चक्रवर्ती सम्राट दशरथ जी के यहाँ पुत्र हुए…
एक नही चार…
अब बालक का जन्म होता है तो दाई की आवश्यकता तो पड़ेगी ना… नाल जो काटना है…
चक्रवर्ती सम्राट दशरथ जी ने दाई को बुलवाने के लिए… अपने सेवक भेजे… पर नही दाई को तो रथ चाहिए… तभी आएगी… आज उसकी भी हठ है… ।
रथ भिजवाया गया… उसमें बैठ कर दाई आई… ।
कौशल्या रानी के पास आकर बोली… हे रानी ! ऐसे नाल नही काटूंगी… पहले नेग दो… ।
नेग ? अरे ! दे दूंगी… पहले नाल तो काट… ना ! महारानी जी ! पहले तुम्हारे गले में जो हार है… वो हार लुंगी… तब नाल काटूंगी तुम्हारे लला की ।
ये हार ?… अरे नही… कुछ और ले लो… ये तो मुझे महाराज ने पुत्र जन्म की ख़ुशी में दिया है… अरी ! दाई कुछ और मांग ले… ।
ना !… मुझे तो हार ही चाहिए… और हार भी जो आपके कण्ठ में सुशोभित हो रहा है… वो हार !
और क्यों न माँगू… ऐसे ही नही आई हूँ… बुलाने पर आई हूँ… महारानी ! महाराज ने रथ भिजवाया है मुझे लाने के लिए ।
अरे ! यहाँ शिव गणेश इन्द्रादि सब बिना बुलाये डोल रहे हैं आपकी अयोध्या में… पर मैं… मैं तो बुलाने पर आई हूँ ।
आहा ! कितनी सुंदर बधाई चल रही थी कल अवध के एक प्रसिद्ध मन्दिर में… मैं उसी बधाई में था कल… रात के 1 बजे तक चली थी वो बधाई… सुनने वाले मग्न थे… बधाई के गान में सब झूम रहे थे… दाई मान ही नही रही है…
शास्त्रीय संगीत में कितना सुंदर पद गाया था…
गुलाब जल का छिड़काव बीच-बीच में किया जा रहा था… फूलों को सब एक-दूसरे पर उछाल रहे थे… ।
पैसे, खिलौने, मिठाई… सब लुटाया जा रहा था… अवध नरेश के पुत्र जो हुआ है… जगत के पालन हार की बधाई जो थी ।
नाच रहे थे लोग… झूम रहे थे नर नारी… ।
मन नही लगता… मन नही टिकता… मन बहुत चंचल है !
कितने परेशान हो… क्यों ? क्यों दोष दे रहे हो बेचारे मन को !
माना की बहुत चंचल है मन… हाथी से भी शक्तिशाली है मन ।
पर भैया ! ये तुम्हारे डण्डा लेकर पीछे पड़े रहने से मन वश में नही होगा… बल्कि और उद्दण्ड हो जाएगा… कर के देख लो !
क्या करोगे ?… प्राणायाम ?… अजी ! रहने दो… प्राणायाम से या तुम्हारे योगा से मन भला वश में हुआ है…
जबरदस्ती करने से कुछ नही होने वाला… दमन का परिणाम आपको पता नही है क्या ?… विश्वामित्र जैसे ऋषि की मेनका ने सारी ऐंठ निकाल दी… फिर दमन करके क्या पा जाओगे !
बस एक ही उपाय है… प्रेम की मजबूत रस्सी से इस पागल हाथी के समान मन को बाँध क्यों नही देते ।
ये प्रेम से वश में होता है… बस प्रेम से… और कोई उपाय नही है… ।
क्या प्रेम में मन एक ही जगह नही लगा रहता ?
अपने प्रिय को छोड़ कर कहीं जा सकता है…?
अरे ! मन को कहीं ले जाना चाहो तब भी नही जाता…
उस समय तो मन की गति पंगु हो जाती है…
अनुभव तो होगा ही… नही ?
साधकों ! भक्ति के आचार्यों ने इस पर शोध किया है… फिर इस निष्कर्ष में पहुँचे कि… प्रेम में मन सहज लग जाता है… लगाना नही पड़ता… इसलिये भक्ति दर्शन ने ये प्रेम का मार्ग दिया ।
जिसमें न आपको नाक दबाने की जरूरत… न फुँ फां करके साँस लेकर मन को शान्त करने की जरूरत… बस प्रेम करने की जरूरत है… उस ईश्वर को अपना बनाने की ज़रूरत है… ।
अपना प्रिय बनाने की जरूरत है…।
बिलकुल मैं मानता हूँ… इस मन को विषय विष चखने की आदत जो आपने डाल दी है… ये रह रहकर वहीं जाता है… पर आप एक काम क्यों नही करते… प्रेम के सरोवर में इसे डुबो दो ना !
