“वो सुदामा के चिउरा”

सुदामा का स्नान भोजनादि सब हो चुका था, श्रीकृष्ण अब अपने इस सखा का प्रेम से हाथ पकडे वहाँ ले जाते हैं जहाँ एक साथ सोलह हजार एक सौ आठ उनकी रानियाँ बैठी हुई हैं ।

यहाँ क्यों ? सुदामा इतनी सारी रानियों को जहां देखते हैं वहीं असहज हो उठते हैं ।

ये सब हमारे बारे में जानना चाहती हैं , इनकी उत्सुकता है सुदामा ! हमारी मित्रता को लेकर , और ये गलत भी तो नही है । श्रीकृष्ण सुदामा को सहज बनाकर ऊँचे सिंहासन में बिठाते हैं ।

रुक्मणी को इशारा करके श्रीकृष्ण अपने पास बुलाते हैं , रुक्मणी के साथ साथ सत्यभामा भी उठकर चली आती हैं ।

आहा ! सुदामा के पीछे खड़ी हैं ये दोनों सृष्टि की मूल शक्ति , श्रीशक्ति और भूशक्ति , लक्ष्मी और पृथ्वी । ये दोनों सुदामा को पंखा झल रही हैं ।

ये ब्राह्मण कितना भाग्यशाली है ना ! महारानी जाम्बवती इस अनुपम दृश्य को देखकर अपने साथ बैठी महारानी भद्रा से कहती हैं ।

हाँ , देखो तो लक्ष्मीस्वरूपा महारानी रुक्मणी स्वयं पंखा कर रही हैं , भद्रा ने जाम्बवती की बात पर “हाँ” मिलाई ।

अरे भद्रा ! ये क्या कह रही हो , उस अद्भुत द्र्श्य को तुम भूल गयीं जब भगवान नारायण स्वरूप श्रीकृष्ण स्वयं जिनके नीचे बैठ कर चरण पखार रहे थे , वहाँ लक्ष्मी अगर पंखा झले तो क्या बड़ी बात है । जाम्बवती ने कहा इसलिए तो ….धन्य है ये ब्राह्मण, भद्रा ।

ये अवधूत भिक्षु ! महारानी रुक्मणी पीछे पंखा कर रही हैं और सोच रही हैं ।

और मैं महालक्ष्मी , क्या तप क्या व्रत क्या दान इसने किया होगा कि मैं महालक्ष्मी स्वयं इनकी सेवा में उपस्थित हूँ !

जीजी ! तप नही कोई महातप इसने किया होगा । सत्यभामा पृथ्वी की अवतार हैं , वो भी समझ गयीं कि महालक्ष्मी के मन में अभी क्या चल रहा है , इसलिए वो भी बोल उठीं थीं ।

इस अद्भुत अलौकिक द्र्श्य को जिसने भी देखा वो गदगद हो उठा था ।

जिस सिंहासन में सुदामा को आज श्रीकृष्ण ने बैठाया, उस में द्वारिकाधीश के सिवा आज तक कोई बैठा नही था । वो दुबला पतला ब्राह्मण , संकोच से जो दवा जा रहा है , धन वैभव इसने आज तक देखा ही नही था , फिर ये तो द्वारिका का वैभव था ।

सुदामा ! श्रीकृष्ण सुदामा का नाम लेते हैं ।

हाँ , सुदामा कहीं खोए हुए थे , वो भी तो सोच रहे थे कि इतना वैभव होने के बाद भी मेरा मित्र कितना सरल और सहज है , धन्य है ये , पर जैसे ही श्रीकृष्ण ने सुदामा को पुकारा ।

हाँ , क्या बात है ! सुदामा श्रीकृष्ण से पूछते हैं ।

हमारी भी कोई भाभी है ? श्रीकृष्ण सुदामा से ये प्रश्न करते हुये हंसते हैं ।

तू भी ना , इतने लोगों के बीच में ऐसा प्रश्न कौन करता है ? सुदामा कुछ ज़्यादा ही संकोची हैं ।

ले , मैंने कुछ गलत पूछा हो तो बताओ , मैंने यही तो पूछा है कि तुम्हारा विवाह हुआ या नही ?

