विचित्र दानी

रहीम खानखाना अपने समयके उदार और दानीदे व्यक्तियोंमेंसे एक थे। वे बहुत बड़े गुणग्राहक और भगवद्भक्त थे। उन्होंने अपने जीवनकालमें अगणित व्यक्तियोंको लाखों रुपयोंसे पुरस्कृतकर सम्मानित किया था।

एक समय मुल्ला नजीरी नामक व्यक्तिने रहीम खानखानासे निवेदन किया कि मैंने अपने समस्त जीवनमें कभी एक लाख रुपयेका ढेर नहीं देखा है। ‘एक लाख रुपयेका ढेर शीघ्र लगा दिया जाय।’ खानखानाका आदेश होते ही उनके कोषाध्यक्षने रुपयोंकाढेर लगा दिया।

‘परमात्माको धन्यवाद है। उनकी कृपासे खानखानाने एक लाखका ढेर लगवा दिया।’ मुल्ला नजीरी प्रसन्नता नाच उठे। इधर परमात्माको धन्यवाद देते देखकर रहीमका भक्त – हृदय पिघल उठा।

‘मुल्लाको एक लाख रुपयेका ढेर सदाके लिये साँप दिया जाय, जिससे वे इतनी ही सचाई और भक्तिसे एक बार फिर परमात्माको धन्यवाद दे सकें।’ महादानी खानखानाके अधर स्पन्दित हो उठे; वे आनन्दमग्न थे।

Rahim Khankhana was one of the generous and charitable persons of his time. He was a great connoisseur and devotee of the Lord. In his lifetime, he had honored countless people by awarding them with lakhs of rupees.
Once a person named Mulla Naziri requested Rahim Khankhana that he had never seen a pile of one lakh rupees in his entire life. ‘A pile of one lakh rupees should be put up soon.’ As soon as the Khankhana was ordered, his treasurer put a pile of money.
‘Thanks to God. By his grace, a pile of one lakh was installed in the Khankhana. Mulla Naziri danced with joy. Here the heart of Rahim’s devotee melted seeing him thanking God.
‘Mulla should be given a snake worth one lakh rupees forever, so that he can once again thank God with the same sincerity and devotion.’ The wings of the Mahadani Khankhana vibrated; They were overjoyed.
