भगवान राम के चरण चिन्ह

चरणों में काँटे लिए, लेकिन एक दिन क्या हुआ कि भगवान कह रहे थे -- आ हा हा, कैकेई माता की बड़ी कृपा है। अगर उनकी कृपा न होती तो हम वन में न आते। कितना सुरम्य वातावरण, कितने सुन्दर निर्झर झर रहे हैं पर्वत के ऊपर, शीतल मन्द सुगन्ध पवन, चारों तरफ हरा भरा वातावरण, वृक्ष वन कितने सुन्दर हैं? लक्ष्मण जी हुंकारी भर रहे थे -- हाँ प्रभु! बहुत सुंदर हैं, बहुत सुंदर हैं, लेकिन अचानक एक घटना घटी कि जैसे ही राम जी ने कहा कि वन बहुत सुंदर है, तो लक्ष्मण जी की आवाज़ बहुत दूर से आई -- हाँ प्रभु! बहुत सुंदर है। अब राम जी ने मुड़कर देखा कि इतनी दूर से आवाज़ क्यों आई? लक्ष्मण जी ने कहा कि प्रभु! मैं थोड़ा पीछे रह गया था। •••• क्यों? अब रहस्य खुल गया। लक्ष्मण जी ने कहा कि कुछ नहीं प्रभु! आप चलो। •••नहीं, नहीं बोलो। ••••• मेरे पांव में कांटा लग गया था। राम जी ने कहा कि कांटा लगना था तो मेरे चरण में लगता, आगे मैं था। चलो, नहीं लगा तो उसके बाद श्री जानकी जी के चरणों में लगता, उसी रास्ते पर तो तीनों चल रहे हैं। तो हम दोनों को छोड़कर, तुम सबसे बाद में आ रहे हो, तुम्हारे पांव में कांटा क्यों लगा? और जब यह प्रश्न किया गया, तो प्रेम का एक रहस्य और खुल गया। •••क्या रहस्य खुला? लक्ष्मण जी ने कहा कि प्रभु! मुझे कांटा लगा, इसमें कारण है। राम जी ने कहा -- स्पष्ट बताओ, क्या कारण है? रास्ते में कांटा था तो मुझे लगना था और मुझसे बच गया था तो जानकी जी के चरण में लगता, तुम्हारे क्यों लगा? लक्ष्मण जी ने कहा कि प्रभु! आप जब चलते हैं ना, तो इस वन मार्ग में धूलि पर आपके चरण चिन्ह बन जाते हैं और आपके पीछे चलती हैं सीता माता, तो सीता माता क्या करती हैं?

प्रभु पद देखि बीथि बिच सीता।
धरति चरन मग चलति सभीता।। राम जी के चरण चिन्ह, जो वन मार्ग की उस पगडंडी पर धूल भरे रास्ते पर बन जाते हैं, तो सीता जी उन चिन्हों को बचा कर चरण रखती हैं, ऐसा प्रेम का आदर्श कहाँ दिखाई पड़ेगा? चरण की तो जाने दो, राम जी के चरण चिन्ह पर भी हमारा चरण न पड़ जाए। इसमें एक प्रेम की बात भी है। •••• क्या? ••• श्री सीता जी भक्ति हैं और राम जी भगवान हैं। परस्पर सम्बन्ध देखो। किसी ने सीता जी से कहा कि इतना क्या ख्याल रखना? अगर चरण चिन्ह पर चरण पड़ भी जाय, तो आपत्ति क्या है? सीता जी ने कहा -- भक्ति की मर्यादा मिट जाएगी। •••• कैसे मिट जाएगी? बोलीं -- वह भक्ति कैसी, जो भगवान के चरण चिन्हों को मिटा दे, और अपने चरण स्थापित कर दे? भक्ति तो वह है कि अपने चरण चाहे न दिखें, पर भगवान के चरण सदा सबको दिखाई पड़ते रहें, यह भक्ति का आदर्श है और भगवान के चरण चिन्ह ही नहीं रहेंगे, तो भक्तों के लिए मार्ग दुर्गम हो जायगा। श्री सीता जी भगवान के चरण चिन्ह बचा के चरण रखतीं हैं, प्रभु के चरण चिन्ह न मिटें। इसमें संकेत यह है कि हम संसार में ऐसे चलें। भक्त का उद्देश्य है कि भक्त इस तरह संसार में चले, ताकि प्रभु की बनाई हुई मर्यादाओं का संरक्षण होता रहे। यह आध्यात्मिक संदेश है। भगवान ने कहा -- अच्छा, अब समझ में आया कि श्री सीता जी मेरे चरण चिन्ह बचाती हैं? •••• हाँ।••• तो लक्ष्मण! तुम? लक्ष्मण जी बोले -- प्रभु! मैं दोनों के चरण चिन्ह बचाता हूँ, राम जी के भी और श्री जानकी जी के भी। तो अब यह जो छोटी सी पगडंडी है, वह आप दोनों के चरण चिन्हों से भर जाती है और मुझे रास्ता छोड़ कर चलना पड़ता है।

