यार की यारी – ग्वारिया बाबा

पागलबाबा के कुँज में “ग्वारिया बाबा जी” के चरित्र का गायन हो रहा है ।

सख्य रस के ये अद्भुत रसिक थे …भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को उन्होंने “यार” ही कहकर सम्बोधन किया।

श्रीधाम वृन्दावन के प्रति इनकी बड़ी निष्ठा थी ….पर इनके “यार” का हवाला देकर इनसे कुछ भी करवाया जा सकता था ।

उन दिनों ग्वारिया बाबा ने सुना कि जयपुर के महाराजा माधोसिंह एक विशाल मन्दिर श्रीवृन्दावन में बनवा रहे हैं …..ये सुनते ही उस मन्दिर निर्माण का कार्य देखने आगये ….मन्दिर के ठेकेदारों को सैकड़ों मज़दूरों की आवश्यकता थी …ग्वारिया बाबा को जब देखा तो एक ठेकेदार ने पूछ लिया …..मज़दूर हो ? प्रसन्न होकर ग्वारिया बाबा बोले …हाँ …मजदूर ही हूँ । काम करोगे ? हाँ क्यों नही ….ग्वारिया बाबा ने हामी भरी ।

बस फिर क्या था ….दिन भर मजदूरों के साथ लगकर ग्वारिया बाबा काम करते ….उसके बाद जब उन्हें पैसा मिलता तो उससे चना और गुण ख़रीदकर लाते और मजदूरों में ही बाँट देते ।

ठेकेदारों ने इस बात पर कोई ध्यान दिया नही …उन्हें मतलब भी नही था …पैसा रखो या फेंक दो उन्हें क्या ! पर कुछ दिन के बाद जयपुर के महाराजा स्वयं मन्दिर के निर्माण कार्य को देखने श्रीवृन्दावन आये …..तो उनकी दृष्टि इस परम तेजस्वी मजदूर पर पड़ी ….महाराजा ने मन में विचार किया ये मजदूर तो नही है …औरों से पूछा तो उत्तर मिला …महाराज ! ये मजदूर तो विचित्र है इसको पैसे का भी लोभ नही है ….दिन भर हंसते खेलते ये काम करता है और शाम को जो इसे पैसे मिलते हैं उससे गुड चना ख़रीद कर अन्य मज़दूरों में ही बाँट देता है ।

महाराज को रुचि जागी उस मजदूर में ….”बुलाओ उसे यहाँ”…..महाराज की आज्ञा थी ।

ग्वारिया बाबा को बुलवाया गया और महाराज ने स्वयं बड़े आदर से पूछा …पैसे का लोभ नही है तो काम क्यों करते हो ?

बाबा का उत्तर था …”मेरे यार को मन्दिर बन रह्यो है ….मैं इतनी सेवा हूँ नाँय कर सकूँ का ?

महाराज चकित रह गये ऐसा उत्तर सुनकर ….ग्वारिया बाबा फिर बोले …तुम्हारे पास धन है तो तुम धन ते सेवा कर रहे हो ….मैं तन ते कर रह्यो हूँ ….और जे बेचारे अन्य मजदूर भूखे रहके काम करें जा लिये मैं इनकूँ बाद में गुण चना खिलाऊँ ….मेरे यार की सेवा में आप, मजदूर सबै तो लगे हैं या लिये आप लोग धन्य हो ……ये कहकर जैसे ही ग्वारिया बाबा जाने लगे ….तभी महाराज के सचिव ने कहा …यही हैं श्रीवृन्दावन के प्रसिद्ध सन्त ग्वारिया बाबा । सन्तों के प्रति आदर भाव था ही जयपुर महाराजा का …और ग्वारिया बाबा का नाम इन्होंने सुन भी रखा था …भारत के महान संगीतकार श्रीविष्णु दिगम्बर जी इनको गुरु मानते हैं ये इन्होंने सुन रखा था ….तो महाराज स्वयं उठे और ग्वारिया बाबा से जोर से बोले – बाबा ! तुम्हारा यार बुला रहा जयपुर …नही चलोगे ?

मेरो यार जयपुर में ….जयपुर में कहाँ है ?

श्री गोविन्द देव जी । महाराज ने नतमस्तक होकर कहा ।

ग्वारिया बाबा रुक गये …..अच्छा ! बुलाय रह्यो है ? सोचने लगे बाबा …फिर बोले ….हाँ , अपने बृज के लोगन की याद आती होगी ना बाकूँ ! चलो ! अभी चलो ! महाराज प्रसन्न हो गये …और उसी समय उनके लिए गाड़ी मँगवाई …और जयपुर के लिए चल दिये थे ।

