“गोपाल की उल्टी रीति है।”

ठाकुर जी के प्रेमी भक्त ‘श्री जयकृष्ण दास बाबा जी’ के जीवन का एक सुंदर प्रसंग

उल्टी रीति == अगर कोई बुलाता है तब भी उसके पास नहीं जाते, और कभी कोई नहीं भी बुलाता तो उसके पास जरूर जाते हैं।
नित्य लीला स्थली श्री धाम वृंदावन के काम्यवन में श्री जयकृष्ण दास बाबा जी गोप-बालकों के उत्पात से तंग आकर विमलकुण्ड़ के किनारे एकांत कुटिया में रहकर भजन किया करते थे।
श्री जयकृष्ण दास बाबा जी हर समय भजन में लीन रहते थे। केवल एक बार मधुकरी के लिए ग्राम में जाया करते और शेष समय दिन-रात हरिनाम जपते।

एक दिन मध्याह्न में सिद्ध जयकृष्ण दास बाबा जी की अन्तरंग सेवा में ठाकुर जी की एक ऐसी घटना घटी कि वे’ श्रीकृष्ण’ विरह में व्याकुल होने लगे। हुआ यह कि उस समय विमला कुण्ड के चारों ओर असंख्य गाय और गोप-बालक आकर उपस्थित हुए।
गोप-बालक बाहर से चीखकर कहने लगे :- “बाबा प्यास लगी है, जल प्याय दे।”

जयकृष्ण दास बाबा तो पहले से ही गोप-बालकों के उत्पात से परेशान थे, इसलिए बाबा चुपचाप अपनी कुटिया में बैठे रहे।
पर ठाकुर जी कहाँ मानने वाले थे? अपने गोप-सखाओं के साथ तरह-तरह के उत्पात करने लगे।
कुटिया के दरवाजे के पास आकर बोले :- “अरे ओ बँगाली बाबा! हम जाने हैं तू कहाँ भजन करे है। दयाहीन बाबा कसाई के बराबर होय हैं।
अरे बाबा कुटिया से निकलकर जल प्याय दे, हमको बड़ी प्यास लगी है।”
अब गोप-बालक बाबा को परेशान करने लगे।

जयकृष्ण दास बाबा बालकों के उत्पात से क्रुद्ध हो लकड़ी हाथ में लेकर कुटिया से बाहर निकल पड़े। बाबा जैसे ही कुटिया से बाहर आये तो देखा कि कुटिया के चारों तरफ असंख्य गाय और गोप-बालक हैं। सभी गोप-बालक एक से बढ़कर एक सुंदर। एक से बढ़कर एक अदभुत और मनमोहक श्रृंगार।
उन गोप-बालकों को देखकर जयकृष्ण दास बाबा जी का क्रोध ठंडा पड़ गया।
जयकृष्ण दास बाबा ने गोप-बालकों से पूछा:- “लाला, तुम सभी कौन गाँव से आये हो?”
सभी बालकों ने एक साथ जवाब दिया:- “नंदगाँव तें।”
बाबा ने एक बालक को पास बुलाकर प्रेम से पूछा :- “तेरा नाम क्या है?”
बालक ने कहा :- “मेरा नाम ‘कन्हैंया’ है।”
एक और बालक से बाबा ने पूछा:- “लाला तेरा नाम क्या है?”
बालक ने कहा:- “बलदाऊ ! मेरा नाम ‘बलदाऊ’ है।”
तब गोप बालक कन्हैया ने कहा :- “देख बाबा जी पहले पियाय दे, पाछे बात करियो।”
बाबा ने स्नेह परवश हो करुवे से गोप-बालकों को जल पिला दिया।
बालक ने कहा :- “देख बाबा हम नित्य किते दूर से आवें है, प्यासे जायं हैं। तू कछु जल और बालभोग राख्यो कर।”
“नहीं-नहीं रोज-रोज आकर अपाधि नहीं करना”, कहते हुए बाबा कुटिया में चले गये।
बाबा कुटिया में आकर सोचने लगे :- “ऐसे सुंदर मनमोहक बालक और ऐसी सुंदर गायें तो मैंने कभी नहीं देखीं, न कभी ऐसी मधुर बोली ही सुनी। ये इस जगत के थे या किसी और जगत के!”
यह सब सोचते हुए जयकृष्ण दास बाबा जी उन गोप-बालकों को एक बार फिर देखने को जैसे ही कुटिया से बाहर निकले, वहाँ न गायें थीं और न ही कोई गोप बालक। दूर दूर तक गायों तथा बालकों के कोई चिन्ह नहीं थे।

जयकृष्ण दास बाबा दुःखित और अनुतप्त हो अपने दुर्भाग्य और गोप-बालकों के प्रति अपने अंतिम वाक्य ‘रोज-रोज आकर अपाधि नहीं करना’ की बात सोचते सोचते आविष्ट हो गये।
बाबा रात भर ‘प्रिया प्रियतम’ की याद में अश्रु-विसर्जन करते रहे।
उसी समय ‘भगवान श्रीकृष्ण’ बाबा के सामने उपस्थित हो उन्हें सान्त्वना देते हुए बोले :- ‘बाबा, दुःख मत कर कल मैं तेरे पास आऊँगो।’
तब श्री जयकृष्ण दास बाबा जी का आवेश भंग हुआ और उन्होंने धैर्य धारण किया।

