सर प्रभाशङ्कर पट्टनी लंदनकी सहकपर पैदल निकले थे। भारतीय वेश, लंबी दाढ़ी और हाथमें मोटा सोटा लिये यह भारतीय बुड्डा अंग्रेज लड़कोंको विचित्र लगा। कुछ बालकोंका समुदाय एकत्र हो गया। लड़के सर प्रभाशङ्करपर कंकड़ियाँ फेंकने लगे।
सर प्रभाशङ्कर न झालाये और न लड़कोंको उन्होंनेडाँटा । वे बोले-‘वाह ! बालको! तुममें उत्साह और स्फूर्ति तो है। आओ ! मैं तुम्हें जलपान करनेके लिये आमन्त्रित करता हूँ।’
बालक इस अद्भुत वृद्धकी सुन्दर अंग्रेजी और मधुर स्वरसे प्रभावित हुए। सर प्रभाशङ्कर उन्हें पासके होटलमें ले गये और अपने पैसोंसे उन्हें जलपान कराया।

Sir Prabhashankar Pattani had set out on foot to London. English boys found this Indian old man strange with Indian dress, long beard and thick stick in hand. Some boys’ community got together. The boys started throwing pebbles at Sir Prabhashankar.
Prabhashankar did not blush nor did he scold the boys. They said – ‘ Wow! Balko! You have enthusiasm and enthusiasm. Come ! I invite you for refreshments.’
The children were impressed by the beautiful English and sweet voice of this wonderful old lady. Sir Prabhashankar took him to a nearby hotel and got him refreshments from his own money.
