गतांक से आगे-
साँई ! नाम जाप की सही विधि क्या है ? सत्संग चल रहा था एक साधक ने प्रश्न किया ।
कोकिल साँई ने उत्तर दिया – नाम जाप के साथ रूप और लीला का भी चिन्तन करते रहना चाहिये …इससे रस आता है ….हम भक्ति मार्ग वालों के लिये “रस” ही मुख्य है ….फिर कुछ देर रुककर कोकिल जी बोले – नाम जाप में रस नही आरहा तो पदों का गान करना चाहिए …पदों के गान में रूप और लीला दोनों चलती है …फिर नाम तो वहाँ है ही ।
साँई ! हम अभी साधना कर रहे हैं पर लक्ष्य तक कब पहुँचेंगे ?
दूसरे साधक ने प्रश्न उठा दिया था ।
ये सोच गलत है …कोकिल जी स्पष्ट बोले । अरे ! ये साधना ही लक्ष्य है …ऐसा सोचकर चलो ….अगर ऐसा नही सोचोगे तो साधना में उत्साह नही आयेगा ….और साधना में उत्साह का आना आवश्यक है …….नाम का जाप कर रहे हो , क्या नाम भगवान नहीं है ? रूप का चिन्तन हो रहा है …”रूप” भगवान ही तो हैं ! और लीला तो भगवान ही कर रहे हैं ..हमारे हृदय बिहारी हमारे हृदय को ही धाम बनाकर उसमें लीला कर रहे हैं …यही तो लक्ष्य है …और क्या लक्ष्य चाहते हो ?
फिर कोकिल जी एकाएक हंसने लगे थे ……
लक्ष्य मिल गया तो क्या करोगे ? यहाँ तो रोने में उसकी याद में तड़फने में ही मज़ा है ।
कोकिल जी सत्संग के विशेष आग्रही थे ….. वो कहते थे सत्संग तो बड़े बड़े सिद्ध भी करते हुये दिखाई देते हैं …क्या तुम लोग उन सिद्धों से भी बड़े हो ? नारद जी महाराज , सनकादि ऋषि , और यहाँ तक की भगवान शंकर भी सत्संग करते हैं ….सत्संग साधक को तो अति आवश्यक है ।
एक बार एक साधक ने प्रश्न किया – साँई ! सत्संग के नियम क्या हैं ?
तो बड़े प्रसन्न चित्त से कोकिल जी ने उत्तर दिया था…..
“सत्संग में बैठे साधकों को अपनी बुद्धि और विद्या का कौशल दिखाने के लिए कभी भी प्रश्न नही करने चाहिये ….प्रश्न सदैव जिज्ञासु बनकर ही करें ।”
फिर आगे बोले – सत्संगी वक्ता के शब्दों को न पकड़े भाव पर ध्यान देकर सत्संग करना चाहिये । और सुनो – सत्संग पर दोष का वर्णन हो तो अपनी ओर ही दृष्टि रखे …मन में सोचे कि इन दोषों से तो मैं भरा हुआ हूँ ….मुझे इन दोषों से कैसे मुक्ति मिले ।
और हाँ , कथा सुनाई जाये सत्संग में तो साधक ये न सोचे की ये तो कथा-कहानी है ….इसको क्या सुनना …..नही , बल्कि साधक ये सोचे की ये लीला भगवान अभी कर ही रहे हैं ।
और प्रभु लीला को विरह प्रसंग में ना छोड़े ….जैसे भगवान को ऊखल से बाँध दिया मैया ने …और अब समय हो गया है हमें जाना है …तो ऐसे विरह के प्रसंगों में उठ कर न जाये …ठाकुर जी को मिला दे …फिर कुछ खिला पिला कर जाये ….अगर वक्ता ऐसा न भी करे तो साधक स्वयं ध्यान में ऐसा करके तब उठे ।
कोकिल जी अंतिम में बोले …..सबसे मुख्य है उत्साह , सत्संग में कभी भी बैठे उत्साह से बैठे …और अतिउत्साह से सुने …ये मुख्य बात है सत्संग की ।
कोकिल जी यही उत्साह वाली बात अपने साधकों को बार बार कहते थे ….उत्साह ।
एक दिन सत्संग में कोई साधक ऊँघ रहा था ….तभी कोकिल जी ने उसे फटकारा और कहा ..इस तरह आगे बढ़ोगे ? जाओ , अब तभी इस सत्संग में आना जब आलस को त्याग दो ।
उनके कहने का प्रभाव हुआ….उस साधक का दूसरे दिन से आलस ही समाप्त हो गया था ।
साँई ! क्या भगवान की प्राप्ति के लिये रोना आवश्यक है ? मुझे रोना नही आता ?
