अच्छा कार ड्राइवर
एक बार उद्योगपति हेनरी फोर्डने एक कार ड्राइवरके लिये अखबारमें विज्ञापन दिया। तीन व्यक्ति इंटरव्यू लिये आये । फोर्डने उनकी विशेषता पूछी। पहला व्यक्ति बोला- मैं भीड़में भी सौ मील प्रति घंटेकी गतिसे गाड़ी चला सकता हूँ। दूसरेने कहा कि मैं सोलह फीट चौड़े गड्ढेको भी फाँद सकता हूँ।
तीसरे व्यक्तिने कहा, मैं 30-35 मीलकी गतिसे गाड़ी चलाता हूँ। मेरे लिये अपनी सुरक्षा, मेरे परिवारकी सुरक्षा, आपकी और आपके परिवारकी सुरक्षा, साथ ही गाड़ीकी सुरक्षा महत्त्वपूर्ण है। फोर्डने उसे रख लिया। अर्थात् बिना संयमके जीवनमें कोई भी अन्य विशेषता अर्थहीन है।

Once the industrialist Henry Ford advertised in the newspaper for a car driver. Three persons came for interview. Ford asked for his specialty. The first person said – I can drive at the speed of hundred miles per hour even in the crowd. The other said that I can jump even a sixteen feet wide pit.
The third person said, I drive at 30-35 mph. My safety, my family’s safety, yours and your family’s safety, as well as the safety of the vehicle are important to me. Ford kept it. That is, without restraint any other specialty in life is meaningless.
