वैशाख के महीने में क्योंकि सूर्य के ताप में वृद्धि हो जाती है इसलिए विष्णु के भक्तगणों को जल दान करने से श्रीहरि अत्यंत प्रसन्न होते हैं। भगवान श्री हरि कृपा करके उनसे अभिन्न तुलसी वृक्ष को जल दान का एक सुयोग अथवा शुभ अवसर प्रदान करते हैं लेकिन तुलसी को जल दान क्यों करना चाहिए ?
तुलसी श्रीकृष्ण की प्रेयसी हैं। उनकी कृपा के फल से ही हम भगवान श्री कृष्ण की सेवा का अवसर प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। तुलसी देवी के संबंध में कहा गया है तुलसी के दर्शन मात्र से ही संपूर्ण पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं, जल दान करने से यम भय दूर हो जाता है, रोपण करने से यानी उनको बोने से उनकी कृपा से कृष्ण भक्ति वृद्धि होती है और श्रीहरि के चरण में तुलसी अर्पण करने से कृष्ण प्रेम प्राप्त होता है।
पद्मपुराण के सृष्टि खंड में वैष्णव श्रेष्ठ श्री महादेव अपने पुत्र कार्तिक को कहते हैं –
“सर्वेभ्य पत्र पुस्पेभ्य सत्यमा तुलसी शीवा सर्व काम प्रदत्सुतधा वैष्णवी विष्णु सुख प्रिया।”
समस्त पत्र और पुष्प में तुलसी सर्वश्रेष्ठ हैं। तुलसी सर्व कामना प्रदान करने वाली, मंगलमय, श्रुधा, शुख्या, वैष्णवी, विष्णु प्रेयसी एवं सभी लोको में परम शुभाय् है।
भगवान शिव कहते हैं –
“यो मंजरी दलरे तुलस्या विष्णु मर्त्ये तस्या पुण्य फलम कर्तितुम नैव शक्तते,
तत्र केशव सानिध्य यात्रस्ती तुलसी वनम तत्रा ब्रह्म च कमला सर्वदेवगने।”
हे कार्तिक! जो व्यक्ति भक्ति भाव से प्रतिदिन तुलसी मंजरी अर्पण कर भगवान श्रीहरि की आराधना करता है यहां तक कि मैं भी उसके पुण्य का वर्णन करने में अक्षम हूं। जहां भी तुलसी का वन होता है भगवान श्री गोविंद वही वास करते हैं और भगवान गोविंद की सेवा के लिए लक्ष्मी ब्रह्मा और सारे देवता वही वास करते हैं।
मूलतः भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने जगत में बध जीव गणों को उनकी सेवा करने का शुभ अवसर प्रदान करने के लिए भगवान श्री कृष्ण ही तुलसी रूप में आविर्भूत हुए हैं एवं उन्होंने तुलसी पौधे को सर्वाधिक प्रिय रूप में स्वीकार किया है। पाताल खंड में यमराज ब्राह्मण को तुलसी की महिमा का वर्णन करते हैं –
वैशाख में तुलसी पत्र द्वारा श्री हरि की सेवा के प्रसंग में वह कहते हैं कि जो व्यक्ति संपूर्ण वैशाख मास में अनन्य भक्ति भाव से तुलसी द्वारा त्री संध्या भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की अर्चना करता है उस व्यक्ति का और पुनर्जन्म नहीं होता।
तुलसी देवी की अनंत महिमा अनंत शास्त्रों में अनंत शास्त्रों में वर्णित है लेकिन यह महिमा असीमित है, अनंत है।
ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण में प्रकृति खंड में ऐसा वर्णन है –
“शिरोधार्य च सर्वे सामीप सताम विश्व पावनी जीवन मुक्ता मुक्तिदायिनी चा भजेताम हरि भक्ति दान।”
जो सबके शिरोधार्य है, उपासया है, जीवन मुक्ता है, मुक्ति दायिनी है और श्री हरि की भक्ति प्रदान करने वाली हैं, वह समस्त विश्व को पवित्र करने वाली हैं। ऐसी समस्त विश्व को पवित्र करने वाली विश्व पावनी तुलसी देवी को मैं सादर प्रणाम करता हूं🙏