ये बड़ा पुराना भोला साधक था कोकिल जी का सिन्ध से ही साथ था, ये प्रश्न उसी ने किया ।
पर सदगुरु कब किस विधि से वो रोगों का उपचार करतें हैं ये वही जानें ।
कोकिल जी ने हाथ में एक छड़ी ली और जोर से चार बार उसे मारा ।
पर ये क्या मार खाकर वो रसोई में गया तो हंसने लगा और हंसते हंसते उसे रोना आया …वो भाव से , वो प्रेम से रोने लगा …वो मुस्कुराता जा रहा है और उसके आँखों से अश्रु निरन्तर बहते जा रहे थे ।
! सब्जी जल गयी और उसका ध्यान भी नही है ।
कोकिल जी हंसते हुये बोले ..सब्जी तो फिर भी बन जाएगी …..पर “अपना छोरा सुधर गया”।
साँई ! रोने के तो कई प्रकार हैं ..पर श्रेष्ठ रोना क्या है ?
इसका उत्तर देते हुये साँई ने कहा ……कोई दुःखी हैं , इसलिए रोते हैं …रोते हुये कहते हैं हमारे दुःख को दूर कर दो भगवान ! कोई पाप हो गया उसके प्रायश्चित के लिए रोते हैं । कोई अपने पुत्र पुत्री के लिए रोते हैं ….भगवान से कहते हैं हमारी बेटी का घर बस जाये …..या हमारे बेटे का ब्याह हो जाये । पर ये रोना श्रेष्ठ नही है ….सच्चा रोना तो भगवान के लिये ही रोना हैं ….जन्मों जन्मों के बिछुड़े हैं अब तो मिल जाओ नाथ ! ये रोना सबसे श्रेष्ठ होना है । और इसी से भगवान भी मिल जाएँगे ।
कोकिल जी कभी भी अपने इष्ट के चरणों में प्रणाम नही करते थे ।
आपको तो पता ही है इनके इष्ट थे श्रीसीताराम जी ।
हाँ ये श्रीराधारानी को प्रणाम करते …बार बार प्रणाम करते । श्रीबाँके बिहारी जाते तो प्रणाम करते ….श्रीराधाबल्लभ जाते तो वहाँ प्रणाम करते पर अपने इष्ट के सिर में ये हाथ रख कर आशीष देते ।
एक बार स्वामी श्रीअखण्डा नन्द जी ने इनसे पूछा था …आप ऐसा क्यों करते हो ?
तब इनका उत्तर था ..मैं अपनी सिया जू को प्रणाम करूँगा तो लाड़ली को लगेगा इसका भार अब मेरे ऊपर है …मैं अपनी सिया सुकुमारी के ऊपर अपनी जिम्मेवारी रखूँ …नही, ये उचित नही होगा। स्वामी अखण्डानन्द जी इस दिव्य भाव से बहुत प्रभावित हुये थे।
ये अपने “सुख निवास” में बड़े बड़े संतों को बुलवाते …और अपने सियाराम जी को आशीष देने को कहते । एक बार श्रीउड़िया बाबा जी को भी इन्होंने बुलाया था ।
वन बिहार ….श्रीधाम वृन्दावन की सिद्ध भूमि ….वहाँ के महाराज जी तो निम्बार्क सम्प्रदाय के थे इनके यहाँ ये जब भी समय मिलता ,जाते …वहाँ रास लीला होती थी ….कुँज थे , सुन्दर सुन्दर बगीचे बाग आदि थे …मोरों का झुण्ड यहीं प्राय रहता ही था …कोकिल जी को ये स्थान बड़ा प्रिय था….मानसिक लीला चिन्तन के लिए ये यहाँ आते थे ….एक दिन वन विहार के महाराज जी ने उनसे कहा …आपका शरीर सिन्ध प्रान्त का है क्या ? कोकिल जी ने हाथ जोड़कर कहा …जी , ये शरीर सिन्ध का है …आपको कुछ काम हो तो ? वन बिहार के महाराज जी बोले – युगल सरकार कल कह रहे थे सूरमा लगाना है …..सिन्ध प्रान्त का सूरमा बड़ा प्रसिद्ध है ना ?