राजस्थान …मेरो यार वृन्दावन ते डर के नही आयो है ..अरे ! तुम सब राजस्थान वासियन के ऊपर कृपा करिवे कुँ जे पधारो है …जा लिये खूब सेवा करो मेरे यार की …खूब खिलाओ रिझाओ ।
ग्वारिया बाबा जयपुर में गोविन्द देव जी के सामने खड़े होकर सब दर्शनार्थियों को कहते ….फिर अपने यार को गाकर सुनाते …वो जब गाते तो सब जयपुर वासी मन्त्र मुग्ध हो जाते …उन्हें कुछ भान नही रहता ।

पर ये क्या हुआ ….जयपुर आने के बाद ग्वारिया बाबा बीमार पड़ गये …वैद्य दवा दे रहे थे …..पर उसका कोई असर हो नही रहा था ….तभी “नाथ द्वारा” के गोसाईं जी जयपुर महाराजा के यहाँ पधारे तो ग्वारिया बाबा से भी मिले …और चर्चा चर्चा में कह दिया ….”आपको यार तो नाथ द्वारा में भी है वहाँ हूँ बुलाय रह्यो है” अस्वस्थ थे ग्वारिया बाबा पर “यार बुलाय रह्यो है” …ये सुनते ही उठकर बैठ गये …बोले …गोसाईं जी ! चलो …..महाराज ने कहा बाबा अभी आप अस्वस्थ हो नाथ द्वारा दूर है ……आप जब स्वस्थ हो जाओ तब जाना । पर ग्वारिया बाबा जिद्दी स्वभाव के थे ….बोले ..महाराज ! अपने वैद्य कुँ कह दो पुड़िया बनाय के दे दे …मैं खातो रहूँगो ।

वैद्य जी ने बीस पुड़िया दवा की बनाकर दे दी ….और समझा ही रहे थे कि बाबा ने सब पुड़िया खोली और दवा एक ही साथ खा ली …और हंसते हुये बोले ….”सबरो रोग अब गयो” और आश्चर्य, बाबा बिल्कुल ठीक हो गये । गोसाईं जी के साथ बाबा नाथद्वारा आगये थे …..यहाँ आकर मन्दिर में खड़े होकर बाबा खूब रोये ….”श्रीनाथ” नाम ते बढ़िया का “राधानाथ”ठीक नही लगतो ? फिर प्रेम भाव से बोले …यार ! तेरी जो राजी वाही में हमहूँ राजी ।

एक दिन नाथ द्वारा के गोसाईं जी के बड़े पुत्र जो सेवायत थे …वो मैदान में पेण्ट शर्ट पहनकर क्रिकेट खेल रहे थे ….ये देखा ग्वारिया बाबा ने तो भाग के उसके पास गये और जोर से चार थप्पड़ मार दिये …और चिल्लाकर बोले …धोती तुम्हें धन वैभव सब दे रही है उसके बाद भी तुम उसका आदर नही करते …लोग तुम्हारे पैर छूते हैं फिर भी तुम उनके अनुरूप आचरण नही करते ।

वहीं क्रिकेट के मैदान में ही गुसाँई जी के बड़े पुत्र को पीट दिया था ग्वारिया बाबा ने ….वो बेचारा क्या बोलता वहाँ से चला गया ….तो ग्वारिया बाबा को अब दुःख हुआ …देखो गुसाँई बालक पर मैंने हाथ उठाया …वो दुःखी होकर चला गया ….ग्वारिया बाबा उसी समय पुलिस थाने में चले गये और वहाँ जाकर बोले …गोसाईं जी के बड़े पुत्र को मैंने पीट दिया है …मुझे जेल में बन्द करो …पुलिस ने कहा …महाराज ! आप जाओ यहाँ से ….यहाँ आपके लिये कोई जगह नही है ….पर ग्वारिया बाबा माने नही ….ज़बरदस्ती जेल में घुस गये और कोने में जाकर बैठ गये ।

गोसाईं जी बाबा को खोजते खोजते थक गये थे पर किसी ने कह दिया तो वो थाने में गये हैं …अब गोसाईं जी गये और थाने से छुड़वा कर ले आये ….,.मोते अपराध है गयो गोसाईं जी !

कोई अपराध नाँय भयो …..आपने सही शिक्षा दयी है …..भेष भूषा को आदर गोसाईं बालकन कुँ करनो ही चहिए …….बाबा से बहुत कहा ….पर बाबा को अच्छा नही लगा था गोसाईं बालक को पीटना ………

एक दिन बाबा बोले ….मेरो मन अब नही लग रह्यो यहाँ ….मोहे श्रीधाम भिजवाय दो …..

गोसाईं जी ने व्यवस्था की और ग्वारिया बाबा वापस श्रीवृन्दावन आगये ….और आकर ये बहुत नाचे यहाँ ….बाँके बिहारी मन्दिर में जाकर बोले थे …..श्रीवृन्दावन ते बाहर जानों तो कालिख मुँह में पोतवे के बराबर है …..यार ! अब मत भेजियो श्रीवृन्दावन ते बाहर ।

ग्वारिया बाबा इसके बाद विपिन राज की सीमा से बाहर कभी गये नही..!!

