शिवपुराण संहिता में कहा है कि सर्वज्ञ शिव ने संपूर्ण देहधारियों के सारे मनोरथों की सिद्धि के लिए इस ‘ॐ नमः शिवाय’ मंत्र का प्रतिपादन किया है। यह आदि षड़क्षर मंत्र संपूर्ण विद्याओं का बीज है। जैसे वट बीज में महान वृक्ष छिपा हुआ है, उसी प्रकार अत्यंत सूक्ष्म होने पर भी यह मंत्र महान अर्थ से परिपूर्ण है।
भगवान शिव को नमस्कार करने का मंत्र-
नमः शम्भवाय च मयोभवाय च।
नमः शंकराय च मयस्करय च।
नमः शिवाय च शिवतराय च।।
ईशानः सर्वविध्यानामीश्वरः सर्वभूतानां
ब्रम्हाधिपतिर्ब्रम्हणोधपतिर्ब्रम्हा शिवो मे अस्तु सदाशिवोम।।
ॐ तत्पुरषाय विद्महे महादेवाय धीमहि। तन्नो रुद्रः प्रचोदयात।।
शनि या राहु आदि ग्रह पीड़ा शांति के लिए शिव गायत्री मंत्र
ॐ तत्पुरुषाय विद्महे। महादेवाय धीमहि। तन्नो रुद्रः प्रचोदयात।।
महामृत्युंजय प्रभावशाली मंत्र-
ॐ ह्रौं जूं सः। ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्। उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात्।। सः जूं ह्रौं ॐ।।
इस मंत्र से शिव पूजा करके दूर करें पैसों की परेशानी-
मन्दारमालाङ्कुलितालकायै
कपालमालांकितशेखराय।
दिव्याम्बरायै च दिगम्बराय
नम: शिवायै च नम: शिवाय।।
श्री अखण्डानन्दबोधाय शोकसन्तापहारिणे।
सच्चिदानन्दस्वरूपाय शंकराय नमो नम:।।
शास्त्रों में मनोरथ पूर्ति व संकट मुक्ति के लिए अलग-अलग तरह की धारा से शिव का अभिषेक करना शुभ बताया गया है।
अलग-अलग धाराओं से शिव अभिषेक का फल-
जब किसी का मन बेचैन हो, निराशा से भरा हो, परिवार में कलह हो रहा हो, अनचाहे दु:ख और कष्ट मिल रहे हो तब शिव लिंग पर दूध की धारा चढ़ाना सबसे अच्छा उपाय है। इसमें भी शिव मंत्रों का उच्चारण करते रहना चाहिए।
वंश की वृद्धि के लिए शिवलिंग पर शिव सहस्त्रनाम बोलकर घी की धारा अर्पित करें।
शिव पर जलधारा से अभिषेक मन की शांति के लिए श्रेष्ठ मानी गई है।
भौतिक सुखों को पाने के लिए इत्र की धारा से शिवलिंग का अभिषेक करें।
बीमारियों से छुटकारे के लिए शहद की धारा से शिव पूजा करें।
गन्ने के रस की धारा से अभिषेक करने पर हर सुख और आनंद मिलता है।
सभी धाराओं से श्रेष्ठ है गंगाजल की धारा। शिव को गंगाधर कहा जाता है। शिव को गंगा की धार बहुत प्रिय है। गंगा जल से शिव अभिषेक करने पर चारों पुरुषार्थ की प्राप्ति होती है। इससे अभिषेक करते समय महामृत्युंजय मन्त्र जरुर बोलना चाहिए।
शिव पंचाक्षरस्तोत्र-
नागेंद्रहाराय त्रिलोचनाय
भस्मांग रागाय महेश्वराय।
नित्याय शुद्धाय दिगंबराय
तस्मे “न” काराय नमः शिवायः।।
हे महेश्वर! आप नागराज को हार स्वरूप धारण करने वाले हैं। हे (तीन नेत्रों वाले) त्रिलोचन आप भष्म से अलंकृत, नित्य (अनादि एवं अनंत) एवं शुद्ध हैं। अम्बर को वस्त्र सामान धारण करने वाले दिग्म्बर शिव, आपके न् अक्षर द्वारा जाने वाले स्वरूप को नमस्कार।
मंदाकिनी सलिल चंदन चर्चिताय
नंदीश्वर प्रमथनाथ महेश्वराय।
मंदारपुष्प बहुपुष्प सुपूजिताय
तस्मे “म” काराय नमः शिवायः।।
चन्दन से अलंकृत, एवं गंगा की धारा द्वारा शोभायमान नन्दीश्वर एवं प्रमथनाथ के स्वामी महेश्वर आप सदा मन्दार पर्वत एवं बहुदा अन्य स्रोतों से प्राप्त्य पुष्पों द्वारा पुजित हैं। हे म् स्वरूप धारी शिव, आपको नमन है।
शिवाय गौरी वदनाब्जवृंद
सूर्याय दक्षाध्वरनाशकाय।
श्री नीलकंठाय वृषभद्धजाय
तस्मै “शि” काराय नमः शिवायः।।
हे धर्म ध्वज धारी, नीलकण्ठ, शि अक्षर द्वारा जाने जाने वाले महाप्रभु, आपने ही दक्ष के दम्भ यज्ञ का विनाश किया था। माँ गौरी के कमल मुख को सूर्य सामान तेज प्रदान करने वाले शिव, आपको नमस्कार है।
वषिष्ठ कुभोदव गौतमार्य
मुनींद्र देवार्चित शेखराय।