युगल सरकार कह रहे हैं ? ये सुनते ही अपने एक साधक को तुरन्त मथुरा भेज कर दिल्ली , दिल्ली से सिन्ध मीरपुर की टिकट मँगवा ली । केवल युगल सरकार के लिये ….ये वापस सिन्ध गये …..फिर क्या था वहाँ के लोग अपने इन प्यारे साँई को पाकर गदगद हो उठे …यहाँ पर भी सत्संग चल पड़ा था ……किन्तु दो दिन ही बीते थे कि स्वप्न में श्रीगुरुनानक देव आये और बोले ..युगल सरकार तुम्हारे सूरमे की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं ….जाओ श्रीधाम वृन्दावन …और सुनो अब श्रीधाम को मत छोड़ना ….वहीं वास करो ।
नींद खुल गयी थी कोकिल जी की उसी दिन सूरमा लेकर दिल्ली और दिल्ली से श्रीधाम वृन्दावन में आकर उन्होंने वन विहार के महाराज जी को सूरमा दे दिया था ।
कोकिला ! देखो , मैं कैसी लग रही हूँ …सूरमा लगा कर श्रीजी ने स्वप्न में कोकिल जी को दिखाया था ….आहा ! उन सुन्दर कमल नयनों में वो सूरमा अलग ही शोभा पा रहा था ।
और क्या सुनाऊँ साँई के बारे में ? वो सिन्धी भक्त मेरी और देखकर बोले थे ।
मैं कुछ कह नही पा रहा था …..क्या कहता , गौरांगी गदगद थी …वो भी कुछ बोली नही ।
श्री उड़िया बाबा जी बड़ा स्नेह करते थे कोकिल जी से ….हरिबाबा जी तो अपने हृदय से लगा लेते जहां भी कोकिल जी को देखते । गंगेश्वरानन्द जी वेद के जो परम विद्वान थे उनको ये अपनी कुटिया में लेकर आये थे और ये कहकर लेकर आये थे …मैं ग्रहस्थ हूँ …ये विरक्त थे ..पर अपने को छुपाकर रखते और कहते थे मैं ग्रहस्थ हूँ …मेरी एक बेटी है ..और दामाद जी हैं …उनको आप आशीष दीजिये …..उनका मंगल हो …वो प्रसन्न रहें । गंगेश्वरा नन्द जी को ये , ये कहकर लाये थे कि आप वेद के ज्ञाता हैं …वैदिक मन्त्र ज़्यादा प्रभावशाली होता है …इसलिये उसी मन्त्र से आशीष दीजिएगा । पर आपकी बेटी को कष्ट क्या है ?
मार्ग भर यही पूछते आये थे गंगेश्वरा नन्द जी ।
पता नही , पहले एक दुष्ट ले गया …फिर पति ने छोड़ दिया …जैसे जैसे मैंने दोनों को मिलाया है ..अब आगे कभी न बिछुड़ें …..कृपा करो महाराज ।
जब मन्दिर में सिया राम जी के सुन्दर विग्रह में हाथ रखकर आशीष देने के लिये कहा …तो गंगेश्वरानन्द जी गदगद होकर उनके भावों की भूरी भूरी प्रशंसा करने लगे थे ।
सिन्धी भक्त ने कहा ….इसके बाद तो कोकिल जी भाव में ही डूबने लगे …उन्हें अपने तन की कोई सुध नही रहती थी ….हा स्वामिनी ! हा किशोरी ! यही कहते रहते ।
एक दिन सत्संग में राम कथा सुना रहे थे ….वनवास का प्रसंग जब छिड़ा तो इनके अश्रु रुके ही नहीं …सीता जी को जब कैकेयी ने वनवासी वस्त्र दिये उस प्रसंग को कहते हुए तो कोकिल जी मूर्छित ही हो गये थे …पर मूर्च्छा इनकी रात्रि के बारह बजे खुली …..इनका नियम था प्रसंग को विरह में नही छोड़ते थे …रात्रि के बारह बजे ही उन्होंने आगे का प्रसंग सुनाया …साधकों ने सुना …केवट गंगा पार ले जाता है सिया राम लक्ष्मण को ये प्रसंग सुनाते हुये सुबह के तीन बज गये थे ….तीन बजे इनको कुछ आभास सा हुआ ये उठे …और अपने मन्दिर में जाकर बैठ गये …राधा राधा राधा राधा राधा राधा राधा राधा …..मेरी मति मेरी गति मेरे सिया राम ही रहें ।
ये कहते हुये कोकिल साँई जी ने अपना पान्चभौतिक शरीर छोड़ दिया था ।
उड़िया बाबा जी ध्यान में बैठे थे वो बोल उठे ..”कोकिला सखी निकुँज में चली गयी” ।
पूरा बृज उमड़ पड़ा था उनकी अन्तिम यात्रा में ।
हम सबके नेत्रों से अश्रु प्रवाहित हो रहे थे …..फिर हमने वहाँ का प्रसाद लिया ….और कोकिला सखी को प्रणाम करके निकल गये थे ।
सच में अद्भुत प्रेम और भाव से भिजी सखी थी ये , है ना हरि जी ? गौरांगी मुझ से पूछ रही थी ।
मैं सजल नयन से गौरांगी की बात पर मुस्कुराया … “श्री किशोरी जू की सखी थीं ये” ।

Sai! What is the correct method of chanting the name? Satsang was going on, a seeker asked a question.