The character of “Guaria Baba ji” is being sung in Pagalbaba’s Kunj.

He was a wonderful Rasik of Sakhya Ras… He addressed Lord Krishna as “Friend”.

He had great loyalty to Shridham Vrindavan….But anything could have been done to him by referring to his “friend”.

In those days Guaria Baba heard that Maharaja Madho Singh of Jaipur was getting a huge temple built in Sri Vrindavan…..On hearing this, he came to see the work of construction of that temple….The contractors of the temple needed hundreds of laborers…When I saw Guaria Baba A contractor asked…..are you a laborer? Being pleased, Guaria Baba said… yes… I am a labourer. will you work Yes why not….Guriya Baba agreed.

What was it then….. The Guaria Baba used to work with the laborers throughout the day….After that, when he got the money, he would have bought gram and quality from it and distributed it among the laborers.

The contractors did not pay any attention to this thing…they did not even mean…keep the money or throw them what! But after a few days the Maharaja of Jaipur himself came to Sri Vrindavan to see the construction work of the temple…..So his eyes fell on this supremely brilliant laborer….Maharaja thought in his mind whether he is a laborer… King ! This laborer is strange, he does not even have the greed for money.

Maharaj got interested in that laborer….”Call him here”….. was the order of the Maharaj.

Guaria Baba was called and Maharaj himself asked with great respect… If you do not have greed for money, then why do you work?

Baba’s answer was…” My friend has to build a temple….I am so much service that I can do?

Maharaj was astonished to hear such an answer….Gwaria Baba said again…If you have money, you are doing service with money….I am doing your work….and other poor laborers go to work after starving. I should feed the gram in the service of my friend. Dad . Jaipur Maharaja had respect for the saints…and he had even heard the name of Guaria Baba….The great musician of India, Shri Vishnu Digambar ji considers him as a guru, he had heard this….So the Maharaj himself got up and asked Guaria Baba aloud. Said – Baba! Your friend is calling Jaipur… will you not go?

My friend in Jaipur….where is it in Jaipur?

Mr. Govind Dev The Maharaj bowed down and said.

Guaria Baba stopped…..well! Have you been called? Baba started thinking…then said….yes, I must have remembered the people of my Brij, would I not? Let us go ! Come on now! Maharaj was pleased … and at the same time ordered a car for him … and left for Jaipur.

Rajasthan … my friend has not come to Vrindavan Te Darr Ke.. Hey! All of you Rajasthan residents are kind enough to come here… go and do a lot of service to my friend… Feed me a lot. Guaria Baba would stand in front of Govind Dev Ji in Jaipur and tell all the visitors….Then sing to his friend and recite it…when he sang, all the people of Jaipur would be enchanted…they do not know anything.

But what happened. I also met… and said in the discussion….” I am also there by Nath, my friend was there.” He was unwell, “Yaar called Raho Hai” on Guriya Baba… On hearing this he got up and sat down… said… ! Come on…..Maharaj said Baba, now you are unwell, you are away from Nath……when you get healthy then go. But Guaria Baba was of a stubborn nature…. said..Maharaj! Tell your doctor how to make pudding and give it to me… I will keep eating.

Vaidya ji gave twenty puddings made of medicine….and was explaining that Baba opened all the puddings and ate the medicine together…and laughingly said….”Severo disease is gone now” and wonder, Baba is absolutely fine. Went. Baba had come to Nathdwara with Gosain ji…..come here and stood in the temple, Baba cried a lot….”Shrinath’s name is better than “Radhanath”, don’t you feel right? Then said with love… I agree with you.

One day Nath, the eldest son of K Gosain ji, was playing cricket in the field wearing a pant shirt….I saw that Guriya Baba ran to him and slapped him four loudly…and shouted…Dhoti You are giving you all the wealth and splendor, even after that you do not respect it… people touch your feet, yet you do not behave according to them.

Gusain ji’s eldest son was beaten up in the cricket field itself. Gaya….Gwaria Baba went to the police station at the same time and went there and said…I have beaten the elder son of Gosainji…Keep me in jail…The police said…Maharaj! You go from here….There is no place for you here….But Guriya Baba did not agree….Forcibly entered the jail and sat in the corner.

Gosain ji was tired of searching for Baba, but someone told him that he has gone to the police station.

Don’t fear any crime…..You have given right education…..Disguise should respect Gosain Balkan well…….Told Baba a lot….But Baba did not like to beat Gosain boy………

One day Baba said…..my mind is no longer feeling here….Mohe Shridham send me…..

Gosain ji made arrangements and Guaria Baba came back to Sri Vrindavan….and came and danced a lot here….Banke Bihari had gone to the temple and said…..If you know SriVrindavan outside, the soot is like a vessel in the mouth…..Man! Now don’t send him out of Sri Vrindavan.

Guariya Baba never went out of the limits of Vipin Raj after this..!! Jai Jai Shree Radhe
