पिता अपने बेटे के साथ पांचसितारा होटल में प्रोग्राम अटेंड करके कार से वापस जा रहे थे। रास्ते में ट्रेफिक पुलिस हवलदार ने सीट बैल्ट नहीं लगाने पर रोका और चालान बनाने लगे।
पिता ने सचिवालय में अधिकारी होने का परिचय देते हुए रौब झाडना चाहा तो हवलदार जी ने कडे शब्दों में आगे से सीट बैल्ट लगाने की नसीहत देते हुए छोड दिया। बेटा चुपचाप सब देख रहा था।
रास्ते में पिता ” अरे मैं आइएएस लेवल के पद वाला अधिकारी हूं और कहां वो मामूली हवलदार मुझे सिखा रहा था, मैं क्या जानता नहीं क्या जरुरी है क्या नहीं”, बडे अधिकारियों से बात करना तक नहीं आता, आखिर हम भी जिम्मेदारी वाले बडे पद पर हैं भई !! “
बेटे ने खिडकी से बगल में लहर जैसे चलती गाडियों का काफिला देखा, तभी अचानक तेज ब्रेक लगने और धमाके की आवाज आई।
पिता ने कार रोकी, तो देखा सामने सडक पर आगे चलती मोटरसाइकिल वाले प्रोढ को कोई तेज रफ्तार कार वाला टक्कर मारकर भाग गया था । मौके पर एक अकेला पुलिस का हवलदार उसे संभालकर साइड में बैठा रहा था।
खून ज्यादा बह रहा था, हवलदार ने पिता को कहा ” खून ज्यादा बह रहा है मैं ड्यूटि से ऑफ होकर घर जा रहा हूं और मेरे पास बाईक है आपकी कार से इसे जल्दी अस्पताल ले चलते हैं शायद बच जाए।”
बेटा घबराया हुआ चुपचाप देख रहा था। पिता ने तुरंत घर पर इमरजेंसी का बहाना बनाया और जल्दी से बेटे को खींचकर कार में बिठाकर चल पडा ।
बेटा अचंभित सा चुपचाप सोच रहा था कि बडा पद वास्तव में कौनसा है !! पिता का प्रशासनिक पद या पुलिस वाले हवलदार का पद जो अभी भी उस घायल की चिंता में वहां बैठा है…………..
अगले दिन अखबार के एक कोने में दुर्घटना में घायल को गोद में उठाकर 700 मीटर दूर अस्पताल पहुंचाकर उसकी जान बचाने वाले हवलदार की फोटो सहित खबर व प्रशंसा छपी थी। बेटे के होठों पर सुकुन भरी मुस्कुराहट थी, उसे अपना जवाब मिल गया था।

दोस्तों इंसानियत का मतलब सिर्फ खुशियां बांटना नहीं होता …बड़े पद का असली मतलब अपने पास आई चुनोतियों का उस समय तक सामना करना होता है, जब तक उसका समाधान नही हो जाता। उस समय तक साथ देना होता है जब वो मुसीबत में हो, जब उसे हमारी सबसे ज्यादा ज़रुरत हो …।इसलिए हमें कभी भी अपने पद का घमंड नही करना चाहिए,हर समय मदद के लिए तैयार होकर अपने पद की गरिमा बनानी चाहिए।

The father along with his son was going back by car after attending the program at the five-star hotel. On the way, the traffic police constable stopped for not wearing seat belt and started making challans.
When the father wanted to flaunt the introduction of being an officer in the secretariat, Havildar ji left in strong words, advising him to put the seat belt from the front. The son was watching everything silently.
Father on the way “Hey I am an officer with the rank of IAS and where was that minor sergeant teaching me, what I don’t know what is necessary or not”, I do not even know how to talk to the big officers, after all we are also responsible for big posts. But it’s there!! , The son saw a convoy of vehicles moving like a wave from the window, when suddenly there was a loud braking and banging sound.
When the father stopped the car, he saw that a speeding car had run away after hitting the motorcycle moving ahead on the road in front. On the spot, a lone police constable was sitting on the side handling him.
The blood was bleeding profusely, the constable said to the father, “I am bleeding profusely, I am going home after off duty and I have a bike, let’s take it to the hospital soon, maybe it can be saved.”
The son was watching silently in bewilderment. The father immediately made an excuse for emergency at home and quickly dragged the son into the car and left.
The son was astonished and quietly thinking, what is the big post really !! The administrative post of the father or the post of the constable of the police who is still sitting there in the concern of the injured………….
The next day, news and praise were published in a corner of the newspaper, including the photo of the constable who saved the life of the injured in the accident by taking him to the hospital 700 meters away. The son had a soft smile on his lips, he had found his answer.