चंद्रार्क वैश्वानर लोचनाय
तस्मै “व” काराय नमः शिवायः।।
देवगणो एवं वषिष्ठ, अगस्त्य, गौतम आदि मुनियों द्वार पुजित देवाधिदेव! सूर्य, चन्द्रमा एवं अग्नि आपके तीन नेत्र सामन हैं। हे शिव आपके व् अक्षर द्वारा विदित स्वरूप को नमस्कार है।
यज्ञस्वरूपाय जटाधराय
पिनाकस्ताय सनातनाय।
दिव्याय देवाय दिगंबराय
तस्मै “य” काराय नमः शिवायः।।
हे यज्ञस्वरूप, जटाधारी शिव आप आदि, मध्य एवं अंत रहित सनातन हैं। हे दिव्य अम्बर धारी शिव आपके शि अक्षर द्वारा जाने जाने वाले स्वरूप को नमस्कार है।
पंचाक्षरमिदं पुण्यं यः पठेत शिव सन्निधौ।
शिवलोकं वाप्नोति शिवेन सह मोदते।।
जो कोई शिव के इस पंचाक्षर मंत्र का नित्य ध्यान करता है वह शिव के पून्य लोक को प्राप्त करता है तथा शिव के साथ सुख पुर्वक निवास करता है।
लिंगाष्टकम-
ब्रह्ममुरारिसुरार्चित लिगं
निर्मलभाषितशोभित लिंग।
जन्मजदुःखविनाशक लिंग
तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगं।।
मैं उन सदाशिव लिंग को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनकी ब्रह्मा, विष्णु एवं देवताओं द्वारा अर्चना की जाति है, जो सदैव निर्मल भाषाओं द्वारा पुजित हैं तथा जो लिंग जन्म-मृत्यू के चक्र का विनाश करता है। (मोक्ष प्रदान करता है।)
देवमुनिप्रवरार्चित लिंगं,
कामदहं करुणाकर लिंगं।
रावणदर्पविनाशन लिंगं
तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगं।।
देवताओं और मुनियों द्वारा पुजित लिंग, जो काम का दमन करता है तथा करूणामयं शिव का स्वरूप है, जिसने रावण के अभिमान का भी नाश किया, उन सदाशिव लिंग को मैं प्रणाम करता हूँ।
सर्वसुगंन्धिसुलेपित लिंगं,
बुद्धिविवर्धनकारण लिंगं।
सिद्धसुरासुरवन्दित लिंगं,
तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगं।।
सभी प्रकार के सुगंधित पदार्थों द्वारा सुलेपित लिंग, जो कि बुद्धि का विकास करने वाल है तथा, सिद्ध- सुर (देवताओं) एवं असुरों सबों के लिए वन्दित है, उन सदाशिव लिंक को प्रणाम।
कनकमहामणिभूषित लिंगं,
फणिपतिवेष्टितशोभित लिंगं।
दक्षसुयज्ञविनाशन लिंगं,
तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगं।।
स्वर्ण एवं महामणियों से विभूषित, एवं सर्पों के स्वामी से शोभित सदाशिव लिंग जो कि दक्ष के यज्ञ का विनाश करने वाल है; आपको प्रणाम।
कुंकुमचंदनलेपित लिंगं,
पंङ्कजहारसुशोभित लिंगं।
संञ्चितपापविनाशिन लिंगं,
तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगं।।
कुंकुम एवं चन्दन से शोभायमान, कमल हार से शोभायमान सदाशिव लिंग जो कि सारे संञ्चित पापों से मुक्ति प्रदान करने वाला है, उन सदाशिव लिंग को प्रणाम।
देवगणार्चितसेवित लिंग,
भवैर्भक्तिभिरेवच लिंगं।
दिनकरकोटिप्रभाकर लिंगं,
तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगं।।
आप सदाशिव लिंग को प्रणाम जो कि सभी देवों एवं गणों द्वारा शुद्ध विचार एवं भावों द्वारा पुजित है तथा जो करोडों सूर्य सामान प्रकाशित हैं।
अष्टदलोपरिवेष्टित लिंगं,
सर्वसमुद्भवकारण लिंगं।
अष्टदरिद्रविनाशित लिंगं,
तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगं।।
आठों दलों में मान्य, एवं आठों प्रकार के दरिद्रता का नाश करने वाले सदाशिव लिंग सभी प्रकार के सृजन के परम कारण हैं आप सदाशिव लिंग को प्रणाम।
सुरगुरूसुरवरपूजित लिंगं,
सुरवनपुष्पसदार्चित लिंगं।
परात्परं परमात्मक लिंगं,
तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगं।।
देवताओं एवं देव गुरू द्वारा स्वर्ग के वाटिका के पुष्पों से पुजित परमात्मा स्वरूप जो कि सभी व्याख्याओं से परे है उन लिंग स्वरूप सदाशिव को प्रणाम।

