प्रभु-प्राप्तिका मार्ग
द्वितीय सिक्खगुरु अंगददेवजीका पूर्वनाम लहिणा था। तीर्थयात्रा करते समय एक बार उनकी मुलाकात आदिगुरु नानकदेवसे हुई और उनके ज्ञानसे प्रभावित हो वे उनके होकर रह गये। एक बार नानकदेवने अपने ज्येष्ठ पुत्र श्रीचन्दसे पूछा – ‘तुझे किस वस्तुकी इच्छा है ?’ श्रीचन्दने उत्तर दिया- ‘मुझे ईश्वर भक्तिके अलावा और कुछ नहीं चाहिये।’ तब उन्होंने अपने कनिष्ठ पुत्र लक्ष्मीचन्दसे भी यही प्रश्न किया। वह बोला- ‘मेरी अभिलाषा धन सम्पत्ति प्राप्त करनेकी है।’ इसपर नानकदेवने लक्ष्मीचन्दको काफी धन दिया तथा श्रीचन्दको आशीर्वाद दिया- ‘जा,तुझे वैराग्य प्राप्त हो।’ समीप ही लहिणा भी खड़े हुए थे। नानकदेवने उनसे भी अपनी अभिलाषा व्यक्त करनेको कहा। इसपर लहिणा गद्गद कण्ठसे बोले-‘दीनबन्धो! मुझे न तो प्रभुके दर्शनकी इच्छा है, न ही धन-वैभवकी, बल्कि मुझे गुरु और गुरु-सेवकोंकी सेवा करनेका अवसर मिले, तो मैं अपने आपको धन्य समझँगा।’
गुरु नानक भाव-विभोर हो लहिणासे बोले ‘पुत्र ! जो ईश्वरके बन्दोंकी सेवा करना चाहता है, प्रभु उसीको प्राप्त होते हैं। सेवा-धर्मको समझनेके कारण गुरु-गद्दीका सच्चा अधिकारी तो तू ही है।’
Lord’s way
Second Sikh Guru Angaddevji’s previous name was Lahina. While on a pilgrimage, once he met Adiguru Nanak Dev and being influenced by his knowledge, he remained with him. Once Nanakdev asked his eldest son Srichand – ‘What do you desire for?’ Srichand replied- ‘I don’t want anything other than devotion to God.’ Then he asked the same question to his younger son Laxmichand. He said- ‘My desire is to get wealth.’ On this, Nanakdev gave a lot of money to Laxmichand and blessed Srichand- ‘Go, you may attain quietness’. Lahina was also standing nearby. Nanakdev also asked him to express his desire. On this, Lahina Gadgad spoke loudly – ‘Deenbandho! I have no desire to see the Lord, nor for wealth and glory, but if I get an opportunity to serve the Guru and the Guru-servants, then I will consider myself blessed.’
Guru Nanak was overwhelmed with emotion and said to Lahina, ‘Son! The one who wants to serve the servants of God, he gets the Lord. Because of understanding service-religion, you are the rightful owner of the throne.’
