three sons vowed to take revenge on the gods. He did penance to Brahma and everyone asked for a boon each. In the boon, he said that he said that when these three cities come together in Abhijit Nakshatra, then only a person can kill them without getting angry with the impossible chariot, impossible arrow. Considering this boon to be immortal, Tripurasur started creating terror and atrocities and he also expelled the deities from heaven. The troubled deities reached the shelter of Lord Shiva. After reaching Kashi, Lord Shiva made a chariot of Sun and Moon and killed them in Abhijit Nakshatra. In this happiness, the deity reached Kashi and donated a lamp and celebrated the festival of Dev Deepawali. Another belief about Dev Deepawali is that on Uthani Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu wakes up from the sleep of Chaturmas and meets Lord Shiva on Baikuntha Chaturdashi. In this happiness, the deities come to Kashi and light lamps on the ghats and celebrate happiness. Special aarti is organized in Kashi on this occasion. “Jai Jai Shree Radhe”