समग्र वैदिक शास्त्रों के संकलन करने वाले तथा संपादक श्री व्यास देव तुलसी की महिमा करते हुए पद्मपुराण के सृष्टि खंड में कहते हैं –
“पूजन कीर्तने ध्याने परोपने धारने कलो तुलसी ध्यते पापं स्वर्ग मोक्ष दादाती,
उपदेशम दृश्य दृष्या स्यम आचरते पुनः स याति परम अनुस्थनाम माधवसे के कनम्।”
तुलसी देवी की पूजा, कीर्तन, ध्यान, रोपण और धारण पाप को नाश करने वाला होता है और इससे परम गति प्राप्त होती है।
जो व्यक्ति किसी अन्य को तुलसी द्वारा भगवान श्री हरि की अर्चना करने का उपदेश देता है और स्वयं भी अर्चना करता है वही वह श्री माधव के धाम में गमन करता है। केवल तुलसी देवी के नाम उच्चारण मात्र से ही श्रीहरि प्रसन्न हो जाते हैं और इसके परिणाम स्वरूप पाप समूह नष्ट हो जाता है और अक्षय पुण्य प्राप्त होता है।
पदम् पुराण के ब्रह्म खंड में कहां गया है –
“गंगाताम सरिता श्रेष्ठ: विष्णु ब्रह्मा महेश्वरा:
देव: तीर्थ पुष्करा तेश्थ्यम तुलसी दले।”
गंगा आदि समस्त पवित्र नदी एवं ब्रह्मा विष्णु महेश्वर पुष्कर आदि समस्त तीर्थ सर्वथा तुलसी दल में विराजमान रहते हैं।
ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण में बताया गया है कि;
समस्त पृथ्वी में साढ़े तीन करोड़ तीर्थ हैं। वह तुलसी उद्विग्न के मूल में तीर्थ निवास करते हैं। तुलसी देवी की कृपा से भक्तवृंद कृष्ण भक्ति प्राप्त करते हैं और वृंदावनवास की योग्यता अर्जित करते हैं। वृंदादेवी तुलसीदेवी समस्त विश्व को पावन करने में सक्षम है और सब के द्वारा ही पूज्य है।
समस्त पुष्पों के मध्य वो सर्वश्रेष्ठ हैं और श्री हरि सारे देवता, ब्राह्मण और वैष्णवगण के आनंद का वर्धन करने वाली हैं। वे अतुलनीय और कृष्ण की जीवन स्वरूपनी हैं। जो नित्य तुलसी सेवा करते हैं वह समस्त क्लेश से मुक्त होकर अभीष्ट सिद्धि प्राप्त करते हैं। अतः श्रीहरि की अत्यंत प्रिय तुलसी को जल दान अवश्य करना चाहिए।
इसके अतिरिक्त इस समय भगवान से अभिन्न प्रकाश श्री शालिग्राम शिला को भी जल दान की व्यवस्था की जाती है।
शास्त्रों में तुलसी देवी को जल दान करने पर तुलसी के मूल में जो जल बच जाता है उसका भी विशेष महत्व वर्णित किया गया है। इस विषय में एक कहानी बताई गई है –
एक समय एक वैष्णव तुलसी देवी को जल प्रदान कर और परिक्रमा करके घर वापस जा रहे थे कि कुछ समय पश्चात एक भूखा कुत्ता वहां आकर तुलसी देवी के मूल में पड़े हुए जल था उसको पीने लगा लेकिन तभी वहां एक बाघ आया और उसको कहने लगा – दुष्ट कुकुर! तुम क्यों मेरे घर में खाना चोरी करने आए हो और चोरी भी करना ठीक है लेकिन मिट्टी का बर्तन क्यों तोड़ कर आए हो? तुम्हारे लिए उचित दंड केवल मृत्युदंड है।
इसके उपरांत बाघ उस कुत्ते को वही मार देता है और तभी यमदूत के गण उस कुत्ते को लेने आते हैं लेकिन उसी समय विष्णु दूतगण वहां आते हैं और उनको रोकते हैं।
कहते है यह कुत्ता पूर्व जन्म में जघन्य पाप करने के कारण नाना प्रकार के दंड पाने के योग्य हो गया था लेकिन केवल तुलसी के पौधे के मूल में पड़े जल का पान करने के फल से उसका समस्त पाप नष्ट हो चुका है और तो और वह विष्णु गमन करने की योग्यता अर्जित कर चुका है अतः वह कुत्ता सुंदर रूप को प्राप्त करता है और वैकुंठ के दूत गणों के साथ भगवद् धाम गमन करता है।
