ब्रजराज गौशाला में बछड़ों भी सँभाल करने गये हैं और ब्रजरानी अपने प्राणधन ललन के लिये भोजन बनाने में संलग्न हैं। राम-श्याम दोनो भाई आँगन में खेल रहे हैं। अभी तक दोनो भाई मैया या बाबा की गोद में चढ़कर ही द्वारदेश एवं गोशाला आदि जाते हैं, परन्तु आज स्वतंत्र रूप से दोनों तोरण द्वार की ओर कभी खड़े होकर कुछ डग और कभी घुटरूनि बल चल द्वार से बाहर तक चले आये हैं।
आम्र की शीतल छाया में कुछ वत्स विश्राम कर रहे हैं। धीरे धीरे दोनों उनके पास तक जा पँहुचे। बछड़े की सुकोमल पूँछ देखकर आश्चर्यचकित से होकर विचारने लगे, यह क्या है ? फिर दोनो भाइयों ने अपने नेत्रकमल किंचित नचाकर मानों कुछ परामर्श-सा किया, तदोपरांत कौतुहलवश दोनों ने एक ही साथ पूँछ को दोनो हाथों से मुट्ठी बाँधकर पकड़ लिया।
अचानक पूँछ खिंच जाने से बछड़ा उठ खड़ा हुआ और कुछ भयभीत सा हो भागने लगा। अचिन्त्य लीला महाशक्ति ने इसी क्षण श्यामसुन्दर की स्वाभाविक अनन्त असीम सर्वज्ञता पर बाललीलोचित यवनिका गिरा दी है। अब दोनों भाई बछड़े से खिंचे जाते हुये भयभीत हो उठे।
जिसके अनंतानंत ज्ञान भण्डार के एक छुद्रतम कण-ज्ञान से समस्त विश्व में कर्तव्याकर्तव्य ज्ञान का संचार होता है, वे भगवान श्री कृष्ण यह ज्ञान भूल गये कि पूँछ छोड़ देने से ही बछड़े का सम्बन्ध छूट जायेगा, अपितु इसके विपरीत उन्होने तो अपनी रक्षा के लिये वत्सपुच्छ को और भी अधिक शक्ति से जकड़ लिया और माँ-माँ ! बाबा-बाबा ! पुकार कर जोर जोर से रोने व चीत्कार करने लगे।
ठीक उसी समय समस्त ब्रज वनिताओं की हृदय वीणा पर भी श्यामसुन्दर की करूणा मिश्रित पुकार झंकृत हो उठी, क्योंकि उनके हृदय तन्तु तो निरन्तर श्याममय होकर श्यामसुन्दर से ही जुड़े रहते हैं। अतः जो गोपी जहाँ जिस अवस्था में थी, दौड़ी चली आई। सबने देखा कि भयभीत गोवत्स धीरे धीरे भाग रहा है और उसकी पूँछ पकडे नीलमणि और दाऊ माँ-माँ और बाबा-बाबा की टेर लगाये खिंचे चले जा रहे हैं। अचिन्त्य लीला शक्ति के प्रभाव से कुछ क्षण सभी किंकर्त्तव्यविमूढ़ सी हो गयीं।
इसी समय नंदरानी और नंदराय जी भी वहाँ आ पहुंचे। पहलें तो दोनो को आवाज लगाई कि पूँछ छोड़ दें , फिर स्वयं ही नंदराय जी ने आगे बढ़कर दोनों लाडलों के हाथों से पूँछ छुड़वा दी। नंदरानी ने दौड़ कर तत्काल दोनों को गोद में उठाकर पुचकारा और नेत्र चूमे व अपने में भीँच लिया।
उधर ब्रजसुंदरियों में हँसी का स्रोत फूट पड़ा। बाल लीलाबिहारी की इस अद्भुत ललित लीला को देखकर सभी हँसते- हँसते लोट-पोट हो गयीं। फिर वात्सल्यातिरेक में तुरंत प्रेम के आँसू छलछल करने लगे। इसके पश्चात् भक्त वाञ्छाकल्पतरू बृजराज नंदन ने बछड़ों को अपने कर का स्पर्श कर योगीन्द्र-मुनीन्द्र को भी दुर्लभ आनंद देते हुए , इस परम सुन्दर लीला का अनेक बार प्रकटीकरण किया।
दोनो भाई कभी बछड़ों की पूँछ पकड़ लेते, कुछ देर उसके पीछे खिंचते चले जाते और जब पूँछ छूट जाती तो दूसरे की पकड़ लेते, तो कभी एक साथ 3-4 गोवत्स की पूँछ पकड़ लेते। बछड़े कूदते फाँदते तो श्यामसुन्दर हँसने हँसते लोट पोट हो जाते। दृश्य यह होता कि आगें-आगे कर-स्पर्श के आनंद से पुलकित होता बछड़ा और पीछे पीछे पूँछ में टंगे हुए ब्रजनयनानन्द पुरूषोंत्तम स्वयं भगवान श्री कृष्ण एवं दाऊ जी।
ब्रज देवियाँ इस परम मनोहर लीला को देखकर आनंद से हँसते हँसते आत्मविस्मृत हो जातीं और उनका गृहकार्य सब छूट जाता-
“यर्ह्यगनादर्शनीयकुमारलीला वन्तर्ब्रजे तदबलाः प्रगृहीतपुच्छे:।
वत्सेरितस्तत उभावनुकृष्यमाणौ प्रेक्षन्त्य उज्झितगृहा जहृषुर्हसन्त्य:।।”

