बद्रीनाथ धाम कथा

एक बार श्री हरि ( विष्णु ) के मन में एक घोर तपस्या करने की इच्छा जाग्रत हुई। वे उचित जगह की तलाश में इधर उधर भटकने लगे।
.
खोजते खोजते उन्हें एक जगह तप के लिए सबसे अच्छी लगी जो केदार भूमि के समीप नीलकंठ पर्वत के करीब थी।
.
यह जगह उन्हें शांत, अनुकूल और अति प्रिय लगी।
.
वे जानते थे की यह जगह शिव स्थली है अत: उनकी आज्ञा ली जाये और यह आज्ञा एक रोता हुआ बालक ले तो भोले बाबा तनिक भी माना नहीं कर सकते है।
.
उन्होंने बालक के रूप में इस धरा पर अवतरण लिए और रोने लगे।
.
उनकी यह दशा माँ पार्वती से देखी नही गयी और वे शिवजी के साथ उस बालक के समक्ष उपस्थित होकर उनके रोने का कारण पूछने लगे।
.
बालक विष्णु ने बताया की उन्हें तप करना है और इसलिए उन्हें यह जगह चाहिए।
.
भगवान शिव और पार्वती ने उन्हें वो जगह दे दी और बालक घोर तपस्या में लीन हो गया।
.
तपस्या करते करते कई साल बीतने लगे और भारी हिमपात होने से बालक विष्णु बर्फ से पूरी तरह ढक चुके थे, पर उन्हें इस बात का कुछ भी पता नहीं था।
.
बैकुंठ धाम से माँ लक्ष्मी से अपने पति की यह हालत देखी नही जा रही थी। उनका मन पीड़ा से दर्वित हो गया था।
.
अपने पति की मुश्किलो को कम करने के लिए वे स्वयं उनके करीब आकर एक बेर ( बद्री ) का पेड़ बनकर उनकी हिमपात से सहायता करने लगी।
.
फिर कई वर्ष गुजर गये अब तो बद्री का वो पेड़ भी हिमपात से पूरा सफ़ेद हो चुका था।
.
कई वर्षों बाद जब भगवान् विष्णु ने अपना तप पूर्ण किया तब खुद के साथ उस पेड़ को भी बर्फ से ढका पाया।
.
क्षण भर में वो समझ गये की माँ लक्ष्मी ने उनकी सहायता हेतू यह तप उनके साथ किया है।
.
भगवान विष्णु ने लक्ष्मी से कहा की हे देवी, मेरे साथ तुमने भी यह घोर तप इस जगह किया है अत इस जगह मेरे साथ तुम्हारी भी पूजा की जाएगी।
.
तुमने बद्री का पेड़ बनकर मेरी रक्षा की है अत: यह धाम बद्रीनाथ कहलायेगा।
.
भगवान विष्णु की इस मंदिर में मूर्ति शालग्रामशिला से बनी हुई है जिसके चार भुजाये है।
.
कहते है की देवताओ ने इसे नारदकुंड से निकाल कर स्थापित किया था।
.
यहाँ अखंड ज्योति दीपक जलता रहता है और नर नारायण की भी पूजा होती है।
.
साथ ही गंगा की 12 धाराओ में से एक धार अलकनन्दा के दर्शन का भी फल मिलता है। जय श्री लक्ष्मी नारायण 🙏

, Once the desire to do a severe penance arose in the mind of Shri Hari (Vishnu). They started wandering here and there in search of a suitable place. , While searching, he found a place best for penance, which was close to Neelkanth mountain near Kedar land. , He found this place to be calm, friendly and very dear. , They knew that this place is the place of Shiva, so if their permission is taken and if a crying child takes this order, then even a gullible Baba cannot obey it. , He descended on this earth as a child and started crying. , This condition of his was not seen by Mother Parvati and he along with Shiva appeared in front of that child and started asking the reason for his crying. , The child Vishnu told that he has to do penance and hence he needs this place. , Lord Shiva and Parvati gave him that place and the child got absorbed in severe penance. , Many years passed while doing penance and due to heavy snowfall, the child Vishnu was completely covered with snow, but he did not know anything about it. , This condition of her husband was not being seen from Mother Lakshmi from Baikunth Dham. His heart was filled with pain. , To ease her husband’s difficulties, she herself came close to him and started helping him with snow by becoming a berry (Badri) tree. , Then many years passed, now even that tree of Badri had become completely white due to snow. , After many years, when Lord Vishnu completed his penance, he found that tree covered with snow along with himself. , In a moment he understood that Mother Lakshmi had done this penance with him to help him. , Lord Vishnu told Lakshmi that O Goddess, you have also done this severe penance with me at this place, so you will be worshiped along with me at this place. , You have protected me by becoming a Badri tree, so this abode will be called Badrinath. , The idol of Lord Vishnu in this temple is made of Shalagramshila which has four arms. , It is said that the gods had established it by taking it out of Naradkund. , Here the Akhand Jyoti lamp keeps on burning and Nar Narayan is also worshipped. , Along with this, one of the 12 streams of the Ganges, one of the streams, Alaknanda also gets the fruits of darshan.