Kokil Sai replied – Along with chanting the name, one should also keep thinking about form and leela…It gives juice….For us devotees on the path of devotion, “juice” is the main thing….Then after stopping for some time Kokil ji said – chanting the name If there is no interest in me, then one should sing of the verses… In the singing of the verses, both the form and the leela go on… then the name is there.
Sai! We are doing spiritual practice now, but when will we reach the goal?
Another seeker had raised the question.
This thinking is wrong… Kokil ji spoke clearly. Hey ! This Sadhana is the goal…walk thinking like this….if you don’t think like this then there will be no enthusiasm in Sadhana….and it is necessary to have enthusiasm in Sadhana….you are chanting the name, isn’t the name God? The form is being contemplated…” The form” is God only! And it is only God who is doing the leela..our Hriday Bihari is doing leela in our heart by making it his abode…this is the goal…and what goal do you want?
Then suddenly Kokil ji started laughing……
What will you do if you have achieved your goal? Here there is pleasure in crying and yearning for him.
Kokil ji was very insistent on satsang…..he used to say that big siddhas are also seen doing satsang…are you bigger than those siddhas? Narad ji Maharaj, Sankadi Rishi, and even Lord Shankar do satsang….Satsang is very necessary for a seeker.
Once a seeker asked a question – Sai! What are the rules of satsang?
So Kokil ji had replied with a very happy heart….
“Sadhaks sitting in satsang should never ask questions to show their intelligence and knowledge skills…. Always ask questions only by being curious.”
Then said further – Don’t get caught by the words of the satsangi speaker, you should do satsang by paying attention to the feelings. And listen – If there is a description of faults in the satsang, then keep your eyes on yourself…Think in your mind that I am full of these faults….How can I get rid of these faults.
And yes, if the story is told in the satsang, then the seeker should not think that this is just a story…..what to listen to it….. No, rather the seeker should think that God is doing this leela right now.
And do not leave Lord Leela in the context of separation….like God was tied up by the mother…and now it is time for us to go…so do not get up and leave in such situations of separation…get Thakur ji…then something Feed and drink and go…. Even if the speaker does not do this, the seeker himself wakes up after doing this in meditation.
Kokil ji said in the last….the most important thing is enthusiasm, whenever you sit in satsang, sit with enthusiasm…and listen with enthusiasm…this is the main thing of satsang.
Kokil ji used to say this enthusiastic thing again and again to his sadhaks….Enthusiasm.
One day a seeker was dozing off in the satsang….that’s why Kokil ji reprimanded him and said..will you move forward like this? Go, now come to this satsang only when you leave laziness.
His saying had an effect….The laziness of that seeker had ended from the second day.
Sai! Is it necessary to cry to attain God? I can’t cry
This very old innocent seeker was with Kokil ji from Sindh only, he asked this question.
But when and with what method Sadguru cures diseases, only he knows.
Kokil ji took a stick in his hand and hit him hard four times.
But what was this beating when he went to the kitchen, he started laughing and started crying while laughing… He started crying with emotion, he started crying with love… He kept smiling and tears were continuously flowing from his eyes.
, The vegetable got burnt and he doesn’t even care.
Kokil ji laughingly said…the vegetable will still be made…..but “your son has improved”.
Sai! There are many types of crying..but what is the best cry?
Answering this, Sai said……someone is sad, that is why they cry. Weep for atonement for some sin committed. Some cry for their son and daughter….they ask God that our daughter should settle down…..or that our son should get married. But this crying is not the best…. True crying is for God only…. This cry has to be the best. And through this God will also be found.
Kokil ji never used to bow down at the feet of his favorite.
You know that Shri Sitaram ji was his favourite.
