॥ इति श्रीगोस्वामितुलसीदासकृतं श्रीरुद्राष्टकं सम्पूर्णम् ॥
I offer my obeisances to Lord Śiva, the form of Nirvāṇa, the Supreme Lord, the all-pervading Absolute Truth, the form of the Vedas.
I worship My own Self, who is transcendental, transcendental, free from duality and free from egoism.
The formless Omkara is the root of the fourth, the Lord of the mountains, who is transcended by the ignorance of the words.
I bow down to that terrible, great time, time, merciful, transcendental, the repository of the modes of nature.
It is white and deep like a snow mountain, and its body is the radiance of millions of minds.
The beautiful Ganga with her sparkling crown and her waving hair, the shining beard of the young moon and the serpent around her neck.
He had moving earrings, large white eyes, a cheerful face and a blue neck and was kind.
O lord of the deer, I worship that dear Lord Śiva, the master of all, who is dressed in leather and wears a garland on his head.
He is tremendous, effulgent, proud, Lord of the Supreme, unbroken, unborn, and radiant like millions of suns.
I worship that Lord Bhavānī, who eradicates the three tridents and who holds a trident in His hand.
Transcendental welfare, the end of the age, always the giver of true bliss, Purari.
O bliss of consciousness, destroyer of doubt and delusion, please be merciful, O Lord, please be pleased with me.
No one in this world or in the next worships the lotus feet of Lord Umānātha.
There is no such thing as happiness, peace or the destruction of distress. O Lord, please be merciful to all living beings.
I do not know yoga, chanting, or worship, nor do I always, O Lord Śambhu, offer You my obeisances.
O Lord Śambho, please protect me from the flood of old age and birth.
This Rudrashtakam was recited by the brahmin for the sake of joy
Lord Śiva is pleased with those who recite it with devotion.