यही बात भक्ति दर्शन ने कही है…
तभी तो अजन्मा श्रीराम के जन्म की बधाई गाना… नाचना… उसमें झूमना… उत्साह से उस उत्सव में अपने आपको जोड़ना…
इससे क्या होगा ?… अरे ! क्या होगा ?… मन लग जाएगा ।
ज्ञान में मन नही लगेगा… जबरदस्ती लगाओ बात अलग है… पर कब तक ? फिर उसी विषय का चिन्तन करने लगेगा ।
योग में मन बोर हो जाएगा… कब तक रोगी बने फिरोगे ?
कि ये करना… कि ये नही करना… ये तो रोगी के लक्षण है ।
साधकों ! प्रेम के मार्ग में सहज है मन का लगना !
“हल्दी लगे न फिटकरी रंग चोखो आये”
बस कुछ नही करना है आपको बस प्रेम करना है… उस ईश्वर से ।
आप ये मत कहना कि देखा नही तो प्रेम कैसे होगा ?
देखने की जरूरत नही पड़ती… किसी के बारे में सुन-सुन कर भी प्रेम हो जाता है… विचार कीजिये…
पहले जमाने में… शादी से पहले कहाँ देखते थे लड़का लड़की एक-दूसरे को… पर लड़की लड़के के बारे में सुन-सुन कर… कल्पना कर-कर के प्रेम हो जाता था कि नही ?
तो जाओ ! प्रेम की महफ़िल में थोड़ा बैठो… उस ईश्वर के बारे में सुनो… निराकार की बात यहाँ कहाँ हो रही है… यहाँ तो साकार की बात हो रही है… अब ये मत कहना कि ईश्वर तो निराकार ही है ।
अगर ईश्वर मात्र निराकार ही हो… और वो साकार न हो सके तो वो ईश्वर ही क्या हुआ ?
ईश्वर तो वो है… जो सब-कुछ हो… साकार भी निराकार भी ।
तो साकार ईश्वर से प्रेम करो ना…
आप कहोगे क्या होगा उससे ?
तो भक्ति दर्शन ने कहा… आपका मन एक में लग जाएगा… खेल खेल में… ।
भक्ति दर्शन ने कितनी मनोवैज्ञानिक बात करी है… मोह को छोड़ना नही है… बस उसे मन मोहन में लगाना है ।
आपको पता है मन नयी-नयी सुन्दरता खोजता है… पुराने से जल्दी ही बोर हो जाता है… तो भक्ति दर्शन ने कहा… ईश्वर की सुन्दरता में नया नयापन है… संसार से ऊब जाएगा ये मन… पक्का है… चाहे विश्व सुन्दरी मिल जाए या विश्व सुंदर मिल जाए… ऊबते हुए देखा नही गया है क्या ?
पर ईश्वर में तो नित नूतन सौंदर्य है… उस प्रेम के अगाध सुन्दरता में अपना मन लगाओ… एक बार लग जाएगा न तो फिर कभी नही जाएगा कहीं आपका मन… ।
चंचल पक्षी है ये मन… पर प्रेम तो बाज पक्षी है… बाज की चपेट में आते ही अच्छे-अच्छे पक्षी भी शान्त हो जाते है… ।
अच्छा ! अब हम क्या करें ?
तो एक बार उस ईश्वर से अपना नाता जोड़ लो… फिर प्रेम अपने आप हो जाएगा… अकेले में उससे बातें करो… अपनी बात उसे बताओ… रोज बताओ ।
पागलपन है ये ?
तो ये प्रेम कोई बुद्धि का क्षेत्र थोड़े ही है… ये तो प्रेम है ।
थोड़ा नाचो ! अकेले में गुनगुनाओ… हँसो , रोओ !
क्यों ? दुनिया के सामने तो हँसते और रोते हो… फिर ईश्वर के सामने क्यों नही ?
ईश्वर तो सुनता है… दुनिया तो तुम्हारी सुनती भी नही है ।
दुनिया के सामने कितना रोते हो… पर उसे तुम्हारे आँसू कीमती भी नही लगते… पर यहाँ एक बून्द आँसू की गिराकर तो देखो… वो तुरन्त सुनता है… सुनेगा… और कीमत भी समझेगा तुम्हारे आँसू की ।
उत्सव मनाओ… जैसे राम जन्म उत्सव है… कृष्ण जन्म उत्सव है… बहुत उत्सव है हमारे यहाँ ।
पर दिल से मनाओ… अपना मान कर मनाओ… बिना कुछ चाहे मनाओ… कुछ चाहा तो प्रेम नही हुआ ना !