दूसरे दिन एक वृद्धा व्रज माई जयकृष्ण दास बाबा की कुटिया में गोपाल की एक मूर्ति लेकर आई और बाबा से बोली :- “बाबा, मोपे अब गोपाल की सेवा नाय होय। बाबा, आज से तू मेरे गोपाल की सेवा किया कर।”
जयकृष्ण दास बाबा ने कहा :- “माई, मैं कैसे इनकी सेवा करूँगा? रोज सेवा की सामग्री और भोग कहाँ से लाऊँगा?”
“बाबा, तू बस सेवा किया करना सेवा की सामग्री मैं रोज आकर दे जाऊँगी।”
गोपाल को बाबा को देकर ऐसा कहते हुए वृद्धा माई चली गई। गोपाल जी की रूप माधुरी देख बाबा मुग्ध हो गये।
उसी रात जयकृष्ण दास बाबा को स्वप्न में वृद्धा माई ने श्री वृन्दा जी के रूप मे दर्शन दिये।

गोपाल की उल्टी रीति है।
अगर कोई बुलाता है तब भी उसके पास नहीं जाते, और कभी कोई नहीं भी बुलाता तो उसके पास जरूर जाते हैं।
ऋषि मुनि भी बुला-बुलाकर हार जाते हैं, उनके मानस पटल पर भी कभी उदय नहीं होते। पर उनके प्रेमी भक्त उन्हें नहीं भी बुलाते तो हाथ धोकर अपने भक्त के पीछे पड़ जाते हैं।

A beautiful incident in the life of ‘Shri Jayakrishna Das Baba Ji’, a loving devotee of Thakur Ji

Inverted manner == Even if someone calls, they do not go to him, and no one ever calls, they definitely go to him. Shri Jaikrishna Das Baba ji, fed up with the misery of the cow-children, used to do bhajan while staying in a secluded hut on the banks of Vimalkund in the Kamyavan of Shri Dham Vrindavan, the place of daily Leela. Shri Jaikrishna Das Baba Ji used to be absorbed in Bhajan all the time. Only once would go to the village for Madhukari and the rest of the time would chant Harinam day and night.

One day in the afternoon, in the intimate service of Siddha Jaikrishna Das Baba, such an incident happened to Thakur ji that he started getting distraught in ‘Shri Krishna’ separation. It happened that at that time innumerable cows and cow-boys came and appeared around Vimala Kund. The cow-children shouted from outside and said: “Baba I am thirsty, please give me water.”

Jaikrishna Das Baba was already troubled by the turmoil of the Gopa-children, so Baba kept quietly sitting in his hut. But where was Thakur ji going to believe? He started doing all kinds of mischief with his gop-friends. Coming near the door of the hut, he said: – “Oh Bengali Baba! We have to know where you are doing bhajans. The merciless Baba is like a butcher. Hey Baba, come out of the hut and give us a drink of water, we are very thirsty.” Now the gop-children started troubling Baba.

Jaikrishna Das Baba got angry with the mischief of the children and came out of the hut taking wood in his hand. As soon as Baba came out of the hut, he saw that there were innumerable cows and cow-children around the hut. All the gop-children are more beautiful than one. One of the most amazing and beautiful makeup. Seeing those cow-boys, Jaikrishna Das Baba ji’s anger cooled down. Jaikrishna Das Baba asked the gopa-children:- “Lala, from which village have you all come?” All the children together replied:- “Nandgaon te.” Baba called a boy near and asked Prem :- “What is your name?” The boy said :- “My name is ‘Kanhaiya’.” Baba asked another boy: – “Lala, what is your name?” The boy said:- “Baldau! My name is ‘Baldau’.” Then the gop boy Kanhaiya said: – “Look, Baba ji first drink, talk back.” Baba out of affection gave water to the cowherd boys. The child said: – “See Baba, we have come from afar every day, we are thirsty. You should keep some water and child-bhog.” Baba went to the hut saying, “No-no, don’t come and commit crimes every day.” Baba came to the hut and started thinking: – “I have never seen such beautiful, adorable children and such beautiful cows, nor have I ever heard such sweet speech. They were from this world or some other world!” Thinking all this, Jaikrishna Das Baba ji, as soon as he came out of the hut to see those cow-boys once again, there were neither cows nor any cow-boys. There were no signs of cows and children far and wide.

Jaikrishna Das Baba, being sad and unsatisfied, became possessed by his misfortune and thinking about his last sentence for the cow-children, ‘Come daily and do not commit crimes’. Baba kept pouring tears throughout the night in remembrance of ‘Priya Priyatam’. At the same time, ‘Lord Shri Krishna’ appeared in front of Baba, comforting him and said: ‘Baba, don’t be sad, I will come to you tomorrow.’ Then Shri Jaikrishna Das Baba Ji’s passion was dissolved and he took patience.

On the second day an old lady Vraj Mai Jaikrishna Das brought an idol of Gopal to Baba’s hut and said to Baba: “Baba, Mope now Gopal ki seva nay hoy. Baba, from today you serve my Gopal.” Jaikrishna Das Baba said: – “Mai, how will I serve them? From where will I get the material and enjoyment of daily service?” “Baba, you just do service, I will come and give the material of service every day.” Giving Gopal to Baba, saying so, the old lady went to Mai. Baba was enchanted to see Gopal ji’s form Madhuri. On the same night, in the dream of Jaikrishna Das Baba, Vridha Mai appeared in the form of Shri Vrinda ji.

Gopal has the reverse method. Even if someone calls, they do not go to him, and no one ever calls, they definitely go to him. Even sages get defeated by calling, their mind never rises even on the table. But even if his loving devotees do not call him, they wash their hands and fall behind their devotee.
