एक समय की बात है, जब किशोरी जी को यह पता चला कि कृष्ण पूरे गोकुल में माखन चोर कहलाता है तो उन्हें बहुत बुरा लगा उन्होंने कृष्ण को चोरी छोड़ देने का बहुत आग्रह किया। पर जब ठाकुर अपनी माँ की नहीं सुनते तो अपनी प्रियतमा की कहाँ से सुनते। उन्होंने माखन चोरी की अपनी लीला को जारी रखा। एक दिन राधा रानी ठाकुर को सबक सिखाने के लिए उनसे रूठ गयीं। अनेक दिन बीत गए पर वो कृष्ण से मिलने नहीं आईं। जब कृष्णा उन्हें मनाने गया तो वहाँ भी उन्होंने बात करने से इनकार कर दिया। तो अपनी राधा को मनाने के लिए इस लीलाधर को एक लीला सूझी।
ब्रज में लील्या गोदने वाली स्त्री को लालिहारण कहा जाता है। तो कृष्ण घूंघट ओढ़ कर एक लालिहारण का भेष बनाकर बरसाने की गलियों में पुकार करते हुए घूमने लगे। जब वो बरसाने, राधा रानी की ऊँची अटरिया के नीचे आये तो आवाज देने लगे।
मैं दूर गाँव से आई हूँ, देख तुम्हारी ऊँची अटारी,
दीदार की मैं प्यासी, दर्शन दो वृषभानु दुलारी॥
हाथ जोड़ विनंती करूँ, अर्ज मान लो हमारी,
आपकी गलिन गुहार करूँ, लील्या गुदवा लो प्यारी॥
जब किशोरी जी ने यह आवाज सुनी तो तुरन्त विशाखा सखी को भेजा और उस लालिहारण को बुलाने के लिए कहा। घूंघट में अपने मुँह को छिपाते हुए कृष्ण किशोरी जी के सामने पहुँचे और उनका हाथ पकड़ कर बोले कि कहो सुकुमारी, तुम्हारे हाथ पे किसका नाम लिखूँ। तो किशोरी जी ने उत्तर दिया कि केवल हाथ पर नहीं मुझे तो पूरे श्री अंग पर लील्या गुदवाना है और क्या लिखवाना है, किशोरी जी बता रही हैं।
माथे पे मदन मोहन, पलकों पे पीताम्बर धारी,
नासिका पे नटवर, कपोलों पे कृष्ण मुरारी,
अधरों पे अच्युत, गर्दन पे गोवर्धन धारी,
कानो में केशव, भृकुटी पे चार भुजा धारी,
छाती पे छलिया, और कमर पे कन्हैया,
जंघाओं पे जनार्दन, उदर पे ऊखल बंधैया,
गालों पर ग्वाल, नाभि पे नाग नथैया,
बाहों पे लिख बनवारी, हथेली पे हलधर के भैया,
नखों पे लिख नारायण, पैरों पे जग पालनहारी,
चरणों में चोर चित का, मन में मोर मुकुट धारी,
नैनो में तू गोद दे, नंदनंदन की सूरत प्यारी,
और रोम रोम पे लिख दे मेरे, रसिया रास बिहारी॥
जब ठाकुर जी ने सुना कि राधा अपने रोम रोम पर मेरा नाम लिखवाना चाहती है, तो खुशी से बौरा गए प्रभू, उन्हें अपनी सुध न रही, वो भूल गए कि वो एक लालिहारण के वेश में बरसाने के महल में राधा के सामने ही बैठे हैं। वो खड़े होकर जोर-जोर से नाचने लगे। उनके इस व्यवहार से किशोरी जी को बड़ा आश्चर्य हुआ की इस लालिहारण को क्या हो गया। और तभी उनका घूंघट गिर गया और ललिता सखी को उनकी साँवरी सूरत का दर्शन हो गया और वो जोर से बोल उठी कि “अरे ! ये तो बांके बिहारी ही है।” अपने प्रेम के इजहार पर किशोरी जी बहुत लज्जित हो गयीं और अब उनके पास कन्हैया को क्षमा करने के अलावा कोई रास्ता न था। ठाकुरजी भी किशोरी का अपने प्रति अपार प्रेम जानकर गदगद् और भाव विभोर हो गए।

Kishori ji became very ashamed at the expression of her love and now she had no way but to forgive Kanhaiya. Thakurji also became giddy and emotional after knowing the girl’s immense love for him.