It is said in Shivpuran Samhita that omniscient Shiva has rendered this mantra ‘Om Namah Shivay’ for the accomplishment of all the desires of the entire body. This Adi Shadakshar mantra is the seed of all the knowledge. Just like the great tree is hidden in the banyan seed, similarly this mantra is full of great meaning even though it is very subtle.
Mantra to greet Lord Shiva-
Obeisance to Shambhava and Mayabhava. Obeisance to Lord Shiva and Mayaskara. Obeisance to Shiva and Shivatara.
The north-eastern Lord of all kinds is the Lord of all beings May Brahma, the lord of Brahma, the lord of Brahma, the lord of Brahma, be my Shiva and may I always be Shiva.

Mahamrityunjaya Effective Mantra-
ॐ Hraun Jhun Sah. ॐ We offer our respectful obeisances to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is fragrant and enhances our auspiciousness. Free me from the bondage of death like Urvashi from the nectar Sah Jhun Hraun Om.
Remove money problems by worshiping Shiva with this mantra
Mandaramalaankulatalakayai Kapalamalankitashekharai. and to the divinely dressed Ome: Shivayai and Ome: Shivayai.
O Sri Akhandanandabodhaya, remover of sorrow and suffering. I offer my obeisances to Lord Śiva who is the embodiment of truth and bliss.
In the scriptures, anointing of Shiva with different types of streams has been said to be auspicious for fulfilling wishes and getting rid of distress.
The result of Shiva Abhishek from different streams- When someone’s mind is restless, full of despair, discord is happening in the family, unwanted sorrows and sufferings, then the best solution is to offer a stream of milk on the Shiva Linga. In this also one should keep reciting Shiva mantras.
Offer a stream of ghee on the Shivling for the growth of the dynasty by chanting Shiva Sahastranam.
Abhishek with water stream on Shiva is considered best for peace of mind.
To get physical pleasures, anoint the Shivling with a stream of perfume.
To get rid of diseases, worship Shiva with a stream of honey.
On anointing with the stream of sugarcane juice, one gets every happiness and joy.
The stream of Gangajal is the best of all streams. Shiv is called Gangadhar. Shiva is very fond of the bank of the Ganges. By anointing Shiva with Ganges water, all the four efforts are attained. The Mahamrityunjaya mantra must be chanted while doing abhishek with it.
Shiva Panchaksharastotra-
Nagendraharaaya trilochanaaya Bhasmanga Ragaya Maheshwaraya. Eternal, pure and divine Obeisance to that “no” letter.
Hey Maheshwar! You are going to wear Nagraj as a necklace. O (three-eyed) Trilochan, you are adorned with ashes, eternal (eternal and infinite) and pure. Digambara Shiva, who wears amber with clothes, salutations to your form known by the letter n.
Mandakini Salil Chandan Charchitay Nandishwar Pramathanath Maheshwara. Mandara flower multi-flower well-worshipped Obeisance to that “M” letter.
Adorned with sandalwood, and adorned by the stream of Ganga, Lord of Nandi and Pramathanath, you are always worshiped by flowers obtained from Mandara Mountain and often other sources. O Shiva in the form of M, I salute you.

Oh Lord of the flag of Dharma, Neelkanth, known by the letter Shi, it was you who destroyed the arrogant sacrifice of Daksha. Salutations to you Shiva, who gives the lotus face of Maa Gauri as bright as the sun.

Devadhidev worshiped by Devgano and sages like Vashishtha, Agastya, Gautam etc! Sun, moon and fire are your three eyes. O Shiva, salutations to the form known by your V Akshar.

Oh form of Yagya, Jatadhari Shiva, you are eternal without beginning, middle and end. O Divine Amber Dhari Shiva, salutations to your form known by the letter Shi.
He who recites this holy five-syllable mantra in the presence of Lord Shiva. He attains the world of Shiva and enjoys with Shiva.
Whoever meditates on this five-letter mantra of Shiva, attains the holy abode of Shiva and resides happily with Shiva.
Lingashtakam-
Brahmamurarisuraarchita lingam Purely spoken adorned penis. Linga, the destroyer of birth pain I bow to that Sadashiva Lingam.
I bow to that Sadashiv Linga, which is worshiped by Brahma, Vishnu and the gods, which is always worshiped by pure languages and which destroys the cycle of birth and death. (Gives salvation.)
Lingam worshiped by the great sages of the gods, Kamadaham karunakara lingam. Lingam destroying the pride of Ravana I bow to that Sadashiva Lingam.
I bow down to that Sada Shiva Linga, worshiped by gods and sages, which suppresses lust and is the form of compassionate Shiva, who destroyed the pride of Ravana.
Lingam anointed with all fragrances, Gender is the cause of intelligence enhancement. Siddhasurasuravandita Lingam, I bow to that Sadashiva Lingam.