इसमें गलत क्या है सुदामा , विवाह हुआ हो तो कह दो हुआ है , नही हुआ तो ….नही ।

सिर को झुका लिया लाल मुखमण्डल हो गया सुदामा जी का , फिर बड़े शरमा के बोले ,

तेरी भाभी आगयी है ।

“जय हो”। श्रीकृष्ण ने करतल ध्वनि की तो समस्त रानियों ने भी उनका अनुसरण किया ।

कुछ देर हंसी छाइ रही सभा में , और कुछ देर तक श्रीकृष्ण भी हंसते रहे ।

अब इतना क्यो हंस रहा है ?

सुदामा को लगता है कि ये कुछ भी कह देगा इसलिए श्रीकृष्ण को चुप कराना चाहते हैं ।

वो , गुरुकुल में …….श्रीकृष्ण फिर हंसने लगे । आगे तो बोल , सुदामा रानियों को देखते हैं ,

हे भगवान , ये सब क्या सोच रही होंगी ….सुदामा फिर चुप कराना चाहते हैं श्रीकृष्ण को ….पर ।

तुम से हम लोग गुरुकुल में कहते थे , “सुदामा विवाह करोगे”…..तब तुम हमलोगों को पीटने के लिए भागते थे , पर वाह ! विवाह कर लिया तुमने ।

सुदामा शरमा रहे हैं ………सिर को झुका कर बैठ गए हैं ।

कैसे मित्र हो , विवाह कर लिया भाभी ले आए , और अपने इस मित्र को स्मरण भी नही किया ।

ये क्या बोल रहा है कृष्ण ! सुदामा ने श्रीकृष्ण की ओर देखा चौंके ।

हाँ , बताओ , भूल गए अपने इस मित्र को विवाह में । श्रीकृष्ण अपने मित्र से विनोद कर रहे हैं ।

समस्त रानियाँ मैत्री का ऐसा विमल रूप देखकर आनंदित हैं ।

रानियाँ अपने पति की हर बात पर हंस रही हैं , और कभी कभी तो करतल ध्वनि भी करती जा रही हैं ।

सुदामा को लग रहा है , यार ! भाभियों के सामने ये सब क्यों पूछ रहा है , एकान्त में पूछ ना , मैं सब बताऊँगा । पर श्रीकृष्ण को अपने सखा से आनन्द लेना है ।

सुदामा ! हम भी नाचते तुम्हारे विवाह में , कितना अच्छा होता , पर तुम हमें भूल गए ।

सुदामा को ग़ुस्सा आया , कृष्ण ! मेरा तो एक ही विवाह हुआ , मैं बुलाना भूल गया , पर तेरे तो “इतने” विवाह हुए हैं , तेने कभी हमें बुलाया ? सुदामा की ये बात सुनते ही श्रीकृष्ण चुप ।

अरी भाभियों ! अब करो करतल ध्वनि ! सुदामा को अब उत्साह आया था ।

रानियाँ हंस रही हैं , आपस में कह रही हैं, उत्तर तो सटीक दिया हमारे नाथ को ।

बोल , अब कोई उत्तर है तेरे पास …….सुदामा की अब बारी थी ।

देखो मित्र ! तुम्हारा विवाह हुआ होगा तो पहले सगाई हुई होगी , फिर विवाह हुआ होगा , मतलब विधि तो हुई होगी ना ! पर यहाँ तो सुबह तक कँवारे हैं और शाम को देखो तो घर में बहू आगयी है ……श्री कृष्ण हंसते हुए बोले थे ।

तो सब ऐसे ही आयी हैं ? सुदामा को आश्चर्य हो रहा है ।

हाँ, हाँ कोई खुद ही आगयी हैं तो किसी को भगा के लाए हैं ।

ये कहते हुए रुक्मणी की ओर श्रीकृष्ण ने देखा था ।

अच्छा छोड़ो इन बातों को …..सुदामा ! मैंने ये बात इसलिए छेड़ी है कि अगर मेरी भाभी आयी है …तो उसने अपने इस देवर के लिए क्या भेजा है ? श्रीकृष्ण ये कहते हुए भाव में डूब गए थे ।

सुदामा ने जैसे ही श्रीकृष्ण के मुख से ये सुना कि …..मेरी भाभी ने मेरे लिए क्या भेजा है ……

सुदामा तो संकोच में पड़ गए ……क्या दूँ मैं इस द्वारिकाधीश को ! वो तीन मुट्ठी चिउरा ?

