अयोध्या के राजा दशरथ एक बार भ्रमण करते हुए वन की ओर निकले वहां उनका समाना बाली से हो गया। राजा दशरथ की किसी बात से नाराज हो बाली ने उन्हें युद्ध के लिए चुनोती दी। राजा दशरथ की तीनो रानियों में से कैकयी अश्त्र शस्त्र एवं रथ चालन में पारंगत थी।
**अतः अक्सर राजा दशरथ जब कभी कही भ्रमण के लिए जाते तो कैकयी को भी अपने साथ ले जाते थे इसलिए कई बार वह युद्ध में राजा दशरथ के साथ होती थी। जब बाली एवं राजा दशरथ के मध्य भयंकर युद्ध चल रहा था उस समय संयोग वश रानी कैकयी भी उनके साथ थी।
**युद्ध में बाली राजा दशरथ पर भारी पड़ने लगा वह इसलिए क्योकि बाली को यह वरदान प्राप्त था की उसकी दृष्टि यदि किसी पर भी पद जाए तो उसकी आधी शक्ति बाली को प्राप्त हो जाती थी। अतः यह तो निश्चित था की उन दोनों के युद्ध में हर राजा दशरथ की ही होगी।
**राजा दशरथ के युद्ध हारने पर बाली ने उनके सामने एक शर्त रखी की या तो वे अपनी पत्नी कैकयी को वहां छोड़ जाए या रघुकुल की शान अपना मुकुट यहां पर छोड़ जाए। तब राजा दशरथ को अपना मुकुट वहां छोड़ रानी कैकेयी के साथ वापस अयोध्या लौटना पड़ा।
**रानी कैकयी को यह बात बहुत दुखी, आखिर एक स्त्री अपने पति के अपमान को अपने सामने कैसे सह सकती थी। यह बात उन्हें हर पल काटे की तरह चुभने लगी की उनके कारण राजा दशरथ को अपना मुकुट छोड़ना पड़ा।
**वह राज मुकुट की वापसी की चिंता में रहतीं थीं। जब श्री रामजी के राजतिलक का समय आया तब दशरथ जी व कैकयी को मुकुट को लेकर चर्चा हुई। यह बात तो केवल यही दोनों जानते थे। कैकेयी ने रघुकुल की आन को वापस लाने के लिए श्री राम के वनवास का कलंक अपने ऊपर ले लिया और श्री राम को वन भिजवाया। उन्होंने श्री राम से कहा भी था कि बाली से मुकुट वापस लेकर आना है।
**श्री राम जी ने जब बाली को मारकर गिरा दिया। उसके बाद उनका बाली के साथ संवाद होने लगा। प्रभु ने अपना परिचय देकर बाली से अपने कुल के शान मुकुट के बारे में पूछा था। तब बाली ने बताया- रावण को मैंने बंदी बनाया था। जब वह भागा तो साथ में छल से वह मुकुट भी लेकर भाग गया। प्रभु मेरे पुत्र को सेवा में ले लें। वह अपने प्राणों की बाजी लगाकर आपका मुकुट लेकर आएगा।
/*जब अंगद श्री राम जी के दूत बनकर रावण की सभा में गए। वहां उन्होंने सभा में अपने पैर जमा दिए और उपस्थित वीरों को अपना पैर हिलाकर दिखाने की चुनौती दे दी। रावण के महल के सभी योद्धा ने अपनी पूरी ताकत अंगद के पैर को हिलाने में लगाई परन्तु कोई भी योद्धा सफल नहीं हो पाया।
**जब रावण योद्धा अंगद के पैर को हिला न पाए तो स्वयं रावण अंगद के पास पहुचा और उसके पैर को हिलाने के लिए जैसे ही झुका उसके सर से वह मुकुट गिर गया। अंगद वह मुकुट लेकर वापस श्री राम के पास चले आये। यह महिमा थी रघुकुल के राज मुकुट की।
** ग्रहदशा जब राजा दसरथ के पास गई तो उन्हें पीड़ा झेलनी पड़ी। बाली से जब रावण वह मुकुट लेकर गया तो तो बाली को अपने प्राणों को आहूत देनी पड़ी। इसके बाद जब अंगद रावण से वह मुकुट लेकर गया तो रावण के भी प्राण गए।
**तथा कैकयी के कारण ही रघुकुल के लाज बच सकी यदि कैकयी श्री राम को वनवास नही भेजती तो रघुकुल सम्मान वापस नही लोट पाता. कैकयी ने कुल के सम्मान के लिए सभी कलंक एवं अपयश अपने ऊपर ले लिए अतः श्री राम अपनी माताओ सबसे ज्यादा प्रेम कैकयी को करते थे।

King Dasharatha of Ayodhya once while traveling towards the forest, where he met Bali. Angered by something of King Dasharatha, Bali challenged him to war. Of the three queens of King Dasharatha, Kaikeyi was well versed in weaponry and chariot driving.
** So often King Dasharatha used to take Kaikeyi with him whenever he went for a tour, so many times he used to accompany King Dasharatha in the war. When a fierce battle was going on between Bali and King Dasharatha, incidentally Queen Kaikeyi was also with them.
** In the war, Bali became heavy on King Dasharatha, because Bali had a boon that if his eyes fell on anyone, then half of his power would go to Bali. Therefore, it was certain that every king in the war of both of them would belong to Dasharatha.
** After King Dasharatha lost the war, Bali put a condition in front of him that either he should leave his wife Kaikeyi there or the pride of Raghukul should leave his crown here. Then King Dasharatha had to leave his crown there and return to Ayodhya with Queen Kaikeyi.
** Queen Kaikeyi was very sad about this, after all how could a woman bear the humiliation of her husband in front of her. This thing started pricking him like a bite every moment that due to him King Dasharatha had to give up his crown.
** She used to worry about the return of Raj Mukut. When the time came for Shri Ramji’s coronation, Dasharatha and Kaikeyi had a discussion about the crown. Only both of them knew this thing. Kaikeyi took the stigma of Shri Ram’s exile and sent Shri Ram to the forest to bring back Raghukul’s pride. He had also told Shri Ram to bring back the crown from Bali.
** When Shri Ram ji killed and dropped Bali. After that he started having communication with Bali. The Lord introduced himself and asked Bali about the crown of glory of his family. Then Bali told – I had taken Ravana captive. When he ran away, along with deceit he ran away with the crown. Lord, take my son into service. He will bring your crown by risking his life.
/* When Angad went to Ravana’s meeting as the messenger of Shri Ram. There he set his feet in the meeting and challenged the present heroes to show his feet. All the warriors of Ravana’s palace put all their strength to move Angad’s leg but none of the warriors could succeed.
When Ravana could not move the warrior Angad’s leg, Ravana himself reached Angad and as soon as he bent down to move his leg, the crown fell from his head. Angad came back to Shri Ram with that crown. This was the glory of the crown of Raghukul.
** When the planetary condition went to King Dasaratha, he had to suffer. When Ravana took that crown from Bali, Bali had to sacrifice his life. After this, when Angad took that crown from Ravana, then Ravana also lost his life.
** And only because of Kaikeyi, Raghukul’s shame could be saved, if Kaikeyi did not send Shri Ram to exile, Raghukul would not have returned the respect. Kaikeyi took all the stigma and infamy on himself for the honor of the family, so Shri Ram used to love Kaikeyi the most for his mothers. Hail Lord Rama
