नवदुर्गा के नौ स्वरूप
1 जन्म ग्रहण करती हुई कन्या “शैलपुत्री” स्वरूप है।
2 कौमार्य अवस्था तक “ब्रह्मचारिणी” का रूप है।
3 विवाह से पूर्व तक चंद्रमा के समान निर्मल होने से वह “चंद्रघंटा” समान है।
4 नए जीव को जन्म देने के लिए गर्भ धारण करने पर वह “कूष्मांडा” स्वरूप में है।
5 संतान को जन्म देने के बाद वही स्त्री “स्कन्दमाता” हो जाती है।
6 संयम व साधना को धारण करने वाली स्त्री “कात्यायनी” रूप है।
7 अपने संकल्प से पति की अकाल मृत्यु को भी जीत लेने से वह “कालरात्रि” जैसी है।
8 संसार (कुटुंब ही उसके लिए संसार है) का उपकार करने से “महागौरी” हो जाती है।
9 धरती को छोड़कर स्वर्ग प्रयाण करने से पहले संसार में अपनी संतान को सिद्धि (समस्त सुख-संपदा) का आशीर्वाद देने वाली “सिद्धिदात्री” हो जाती है।

1. The girl taking birth is in the form of “Shailputri”.
2. Till the stage of virginity, she is in the form of “Brahmacharini”.
3. Being as pure as the moon before marriage, it is like “Chandraghanta”.
4 When she conceives to give birth to a new being, she is in the form of “Kushmanda”.
After giving birth to 5 children, the same woman becomes “Skandamata”.
6. The woman who practices self-restraint and meditation is the form of “Katyaayani”.
7 By conquering even the untimely death of her husband with her determination, she is like “Kalratri”.
8 By doing good to the world (family is the world for him) one becomes “Mahagauri”.
9 Before leaving the earth and going to heaven, she becomes “Siddhidatri” who blesses her children with success (all happiness and wealth) in this world.