सुवर्ण की जिसने पुरी बनाई हो उसे सुदामा दे ……….चिउरा ?

हंसी नही होगी मेरी ? सुदामा सोचते जा रहे हैं , चलो मेरी हंसी हो कोई बात नही , दुनिया सुदामा पर हंसती है …..पर यहाँ तो मेरे साथ श्रीकृष्ण जुड़ा हुआ है , ये महारानियाँ बड़े बड़े घरों की हैं , ये क्या सोचेंगी ? कृष्ण के मित्र ऐसे होते हैं , जो चिउरा लेकर आया है ।

क्या हुआ सुदामा ! मेरी भाभी ने क्या भेजा है मेरे लिए ? श्रीकृष्ण फिर पूछ रहे हैं ।

कितना आनन्द आता था ना गुरुकुल में …….कृष्ण ! तुम शस्त्र विद्या , राजनीति इन सब में आगे थे किन्तु ब्रह्म विद्या में तो मैं ही था आगे । सुदामा बात को बदल रहे हैं ।

सुदामा ! पर मेरी भाभी ने क्या भेजा है ….ये बताओ ।

अरे ! तुम्हें पता है वो गुरुमाता ………श्रीकृष्ण ने कहा सब पता है सुदामा ! तुम तो ये बताओ कि मेरी भाभी ने मेरे लिए क्या भेजा है ?

सुदामा असत्य बोलते नही हैं , सत्य कैसे बोलें …..चिउरा दिखाऊँ ! ऐसी कनक पुरी में आकर !

सुदामा अब कुछ नही कह रहे , पर श्रीकृष्ण सुदामा के चरणों में एकाएक आकर बैठ गए थे ।

वो बस सुदामा के नेत्रों में देख रहे हैं , फिर पूछते हैं घर में सब ठीक है ना ?

हाँ, सब ठीक है ……मेरी भाभी ? हाँ तेरी भाभी ठीक है …..बालक ? हाँ , बालक भी प्रसन्न हैं ,

कोई कमी है सुदामा घर में ? ना , ना कृष्ण ! कोई कमी नही है , सब आनन्द है , तुम्हारी कृपा है सब आनन्द है ।

ये काँख में क्या है तुम्हारे ……….श्रीकृष्ण ने एकाएक सुदामा के काँख में हाथ डाला और वो चिउरा की पोटरी निकाल ली थी ।

ये क्या …..पोटरी को हाथ में लेकर श्रीकृष्ण ने जैसे ही देखा , रो पड़े थे द्वारिकानाथ ।

मन ही मन सोचने लगे – इतनी ग़रीबी है घर में , चिउरा बांधने के लिए भी एक कपड़ा साबुत नही है…..पर धन्य है तू सुदामा ……एक बार अपनी ग़रीबी का बखान नही किया , मैंने पूछा भी तो कह दिया सब आनन्द है , सोने की मेरी द्वारिका भी तुझ को बदल नही पाई , तू विश्व का सबसे बड़ा दाता है सुदामा ….तू विश्व का सबसे बड़ा श्रीमंत है सुदामा ! मैं तुझे क्या दे सकता हूँ आज जगतपति को ही तूने दिया है । रानियाँ चकित हैं , पोटरी को ही देखकर ये रो रहे हैं ……।

श्रीकृष्ण ने पोटरी खोली , चिउरा , कच्चे चिउरा थे उसमें । कमल नयन के नयन बरस पड़े थे ,

एक मुट्ठी चिउरा ली द्वारकेश ने , भाव सिंधु में पूरी तरह से डूब चुके हैं ये ।

जैसे ही उन चिउरा को मुँह में डाला ……..एक लोक की सम्पत्ति मैंने सुदामा को दी ।

दूसरी मुट्ठी मुँह में डाली , दो लोक की संपत्ति मैंने सुदामा को दी ।

पर अब जैसे ही तीसरी मुट्ठी मुँह दे रहे थे चिउरा के …..तभी रुक्मणी ने हाथ पकड़ लिया ।

सुदामा ने भी देखा , समस्त रानियों ने भी देखा, श्रीकृष्ण को कुछ रोष भी आगया था रुक्मणी पर।

रुक्मणी ! क्यो तुम इस रस में बाधक बन गयीं ? मैं और मेरा मित्र हम दोनों मैत्री के भाव सिंधु में गहरे डूब गए थे , क्यों विघ्न डाल दिया तुमने रुक्मणी !

