रास उत्सव

धन्य हैं वे गोपियां, रास के समय भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने अपने चरणारविन्दों को जिनके वक्ष:स्थल पर रखा। ऐसा महाभाग्य अन्य किसी का कहां? कहां ये वनचरी, आचार और ज्ञान से रहित गांव की गंवार ग्वालिनें और कहां सच्चिदानन्दघन भगवान श्रीकृष्ण! रासोत्सव के समय भगवान के भुजदण्डों को गले में धारणकर पूर्णकामा व्रजसुन्दरियों को श्रीहरि का जो दुर्लभ प्रसाद प्राप्त हुआ था, वह निरन्तर भगवान के वक्ष:स्थल में निवास करने वाली लक्ष्मीजी को और कमल-की-सी कान्ति तथा सुगन्ध से युक्त सुरसुन्दरियों को भी नहीं मिला, फिर दूसरे की तो बात ही क्या है? ब्रह्मा, शंकर आदि परम समर्थ देवता अपने हृदय में निरन्तर जिनका चिंतन करते रहते हैं, वे सब भी भगवान के इस कृपा-प्रसाद से वंचित रहे। आज भी प्रेमीभक्त भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को ‘गोपीनाथ’, ‘गोपिकानन्दन’ और ‘गोपीजनवल्लभ’ आदि नामों से पुकारते हैं ।”