ये सब हमारे भक्ति के आचार्यों ने हम मन के कमजोर व्यक्तियों के लिए सरल मार्ग बताया… ।
मन आपका शान्त हो जाएगा… मन आपका इधर-उधर नही भटकेगा… पर मात्र माला जपने से तो ये नही होगा… इसके लिए तो हृदय से मानना पड़ेगा… अपना मानना पड़ेगा ।
इतना अपना मानना पड़ेगा…
बल्लभ सम्प्रदाय में अभी भी ऐसे-ऐसे साधक हैं हमने एक गुजराती भाई को देखा… जो पुष्टि मार्गीय थे… उनके दो बेटे थे… पर तीसरा बेटा वो कृष्ण को मानते थे… और जब उन्होंने अपनी सम्पत्ति का बंटवारा किया तो तीनों बेटों को सम्पत्ति दी… एक भाग अपने कन्हैया को भी दिया… उससे भोग की व्यवस्था… श्रंगार की… उत्सव की व्यवस्था के लिए… कृष्ण पुत्र के नाम से बैंक में उस पैसे को रख दिया ।
ऐसा अपनापन… कहना नही है… हृदय से भी मानना है ।
तब देखिये आपका मन शान्त होता है या नही… आपका मन उसी में लगता है या नही !
चक्रवर्ती सम्राट दशरथ जी आये… दाई अड़ गयी है…
अरे ! महारानी कौशल्या ! ये क्या कह रही है…?
दशरथ जी ने पूछा ।
हार मांग रही है… महारानी ने कहा ।
दे दो… दे दो… ऐसे हार कितने न्यौछावर अपने लला पर।
कौशल्या जी ने उतार कर दे दिया हार…
पर वो दाई जैसे ही राम लला के पास गयी…
और राम के उस अपूर्व सौंदर्य को देखा… अपने गले का हार उतार कर राम लला के गले में पहना दिया ।
चारों ओर जय जयकार गूँज उठा… सब आनन्दित हो गए ।
लोग इस बधाई को गा-गा कर प्रफुल्लित हो रहे थे ।
मुझे तो बहुत आनन्द आ रहा था… मैं झूम उठा था ।
ये भक्ति दर्शन का अपना एक मनोवैज्ञानिक तरीका था… ताकि हमारा मन सहजता से ईश्वर में लगे ।
ये उत्सव मैंने अवध के लक्ष्मण किला में मैंने देखा था कल… देखा नही था मैं भी उस राम जन्म बधाई का एक हिस्सा था… ये मेरे लिए एक धन्य घड़ी थी… मुझे महसूस होने लगा था कि राम जन्म हुआ है… हुआ था नही… हुआ है… और कोने में बैठ कर मैं भी देख रहा हूँ उस उत्सव को ।
आंगने में बधैया बाजे…
नाचत गावत करत कुतूहल , बीती रजनी जागने में ।

Rose water was being sprinkled in between… everyone was throwing flowers at each other….
Money, toys, sweets… everything was being looted… who has become the son of the King of Awadh… who was congratulated for the victory of the world.
People were dancing… men and women were dancing….
The mind doesn’t feel… the mind doesn’t last… the mind is very fickle!
Why are you so worried? Why are you blaming the poor mind!
It means that the mind is very fickle… The mind is more powerful than an elephant.
But brother! This mind will not be under control by lying behind you with a stick… Rather it will become more defiant… Try it!
What will you do?… Pranayama?… Aji! Let it be… the mind has been well controlled by Pranayama or by your yoga…
Nothing is going to happen by force… You don’t know the result of suppression, do you?… Menaka removed all the entanglements of a sage like Vishwamitra… Then what will you get by suppressing!
There is only one solution… Why don’t you tie this mad elephant-like mind with the strong rope of love.
It is controlled by love… just by love… there is no other way….
Does the mind not remain fixed in one place in love?
Can leave your beloved and go somewhere…?
Hey ! Even if you want to take the mind somewhere, it does not go…
At that time the speed of the mind becomes paralyzed…
There must be an experience… isn’t it?
Seekers! The acharyas of Bhakti have done research on this… then came to the conclusion that… the mind gets comfortable in love… it does not have to be applied… That is why Bhakti philosophy has given this path of love.
In which you don’t need to press your nose… nor need to calm your mind by breathing… just need to love… need to make that God yours….
