घट-घटमें वह साईं रमता
एक बार सन्त उमरको रास्तेमें एक गुलाम बकरियाँ चराते हुए दिखायी दिया। वे उसके पास गये और उन्होंने उससे पूछा- ‘क्या इनमेंसे एक बकरी मुझे बेचेगा ?’ गुलामने जवाब दिया- ‘माफ करें, ये बकरियाँ मेरी नहीं हैं। इनका मालिक दूसरा है, मैं तो इन्हें केवल चराता हूँ।’ तब उमरने कहा – ‘ अभी तो यहाँ मालिक नहीं है, तू चुपचाप मुझे एक बेच दे । बादमें जब मालिक पूछे, तो कह देना कि बकरीको भेड़िया चुरा ले गया।’ चरवाहेने उत्तर दिया- ‘ बकरियोंका मालिक यहाँ नहीं है तो क्या हुआ, घट-घटव्यापी मालिक तो देख रहा है, उससे भला यह बात कैसे छिपी रह सकती है ? मैं आपसे प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि आप मुझे गलत काम करनेको न कहें।’
उमरने सुना तो बोले- ‘तू सचमुच नेकदिल और बड़ा आदमी है। खुदा तुझ जैसे आदमियोंको ही पसन्द करता है।’ उन्होंने उस गुलामके मालिकको मुँहमाँगा दाम देकर उसे मुक्त कराया। फिर यह कहकर विदा किया ‘जैसे मैंने तुझे गुलामीसे छुड़ाया है, वैसे ही खुदा भी तुझे दोजखके दुःख-दर्द से छुटकारा देकर जन्नतमें जगह देगा।’
Every now and then that Sai becomes engrossed
Once Saint Umar saw a slave grazing goats on the way. They went to him and asked him – ‘Will you sell me one of these goats?’ The slave replied- ‘Sorry, these goats are not mine. Their owner is someone else, I only graze them.’ Then Umar said – ‘Now there is no owner here, you quietly sell me one. Later, when the owner asks, tell him that the goat was stolen by the wolf.’ The shepherd replied – ‘ If the owner of the goats is not here, then what happened, the owner is watching everywhere, how can this thing remain hidden from him? I request you not to ask me to do wrong.’
When Umar heard it, he said – ‘You are really a good-hearted and big man. God only likes men like you.’ He freed the slave’s owner by paying a very high price. Then bid farewell by saying, ‘Just as I have freed you from slavery, in the same way God will free you from the pain and suffering of hell and give you a place in heaven.’
