“गुप्त अकाम निरन्तर ध्यान सहित सानन्द ।
आदर जुत जपसे तुरत पावत परमानन्द ॥“
ये छः बातें जिस जप में होती हैं, उस जप का तुरन्त और विशेष माहात्म्य होता है । भगवान् का नाम गुप्त रीति से लिया जाय, वह बढ़िया है । लोग देखें ही नहीं, पता ही न लगे‒यह बढ़िया बात है परंतु कम-से-कम दिखावटीपन तो होना ही नहीं चाहिये । इससे असली नाम-जप नहीं होता । नाम का निरादर होता है ।नामके बदले मान-बड़ाई खरीदते हैं, आदर खरीदते हैं, लोगों को अपनी तरफ खींचते हैं‒यह नाम महाराज की बिक्री करना है । यह बिक्री की चीज थोड़े ही है ! नाम जैसा धन, बताने के लिये है क्या ? लौकिक धन भी लोग नहीं बताते, खूब छिपाकर रखते हैं । यह तो भीतर रखनेका है, असली धन है ।“माई मेरे निरधनको धन राम । रामनाम मेरे हृदयमें राखूं ज् यूं लोभी राखे दाम ॥ दिन दिन सूरज सवायो उगे, घटत न एक छदाम । सूरदास के इतनी पूँजी, रतन मणि से नहीं काम ॥“
यह अपने हृदय की बात है । मेरे निर्धन का धन यही है । कैसा बढ़िया धन है यह ! अन्त में कहते हैं यह जो रत्न-मणि, सोना आदि है, इनसे मेरे मतलब नहीं है । ये पत्थर के टुकड़े हैं । इनसे क्या काम ! निर्धन का असली धन तो ‘राम’ नाम है ।
“धनवन्ता सोइ जानिये जाके
‘राम’ नाम धन होय ।“
यह धन जिसके पास है, वही धनी है । उसके बिना कंगले हैं सभी ।
“सम्मीलने नयनयोर्न हि किञ्चिदस्ति ।
करोड़ों रुपये आज पास में हैं, पर ये दोनों आँखें सदा के लिये जिस दिन बन्द हो गयीं, उस दिन कुछ नहीं है । सब यहाँ का यहीं रह जायगा ।
“सुपना सो हो जावसी सुत कुटुम्ब धन धाम ।“
यह स्वप्न की तरह हो जायगा । आँख खुलते ही स्वप्न कुछ नहीं और आँख मिचते ही यहाँ का धन कुछ नहीं ।
स्थूल बुद्धिवाले बिना समझे कह देते हैं कि ‘राम’ नामसे क्या होता है ? वे बेचारे इस बात को जानते नहीं, उन्हें पता ही नहीं है । इस विद्या को जानने वाले ही जानते हैं भाई ! सच्ची लगन जिसके लगी है वह जानता है । दूसरों को क्या पता ?
‘जिसके लागी है सोई जाने दूजा क्या जाने रे भाई’
…भगवान् का नाम लेनेवालों का बड़े-बड़े लोकों में जहाँ जाते हैं, वहाँ आदर होता है कि भगवान् के भक्त पधारे हैं । हमारा लोक पवित्र हो जाय । भगवन्नाम से रोम-रोम, कण-कण पवित्र हो जाता है, महान् पवित्रता छा जाती है । ऐसा भगवान् का नाम है । जिसके हृदयमें नामके प्रति प्रेम जाग्रत् हो गया, वह असली धनी है । इससे भगवान् प्रकट हो जाते हैं । वह खुद ऐसा विलक्षण हो जाता है कि उसके दर्शन, स्पर्श, भाषण से दूसरों पर असर पड़ता है । नाम लेनेवाले सन्त-महात्माओं के दर्शनसे शान्ति मिलती है । अशान्ति दूर हो जाती है, शोक-चिन्ता दूर हो जाते हैं और पापोंका नाश हो जाता है । जहाँ वे रहते हैं, वे धाम पवित्र हो जाते हैं और जहाँ वे चलते हैं वहाँ का वायुमण्डल पवित्र हो जाता है ।

The chanting in which these six things happen, there is an immediate and special significance of that chanting. The name of the Lord should be taken in secret, that is good. People don’t even see, don’t even know, it’s a good thing, but at least there should be no pretentiousness. This is not real chanting. The name is dishonored. Instead of the name, we buy prestige, we buy respect, attract people towards ourselves. This is a little something for sale! Money like name, what is there to tell? People do not even reveal worldly wealth, they keep it very hidden. This is to be kept inside, it is the real wealth. Rakhun Ram Naam in my heart, I am greedy Rakhe price. Day by day the sun rises, not a shadow. So much capital of Surdas, Ratan Mani does not work.
It’s about your heart. This is the wealth of my poor. What a great wealth this is! In the end, it is said that the gems, gems, gold etc., are not meant for me. These are pieces of stone. What do they do? The real wealth of the poor is the name ‘Ram’.
“Dhanvanta soi know May the name of ‘Ram’ be wealth.”
Whoever has this wealth, he is the richest. Everyone is poor without him.
“There is nothing in the eyes when they close.
Crores of rupees are with us today, but the day these two eyes were closed forever, there is nothing on that day. Everything here will stay here.
“Supna so ho javasi sut kutumb dhan dham.”
It will be like a dream. As soon as the eyes are opened, the dream is nothing and when the eyes close, the money here is nothing.
Those with gross intellects, without understanding, say that what is the name of ‘Ram’? Those poor people don’t know this, they don’t even know. Only those who know this knowledge know this brother! He who has true passion knows. What do others know?
Whose Lagi Hai Soi Jaane Dooja Kya Jaane Re Bhai Wherever those who take the name of the Lord go to the big worlds, there is a respect that the devotees of the Lord have come. May our people become holy. Every hair and every particle becomes pure by the name of God, great purity prevails. Such is the name of God. In whose heart the love for Naam is awakened, he is the real rich. With this God appears. He himself becomes so unique that his vision, touch, speech affects others. Peace is attained by the darshan of saints-mahatmas who take names. Anxiety vanishes, sorrow and anxiety are removed and sins are destroyed. The abode where they live becomes pure and the atmosphere where they walk becomes pure.