जगत जीवों को कृपा करने के उद्देश्य से ही भगवान की अतरंगशक्ति श्रीमती राधारानी का प्रकाश वृंदा तुलसी देवी के रूप में इस जगत में प्रकट हुआ है। उसी प्रकार भगवान श्री हरि भी बद्ध जीवो को माया के बंधन से मुक्त करने के लिए विचित्र लीला के माध्यम से अपने अभिन्न स्वरुप शालिग्राम शिला रूप में प्रकाशित हुए हैं। चारों वेदों के अध्ययन से लोगों को जो फल प्राप्त होता है केवल शालिग्राम शिला के अर्चना करने मात्र से ही वह पूर्ण फल प्राप्त किया जाना संभव है जो शालिग्राम शिला के स्नान जल, चरणामृत आदि को नित्य पान करते हैं वह महा पवित्र होते हैं एवं जीवन के अंत में भगवद धाम गमन करते हैं। 🌷जय मां तुलसी।🌷 🌷जय श्री हरि विष्णु जी।🌷 🙏🙏
In the month of Vaishakh, because the heat of the sun increases, Sri Hari is very pleased by donating water to the devotees of Vishnu. By the grace of Lord Shri Hari, he provides an opportunity or auspicious occasion to donate water to the Tulsi tree, but why should Tulsi be donated?
Tulsi is the lover of Shri Krishna. It is only by His grace that we can get the opportunity to serve Lord Shri Krishna. In relation to Tulsi Devi, it is said that just by seeing Tulsi, all sins are destroyed, by donating water, the fear of Yama goes away, by planting it means by sowing it, devotion to Krishna increases and by the grace of Shri Hari Krishna’s love is attained by offering Tulsi at the feet.
Vaishnav Shrestha Shri Mahadev says to his son Kartik in Srishti Khand of Padmapurana –
“Sarvebhya patra puspebhya satyama tulasi shiva sarva kama pradatsutadha vaishnavi vishnu sukh priya.
Tulsi is the best among all letters and flowers. Tulsi is the giver of all wishes, auspicious, Shrudha, Shukhya, Vaishnavi, Vishnu’s lover and the ultimate auspicious in all the worlds.
Lord Shiva says –
“Yo manjari dalre tulasya vishnu martye tasya pinya phalam kartitum nai shaktate, There, in the presence of Kesava, there is a forest of Tulsi, there is Brahma and a lotus in the host of all the gods.
Hey Karthik! The person who worships Lord Sri Hari by offering Tulsi Manjari daily with devotion, even I am unable to describe his virtue. Wherever there is Tulsi forest, Lord Shri Govind resides there and Lakshmi Brahma and all the deities reside there to serve Lord Govind.
Basically, Lord Shri Krishna has appeared in the form of Tulsi to provide an auspicious opportunity to serve the living beings killed in the world and has accepted the Tulsi plant as the most beloved. In Patal Khand, Yamraj describes the glory of Tulsi to a Brahmin –
In the context of serving Shri Hari with Tulsi letter in Vaishakh, he says that the person who worships Lord Krishna on three evenings with Tulsi with pure devotion in the entire Vaishakh month, that person does not get reborn.