Yes, he used to bow down to Shriradharani… used to bow down again and again. Shribanke would have bowed down when he went to Bihari….Shriradhaballabh would have bowed down there but he would have blessed by placing this hand on the head of his favorite.
Once Swami Shri Akhanda Nand ji had asked him… why do you do this?
Then his answer was.. If I bow down to my Siya Ju, then the darling will feel that the burden is on me… I should keep my responsibility on my Siya Sukumari… No, this will not be fair. Swami Akhandanand ji was greatly impressed by this divine gesture.
He used to call big saints to his “Sukh Niwas”… and ask them to bless their Siyaram ji. Once he had also called Sri Odia Baba Ji.
Forest Bihar…Shridham the proven land of Vrindavan….Maharaj of there belonged to the Nimbarka sect, he used to visit his place whenever he got time…Raas Leela used to take place there….there were groves, beautiful gardens etc…herds of peacocks. Used to stay here often… Kokil ji loved this place very much…. He used to come here for mental leela contemplation…. One day Maharaj ji of Van Vihar said to him… Is your body from Sindh province? Kokil ji folded hands and said… Yes, this body belongs to Sindh… If you have any work? Maharaj ji of Forest Bihar said – Couple government was saying yesterday to apply surma….. Sindh province’s surma is very famous isn’t it?
Saying couple government? On hearing this, he immediately sent one of his devotees to Mathura and got a ticket from Delhi to Sindh Mirpur. Couple only for the government….they went back to Sindh…..then what was there, the people of that place were overjoyed to see their beloved Sai…the satsang was going on here too…but only two days had passed that Shri Guru Nanak Dev appeared in the dream. Came and said.. couple government is waiting for your surma….go to Sridham Vrindavan…and listen now don’t leave Sridham….reside there.
Kokil ji had woken up the same day after taking Surma to Delhi and coming from Delhi to Shridham Vrindavan, he had given Surma to Maharaj ji of Van Vihar.
Nightingale! See, how I am looking… Shreeji had shown Kokil ji in his dream by applying surma…. Aha! That warrior was looking different in those beautiful lotus eyes.
What else should I tell about Sai? That Sindhi devotee said looking at me.
I was not able to say anything….. what to say, Gaurangi was giddy… she also did not say anything.
Mr. Odia Baba Ji used to have great affection for Kokil ji….Haribaba ji would have touched Kokil ji with his heart wherever he saw Kokil ji. Gangeshwaranand ji, who was the ultimate scholar of Vedas, he had brought him to his hut saying… I am a householder…he was disinterested…but kept himself hidden and used to say that I am a householder…I have a daughter.. And the son-in-law is there…you bless him…..may he be blessed…may he be happy. They had brought Gangeshwara Nand ji saying that you are a knower of Vedas…Vedic mantra is more effective…so bless with that mantra. But what is your daughter’s pain? Gangeshwara Nand ji kept asking this all the way.
Don’t know, first a rogue took away…then the husband left…as I have mixed both…now never get separated….please Maharaj.
When Siya Ram ji’s beautiful idol in the temple was asked to bless him by placing his hand… then Gangeshwaranand ji started praising his expressions very much.
The Sindhi devotee said….After this Kokil ji started drowning in emotions…He was not aware of his body….Ha Swamini! Hey Kishori! He kept saying this.
One day Ram was narrating Katha in the satsang….When the topic of exile broke out, his tears did not stop…When Kaikeyi gave Vanvasi clothes to Sita ji, Kokil ji had fainted while narrating that episode…but his fainting night Opened at twelve o’clock….It was their rule not to leave the context in separation…At twelve o’clock in the night itself, they narrated the further context…Sadhaks heard…Siya Ram takes Laxman across the Ganges while narrating this context at three o’clock in the morning. It was rang….He got some feeling at three o’clock, he got up…and went to his temple and sat down… Radha Radha Radha Radha Radha Radha Radha Radha….My mind, my speed, my Siya Ram should remain the same.
Saying this, Kokil Sai ji left his five physical body.
Odia Baba Ji was sitting in meditation and he said..”Kokila Sakhi went to Nikunj”.
The entire Brij had turned up in his last journey.
Tears were flowing from all of our eyes…..then we took the prasad there….and left after saluting Kokila Sakhi.
Really, she was a friend sent with amazing love and affection, isn’t it Hari ji? Gaurangi was asking me.
I smiled at Gaurangi’s words with Sajal Nayan… “Shri Kishori Joo ki Sakhi Thi Thi”.
