हनुमानजी की अद्भुत बुद्धिमत्ता

एक बार माँ सीता ने प्रभु श्रीराम से कहा- प्रभु आप हनुमानजी के ज्ञान और बुद्धिमत्ता की प्रशंसा करते रहते हैं, उनकी बुद्धिमत्ता का कोई प्रसङ्ग सुनाइए!

भगवान् ने कहा- जानकी। जब रावण के समस्त योद्धा मारे गए तब रावण ने विजय की कामना से विजय यज्ञ किया। इस संदेश को सुनकर समस्त देव-मानव-वानर-भालूओं में हलचल मच गयी। यदि रावण का यज्ञ सफल हो गया तब तो रावण अपराजित हो जाएगा और फिर उसे कोई पराजित नहीं कर सकेगा।

किन्तु ये सुनकर हमारे हनुमानजी को चैन कहाँ ? पहुँच गए रावण की यज्ञशाला में। वहाँ ब्राह्मण के स्वरूप मेंं यज्ञ करने वाले ब्राह्मणों की बहुत सेवा की। हनुमानजी की सेवा से पुरोहित प्रसन्न हो गए और वर मांगने को कहा, तो हनुमान् जी ने कहा मुझे कोई वर नहीं चाहिए हाँ यदि कुछ देना ही चाहते हैं तो आप जिस सम्पुट से हवन कर रहे हैं उसका मात्र एक अक्षर परिवर्तन कर दीजिए।

ब्राह्मणों ने हनुमानजी की इच्छा पूरी कर दी और वे देवी चण्डी के जिस मन्त्र का सम्पुट लगा रहे थे उसका एक अक्षर परिवर्तन कर दिया।

मन्त्र था-
जयत्वं देवी चामुण्डे जय भूतार्तिहारिणि।
जय सर्वगते देवी कालरात्रि नमोऽस्तुते।।

इस मन्त्र के ‘भूतार्तिहारिणि’ शब्द में एक अक्षर परिवर्तन करके ‘भूतार्तिकारिणी’ कर दिया। जिससे ‘भूतार्तिहारिणि’ अर्थात् समस्त भूतों (जीवों के) कष्टों को दूर करने वाली भगवती की जगह ‘भूतार्तिकारिणी’ अर्थात् समस्त भूतों (जीवों को) कष्ट देने वाली भगवती अर्थ हो गया और जब यज्ञ पूर्ण हुआ तो लङ्का के समस्त राक्षसों का विनाश हो गया। जब रावण को ज्ञात हुआ तो वो हनुमानजी की प्रशंसा करने लगा !

Once Mother Sita said to Lord Shriram – Lord, you keep praising Hanumanji’s knowledge and intelligence, tell me a story about his intelligence!

God said – Janaki. When all the warriors of Ravana were killed, then Ravana performed Vijay Yagya with the desire of victory. Hearing this message, there was a stir among all the gods, humans, monkeys and bears. If Ravana’s yagya is successful, then Ravana will be undefeated and then no one will be able to defeat him.

But where is our Hanumanji at peace after hearing this? Reached Ravana’s sacrificial fire. There, in the form of a Brahmin, he did a lot of service to the Brahmins who performed the Yagya. The priest was pleased with Hanumanji’s service and asked to ask for a groom, then Hanumanji said, “I don’t want any groom, yes, if you want to give something, then just change one letter of the package with which you are performing Havan.”

The Brahmins fulfilled Hanumanji’s wish and changed one letter of the mantra they were chanting for Goddess Chandi.

The mantra was- Victory to Goddess Chamunda, destroyer of the sufferings of ghosts. Jaya Sarvagate Devi Kalaratri Namostute.

By changing one letter in the word ‘Bhootartiharini’ of this mantra, it became ‘Bhootartikarini’. Due to which ‘Bhootartiharini’ i.e. Bhagwati who removes the sufferings of all ghosts (living beings) instead of ‘Bhootartikarini’ means Bhagwati who gives pain to all ghosts (living beings) and when the yagya was completed, all the demons of Lanka were destroyed. . When Ravana came to know, he started praising Hanumanji!
