परमात्माकी मृत्यु
इंग्लैण्ड में एक धर्मपरायण अंग्रेज दम्पती रहते थे। किसी व्यवसायमें घाटा पड़ जानेसे पति महोदय बड़े चिन्तित रहने लगे। पत्नीने देखा कि पति रात-दिन सोच-फिक्रमें ही डूबे रहते हैं। उसने पतिको बोध प्रदान करनेके लिये युक्तिका सहारा लिया।
किसीकी मृत्युपर शोक प्रदर्शित करनेके लिये इंग्लैण्डमें काले कपड़े पहननेका रिवाज है। उस स्त्रीने काले कपड़े धारण किये। पतिने उससे पूछा- ‘कौन मर गया है ? काले कपड़े क्यों पहन लिये हैं?’
स्त्रीने कहा- ‘आपकी दृष्टिमें भगवान्को मृत्यु हो गयी है, अतः मैंने काले कपड़े पहन लिये हैं।
पुरुषको आश्चर्य हुआ। उसने कहा- ‘कैसी नासमझीकी बात करती हो? क्या परमात्माकी कभी मृत्यु हो सकती है ?’ पत्नीने उत्तर दिया- ‘तो फिर आप किस बातकी चिन्ता करते हैं ? चिन्ता करनेवाला तो परम प्रभु है।’
पति लज्जित हो गया, उसे अपनी गलती समझमें आ गयी। उस दिनसे उसने सभी चिन्ताएँ छोड़ दीं।
हमारी चिन्ताके लिये तो परमात्मा बैठे हैं। ‘मेरा स्वामी समर्थ है।’ यह मानकर निश्चिन्ततासे भगवान्का चिन्तन करो। मनुष्य व्यर्थ ही चिन्ता करके मरा जा रहा है। कि हाय, मेरा क्या होगा ? तुम अपनी सारी चिन्ताएँ परमात्माको सौंप दो। [ श्रीरामचन्द्र केशवजी डोंगरे ]
divine death
A pious English couple lived in England. Husband started getting very worried due to loss in some business. The wife saw that the husband was engrossed in thoughts day and night. She resorted to trickery to make her husband understand.
It is customary in England to wear black clothes to show mourning over someone’s death. That woman wore black clothes. The husband asked her – ‘ Who has died? Why are you wearing black clothes?’
The woman said – ‘ In your view God has died, so I have worn black clothes.
The man was surprised. He said- ‘What kind of nonsense do you talk about? Can God ever die?’ The wife replied – ‘ Then what are you worried about? The one who worries is the Supreme Lord.
The husband was ashamed, he understood his mistake. From that day he left all worries.