ये मेरा सखा है ….. मैं सर्वस्व दे कर अपने आपको भी सौंप सकता हूँ इसके चरणों में , श्रीकृष्ण के नेत्रों से अविरल अश्रु बहते जा रहे थे ।

मेरे लिए इन्द्र , ब्रह्मा , रुद्र और तुम भी महत्वपूर्ण नही हो , जितने मेरे लिए महत्वपूर्ण हैं ये मेरे अपने अयाचक भक्त । रुक्मणी …..तुम्हें क्या लगा ये सुदामा तुम लक्ष्मी के पीछे पड़ा है ?

इसे कुछ नही चाहिए , इसे केवल मैं , उसका सखा चाहिए …….श्रीकृष्ण ये सब जो बोल रहे हैं रुक्मणी से वो नयनों से सम्वाद कर रहे हैं । इन चर्चाओं को तीसरा कोई सुन नही सकता था , केवल रुक्मणी सुन रही हैं और भक्तवत्सल बोलते जा रहे हैं ।

हम भी तो प्रसाद लेंगे , नाथ ! इसलिए मैंने आपको रोका ।

ये बात सुदामा को सुनाने के लिए बाहर रुक्मणी बोलीं थीं ।

श्रीकृष्ण रोष में थे , वो और भी सुनाना चाहते थे रुक्मणी को , पर सुदामा ने देखा भाभी पर ये इतना रुष्ट क्यो हो गया है ?

कृष्ण …… रहने दे ना , भाभी भी चिउरा लेना चाहती होगी इसलिए ही उसने तुम्हें रोका ।

श्रीकृष्ण ने रुक्मणी की ओर देखा उन्हें गलती का भान हो गया था , सिर को झुका लिया था रुक्मणी ने ।

पर मेरे मित्र ! सुदामा को देखकर फिर भाव विह्वल हो उठे थे श्रीकृष्ण ।

दुनिया में मैंने बहुत कुछ खाया है , मुझे लोगों ने बहुत कुछ खिलाया है ….किन्तु सुदामा ! तुमने जो मुझे ये चिउरा दिए ऐसा स्वाद आजतक नही आया ।

ये कहते हुए श्रीकृष्ण ने सुदामा को अपने हृदय से लगा लिया था ।

Sudama’s bath and food etc. had all been done, Shri Krishna now holding the hand of this friend with love, takes him to the place where sixteen thousand one hundred and eight of his queens are sitting together.

why here Where Sudama sees so many queens, he becomes uncomfortable.

They all want to know about us, their curiosity is Sudama! Regarding our friendship, and it is not wrong either. Shri Krishna makes Sudama comfortable and makes him sit on a high throne.

By pointing to Rukmani, Shri Krishna calls him to him, along with Rukmani, Satyabhama also gets up and walks away.

Ouch! Standing behind Sudama are these two original powers of the universe, Shrishakti and Bhushakti, Lakshmi and Prithvi. Both of them are jealous of Sudama.

This Brahmin is so lucky isn’t he? Seeing this unique scene, Queen Jambavati said to Queen Bhadra, who was sitting with her.

Yes, look, Lakshmi Swarupa Queen Rukmani herself is fanning, Bhadra said “yes” to Jambavati’s talk.

Hey Bhadra! What are you saying, you have forgotten that wonderful scene when Lord Narayan Swarup Shri Krishna himself was washing his feet, if Lakshmi’s fan blows there, then what a big deal it is. Jambavati said that’s why… Blessed is this Brahmin, Bhadra.

This Avdhoot monk! Queen Rukmani is fanning behind and thinking.

The throne in which Sudama was made to sit today by Shri Krishna, no one except Dwarkadhish was sitting in it till date. That lean thin Brahmin, who is going to medicine with hesitation, he had never seen the wealth and glory till date, then it was the glory of Dwarka.

Sudama! Shri Krishna takes the name of Sudama.