सीय राम पद अंक बराई।
लखन चलहिं मग दाहिनि लाई।। लक्ष्मण जी दोनों के चरण चिन्ह बचा कर रास्ता छोड़कर चलते हैं, इसलिए कांटा लग गया। अब यहाँ एक उदाहरण देखो कितना अद्भुत है? भगवान की जगह कोई दूसरा होता, प्रेम से हृदय न भरा होता, तो कहता -- भाई! अब सेवा करने आए हो तो इतनी तो कठिनाई होगी ही, इतना तो सहन करना ही पड़ेगा। चलो कोई बात नहीं। पर भगवान ऐसा नहीं कहते हैं, राम जी रुक गये। इस समस्या का समाधान पहले हो। लक्ष्मण जी बोले -- प्रभु! क्या समाधान? भगवान बोले -- यही है ना कि मेरे चरण चिन्ह जानकी जी को बचाने पड़ते हैं, जानकी जी के और मेरे दोनों के चरण चिन्ह तुम्हें बचाने पड़ते हैं और पगडंडी है छोटी वन की। वह भर जाती है दोनों के चरण चिन्हों से, तुम्हें रास्ता छोड़कर चलना पड़ता है? ••••हाँ। ••• एक काम करते हैं। ••••क्या? लक्ष्मण? तुम सबसे आगे चलो। तुम्हारे बाद श्री जानकी जी और हम सबसे पीछे चलेंगे। किसी को किसी के चरण चिन्ह नहीं बचाने हैं, और भगवान पीछे हो गये। लक्ष्मण जी को आगे कर दिया, सीता जी बीच में। आप कहेंगे कि यह कथा कहाँ से आ गई? ऐसा तो कहीं पढ़ा नहीं, सुना नहीं। पर तुलसीदास जी कहते हैं कि ऐसा ही क्रम हुआ। आगे राम जी, पीछे सीता जी, उनके पीछे लक्ष्मण जी, लेकिन जब ऐसी घटना घटी, तो क्रम ऐसे बदल गया। •••कैसे? तुलसीदास जी दूसरा क्रम लिख रहे हैं --

अजहुं जासु उर सपनेहुं काहू। आज भी किसी के हृदय में यह छबि बसती हो। ••• कैसी?