Need to make your dear….
Absolutely I agree… you have inculcated this habit of tasting poison in this mind… it keeps going there… but why don’t you do one thing… drown it in the lake of love!
This is what Bhakti philosophy has said…
That’s why singing congratulations on the birth of unborn Shri Ram… dancing… dancing in it… enthusiastically joining yourself in that festival…
What will happen with this?… Hey! What will happen?… The mind will be engaged.
The mind will not be engaged in knowledge… forcefully it is a different matter… but for how long? Then he will start thinking about the same subject.
The mind will get bored in yoga… how long will you be patient?
To do this… or not to do this… these are the symptoms of a patient.
Seekers! It is easy to engage the mind in the path of love!
“Haldi Lage Na Fitkari Rang Chokho Aaye”
You just don’t have to do anything, you just have to love… that God.
Don’t say that you haven’t seen, otherwise how will there be love?
There is no need to see… one falls in love even after hearing about someone… think about it…
In earlier times… where did boys and girls see each other before marriage… but after hearing about the boy… the girl used to fall in love by imagining or not?
So go! Sit for a while in the gathering of love… Listen about that God… Where is the talk of the formless being happening here… Here the talk of the corporeal is being talked about… Now don’t say that God is formless.
If God is only formless… and he cannot become real, then what is that God?
God is that… who is everything… corporeal as well as formless.
So love the corporeal God, don’t you…
You will say what will happen to him?
So Bhakti Darshan said… your mind will be engaged in one… playing the game….
Bhakti Darshan has talked so psychologically… You don’t have to give up attachment… You just have to keep it in your mind.
Do you know that the mind searches for new beauty… It gets bored with the old one… So Bhakti Darshan said… There is newness in the beauty of God… This mind will get bored of the world… It is sure… Whether it finds the beauty of the world or May the world be found beautiful… haven’t you seen being bored?
But there is ever-new beauty in God… Put your mind in the immense beauty of that love… Once it will be engaged, then your mind will never go anywhere again….
This mind is a fickle bird… but love is an eagle bird… even good birds become calm as soon as they come in the grip of an eagle….
Good ! What should we do now?
So once establish your relationship with that God… then love will happen automatically… talk to him in private… tell him your words… tell him everyday.
Is this madness?
So this love is not an area of intellect… it is love.
Dance a little! Hum alone… laugh, cry!
Why ? You laugh and cry in front of the world then why not in front of God?
God listens… the world doesn’t even listen to you.
How much do you cry in front of the world… But it doesn’t even consider your tears as precious… But drop a drop of tears here and see… He immediately listens… will listen… and will also understand the value of your tears.
Celebrate… Like Ram Janam Utsav… Krishna Janam Utsav… We have many festivals here.
But celebrate with your heart… Celebrate as your own… Celebrate without wanting anything… If you wanted something then it was not love, was it?
All these our masters of devotion told us the easy way for the weak of mind….
Your mind will become calm… your mind will not wander here and there… but this will not happen just by chanting the rosary… for this you will have to believe from your heart… you will have to believe yourself.
You have to accept this much…
There are still such sadhaks in Ballabh sect. We saw a Gujarati brother… who was a Pushti Margiya… he had two sons… but the third son believed in Krishna… and when he divided his property, he gave property to all three sons. … Gave a part to my Kanhaiya also… Arrangements for enjoyment from him… Arrangements for decoration… Celebrations… Kept that money in the bank in the name of Krishna’s son.
Such affinity… is not to be said… has to be accepted from the heart as well.
Then see whether your mind becomes calm or not… whether your mind is engaged in it or not!
Chakravarti Samrat Dasharath ji aaye… Dai aad gayi hai…
Hey ! Queen Kaushalya! What is she saying…?
Dashrath ji asked.
She is asking for defeat… the queen said.
Give… give… how many such defeats sacrificed on their Lala.
Kaushalya ji took off her necklace…
But as soon as that midwife went to Ram Lala…
And saw that incomparable beauty of Ram… I took off my necklace and put it around Ram Lala’s neck.
Cheers echoed all around… everyone rejoiced.
People were getting elated by singing this congratulation.
I was enjoying a lot… I was in awe.
This was a psychological method of Bhakti philosophy… so that our mind can be easily engaged in God.
I had seen this celebration yesterday at Laxman Fort in Awadh… I had not seen that I was also a part of that Ram Janam Badhaai… It was a blessed moment for me… I started feeling that Ram was born… Had not happened… It has happened… and sitting in the corner, I am also watching that festival.
Badhaiya Baje in the courtyard…
Dancing and singing, curious, spent the night awake.