Brajraj has also gone to the Gaushala to take care of the calves and Brajrani is engaged in cooking food for her beloved son. Both Ram and Shyam are playing in the courtyard. Till now both the brothers go to Dvaradesh and Goshala etc. by climbing on mother’s or Baba’s lap, but today both the Torans have come independently standing towards the door, sometimes walking a few steps and sometimes kneeling, till outside the door. Some vats are resting in the cool shade of the mango tree. Slowly both of them reached near him. Surprised to see the soft tail of the calf, he started thinking, what is this? Then both the brothers danced their lotus eyes a little, as if they consulted something, and then out of curiosity, both of them caught hold of the tail together with both hands clenched into fists.
Suddenly the calf stood up due to the pulling of its tail and started running away somewhat frightened. Achintya Leela Mahashakti at this very moment has dropped the Ballilochit Yavnika on Shyamsundar’s natural infinite infinite omniscience. Now both the brothers got scared while being pulled by the calf. Lord Shri Krishna, whose knowledge of duty is communicated to the whole world from the tiniest particle of the infinite store of knowledge, forgot the knowledge that only by leaving the tail, the relationship with the calf will be freed, but on the contrary, he did it for his own protection. Caught Vatspuchh with even more force and mother-mother! Baba-Baba! Started crying and screaming loudly by calling.
At the same time, Shyamsundar’s call mixed with compassion also rang out on the heart veena of all the Braj Vanitas, because their heart fibers are constantly attached to Shyamsundar by being dark. That’s why whatever state Gopi was in, she came running. Everyone saw that the frightened Govats were running slowly and holding their tails, Neelmani and Dau were dragging them with the cries of Mother-Mother and Baba-Baba. Due to the effect of unimaginable Leela Shakti, for a few moments everyone became confused. At the same time Nandrani and Nandray ji also reached there. At first he called out to both of them to leave their tails, then Nandray ji himself went ahead and made them leave their tails from the hands of both the darlings. Nandrani ran and immediately took both of them in her lap and cried and kissed their eyes and got wet in her.
On the other hand, the source of laughter burst out among the Brajsundaris. Seeing this wonderful Lalit Leela of Bal Leela Bihari, everyone burst into laughter. Then immediately tears of love started trickling down in Vatsalyatirek. After this, devotee Vanchhakalpataru Brijraj Nandan manifested this supremely beautiful Leela many times, giving rare pleasure to Yogindra-Munindra by touching the calves with his hands. Sometimes both the brothers used to hold the tail of the calf, used to drag it for some time and when the tail was left, they would hold the tail of the other, sometimes they would hold the tail of 3-4 cows together. When the calves used to jump and jump, Shyamsundar used to roll over laughing. The scene would have been that the calf would have been ecstatic with the joy of touching it in front and behind and Brajnayananand the best men himself Lord Shri Krishna and Dau ji hanging by the tail. The goddesses of Braj used to forget themselves while laughing with joy seeing this most beautiful leela and all their homework would be missed- “Yarhyaganadarshaniyakumarleela vantarbraje tadbala: pragheetpuchhe. Vatseritastat Ubhavanukrishyamanau Prakshantya Ujjitgriha Jahrshurhasantya:.