बसहिं लखन सिय राम बटाऊ।। राम जी पीछे हो गये और यह प्रेम का अनोखा उदाहरण है। लक्ष्मण, जानकी जी को आगे कर दिया।

He took thorns at his feet, but what happened one day that God was saying – Aa ha ha, Kaikeyi Mata’s great grace. If it was not for his grace, we would not have come to the forest. What a picturesque environment, how many beautiful springs are falling on the top of the mountain, the cool soft fragrant wind, the green environment all around, how beautiful are the tree forests? Lakshman ji was filling the hunk – Yes Lord! Very beautiful, very beautiful, but suddenly an incident happened that as soon as Ram ji said that the forest is very beautiful, Lakshman ji’s voice came from far away – Yes Lord! is very beautiful. Now Ram ji turned and saw why the sound came from so far away. Lakshman ji said that Lord! I was a little behind. •••• Why? Now the secret has been revealed. Lakshman ji said that nothing Lord! You go •••No, say no. ••••• I had a thorn in my leg. Ram ji said that if the thorn had to be planted, it would have been in my feet, I was ahead. Come on, if not, then it would have seemed at the feet of Shri Janki ji, all three are walking on the same path. So except the two of us, you are coming last, why did you get a thorn in your foot? And when this question was asked, another mystery of love was revealed. •••What secret uncovered? Lakshman ji said that Lord! I got hooked, there’s a reason for this. Ram ji said – Tell me clearly, what is the reason? If there was a thorn in the way, I had to hit it and if I had escaped, then I would have felt at the feet of Janki ji, why did you feel? Lakshman ji said that Lord! When you walk, your footprints become on the dust in this forest path and Sita Mata follows you, so what does Sita Mata do?

See the Lord’s position, between Sita. The earth is moving towards the earth. Ram ji’s footprints, which are made on the dusty path on that trail of the forest road, then Sita ji saves those signs and keeps her feet, where will such an ideal of love be seen? Let go of the feet, our feet should not fall even on the footprints of Ram ji. There is also a love issue in this. •••• what? ••• Shri Sita ji is Bhakti and Ram ji is God. Look at the relationship. Somebody told Sita ji what to take care of so much? What is the objection even if a step falls on the step mark? Sita ji said – the limit of devotion will be erased. •••• How will it be erased? Said – What kind of devotion, which destroys the footprints of God, and establishes his feet? Devotion is that even if one’s feet may not be visible, but God’s feet should always be visible to everyone, this is the ideal of devotion and if the footprints of God will not remain there, then the path will become inaccessible for the devotees. Shri Sita ji keeps the footprints of the Lord saved, the footprints of the Lord should not be erased. The sign in this is that we should walk in the world like this. The aim of the devotee is that the devotee should walk in the world in such a way that the limitations created by the Lord are preserved. This is a spiritual message. God said – well, now I understand that Shri Sita ji saves my footprints? •••• Yes.••• So Lakshmana! You? Lakshman ji said – Lord! I save the footprints of both, of Ram ji and also of Shri Janki ji. So now this little trail is filled with the footprints of both of you and I have to walk away from the path.

Siya ram pad number barai. Lakhan Chalahin Maga brought the right. Lakshman ji leaves the path after saving the footprints of both, so he got a thorn. Now look at an example here. How wonderful is that? If someone else would have been in the place of God, if the heart had not been filled with love, he would have said – Brother! If you have now come to do service, there will be so much difficulty, you will have to endure so much. It is not a big thing. But God does not say so, Ram ji stopped. Solve this problem first. Lakshman ji said – Lord! what solution? God said – it is not that Janki ji has to be saved by my footsteps, you have to save the footprints of both Janki ji and mine and the footpath is to the small forest. She is filled with the footprints of both, you have to leave the way? ••••Yes. ••• Do one thing. ••••what? Laxman? You go first After you Mr. Janki ji and we will follow last. One is not to save anyone’s footprints, and the Lord lags behind. Lakshman ji was put forward, Sita ji in the middle. Where do you say this story came from? Haven’t read or heard like this anywhere. But Tulsidas ji says that such a sequence happened. Ram ji in front, Sita ji behind him, Lakshman ji behind him, but when such an incident happened, the sequence changed like this. •••How? Tulsidas ji is writing the second sequence –

Azhun Jasu ur Sapnehun Kahu. Even today this image resides in someone’s heart. ••• How?

Bashin Lakhan Siya Ram Batau. Ram ji fell behind and this is a unique example of love. Laxman pushed Janki ji forward.