The infinite glory of Tulsi Devi is described in infinite scriptures in infinite scriptures but this glory is unlimited, infinite.
In the Brahmavaivarta Purana, there is such a description in the Prakriti section –
“Shirodharya cha sarve saamip satam visva pavani jeevan mukta muktidayini cha bhajetam hari bhakti dan.
The one who is everyone’s Shirodharya, worshiped, life is free, freedom is right and the one who gives devotion to Shri Hari, she is the one who purifies the whole world. I offer my respectful obeisances to Tulsi Devi, who purifies the entire world.
Shri Vyas Dev, the compiler and editor of the entire Vedic scriptures, while glorifying Tulsi, says in the creation section of Padmapurana –
“Pooja kirtane dhyane paropane dharane kalo tulasi dhyate papam swarga moksha dadati, He who sees the precepts and sees the sights and practices them again goes to the supreme anusthanam Madhavase ke kanam.
Worship, kirtan, meditation, planting and wearing of Tulsi Devi is the destroyer of sins and it gives ultimate speed.
The person who preaches someone else to worship Lord Shri Hari with Tulsi and worships himself, he goes to the abode of Shri Madhav. Only by uttering the name of Tulsi Devi, Sri Hari becomes pleased and as a result, the group of sins is destroyed and renewable virtue is attained.
Where has it gone in the Brahma section of Padma Purana –
“Gangatam Sarita Shrestha: Vishnu Brahma Maheshwara: God: Tirtha Pushkara Teshthyam Tulsi Dale.
All the holy rivers like Ganga and all the places of pilgrimage like Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwar, Pushkar always reside in Tulsi Dal.
It is told in the Brahmavaivarta Purana that;
There are three and a half crore pilgrimages in the whole earth. He resides in the root of Tulsi Udvigna. By the grace of Tulsi Devi, devotees attain devotion to Krishna and earn the merit of Vrindavanvas. Vrindadevi Tulsidevi is capable of purifying the whole world and is worshiped by all.
She is the best among all flowers and Shri Hari is the one who increases the happiness of all the gods, Brahmins and Vaishnavas. She is incomparable and the life form of Krishna. Those who serve Tulsi daily, get free from all troubles and get desired success. That’s why water must be donated to Sri Hari’s very favorite Tulsi.
Apart from this, arrangements are also made to donate water to Shri Shaligram Shila, the integral light of God.
In the scriptures, after donating water to Tulsi Devi, the special importance of the water that remains in the root of Tulsi has also been described. A story has been told in this regard –
Once upon a time, a Vaishnava was going back home after offering water to Tulsi Devi and circumambulating it, that after some time a hungry dog came there and started drinking the water lying at the root of Tulsi Devi, but then a tiger came there and said to him – Bad dog! Why have you come to my house to steal food and it is okay to steal but why have you come by breaking an earthen pot? The only appropriate punishment for you is the death penalty.
After this the tiger kills that dog there itself and only then the messengers of Yamdoot come to take that dog but at the same time the messengers of Vishnu come there and stop them.
It is said that this dog was eligible for various types of punishments due to heinous sins in its previous birth, but only by drinking the water lying at the root of the Tulsi plant, all its sins have been destroyed and then it is Vishnu. Has earned the ability to move, so that dog attains a beautiful form and travels to the abode of God with the messengers of Vaikuntha.
For the purpose of blessing the living beings of the world, the light of Lord Shrimati Radharani has appeared in this world in the form of Vrinda Tulsi Devi. In the same way, Lord Shri Hari has also appeared in his integral form Shaligram Shila form through strange leela to free the bound creatures from the bondage of Maya. The fruit that people get from the study of the four Vedas, it is possible to get the full fruit only by worshiping the Shaligram rock. Those who regularly drink the bath water, Charanamrit etc. of the Shaligram rock, they become very pure and live life. At the end of Bhagavad Dham goes. 🌷 Hail Mother Tulsi. 🌷 🌷 Hail Shri Hari Vishnu ji. 🌷 🙏🙏