Yes, Sudama was lost somewhere, he was also thinking that despite having so much wealth, how simple and easy my friend is, he is blessed, but as soon as Shri Krishna called Sudama.

Yes, what’s the matter! Sudama asks Shri Krishna.

Do we also have a sister-in-law? Shri Krishna laughs while asking this question to Sudama.

For some time there was laughter in the assembly, and for some time Shri Krishna also kept laughing.

Sudama thinks that he will say anything, so he wants to silence Shri Krishna.

We used to say to you in Gurukul, “Sudama will get married”…..then you used to run to beat us, but wow! You got married

Sudama is blushing ……… has bowed his head and sat down.

Sudama! We would have also danced in your marriage, how nice it would have been, but you forgot us.

Sudama got angry, Krishna! I had only one marriage, I forgot to call, but you have “so many” marriages, did you ever call us? Shri Krishna became silent on hearing these words of Sudama.

The queens are laughing, saying among themselves, the answer was given to our Nath accurately.

Look friend! If you would have got married then first there would have been engagement, then there would have been marriage, that means there must have been a ritual, right? But here he is a bachelor till morning and if you see in the evening, a daughter-in-law has come to the house…… Shri Krishna said laughingly.

So everyone has come like this? Sudama is getting surprised.

Yes, yes, some have come themselves and some have been brought on the run.

While saying this, Shri Krishna looked at Rukmani.

Ok leave these things….. Sudama! I have raised this issue because if my sister-in-law has come… then what has she sent for her brother-in-law? Shri Krishna was overwhelmed with emotion while saying this.

As soon as Sudama heard this from the mouth of Shri Krishna…..what has my sister-in-law sent for me……

Sudama hesitated…… What should I give to this Dwarkadhish! Those three handfuls of chiura?

Give Sudama to the one who has made Puri of Suvarna……….Chiura?

Won’t I laugh? Sudama is thinking, let me laugh, no problem, the world laughs at Sudama…..but here Shri Krishna is connected with me, these queens belong to big houses, what will they think? Krishna’s friends are such, who have brought Chiura.

What happened Sudama! What has my sister-in-law sent for me? Shri Krishna is asking again.

There was so much joy in Gurukul….Krishna! You were ahead in weaponry, politics, but I was ahead in Brahma Vidya. Sudama is changing the matter.

Sudama! But tell me what my sister-in-law has sent.

Hey ! You know that Gurumata………Shri Krishna said, Sudama knows everything! You tell me what my sister-in-law has sent for me?

Sudama does not speak untruth, how to tell the truth….. Show me Chiura! Coming to Kanak Puri like this!

Sudama is not saying anything now, but Shri Krishna suddenly came and sat at the feet of Sudama.

He is just looking into Sudama’s eyes, then asks is everything fine at home?

Yes, everything is fine……my sister-in-law? yes your sister-in-law is fine…..child? Yes, the children are also happy,

Is there any deficiency in Sudama’s house? No, no Krishna! There is no shortage, everything is joy, everything is joy because of your grace.

What is this in your armpit. Shri Krishna suddenly put his hand in Sudama’s armpit and took out the pot of Chiura.

What is this….. As soon as Shri Krishna saw the pottery in his hand, Dwarikanath started crying.

The mind started thinking – there is so much poverty in the house, there is not even a single piece of cloth to tie the chiura…..but you are blessed Sudama……you did not brag about your poverty even once, even when I asked, I said that everything is bliss. , Even my Dwarka of gold could not change you, you are the world’s biggest donor Sudama…. You are the world’s biggest rich Sudama! What can I give to you, today you have given to the world’s husband. The queens are surprised, they are crying seeing the pottery itself…….

Shri Krishna opened the pot, chiura, raw chiura were in it. The eyes of Kamal Nayan were raining,

Dwarkesh took a handful of Chiura, he has completely drowned in Bhaav Sindhu.

As soon as I put those chiura in my mouth….. I gave the wealth of one world to Sudama.

Put the second fist in the mouth, I gave the wealth of two worlds to Sudama.

But now, as soon as Chiura was about to give the third fist to his face, Rukmani held his hand.

Sudama also saw it, all the queens also saw it, Shri Krishna was also angry with Rukmani.

Rukmani! Why did you become an obstacle in this juice? Me and my friend, both of us were deeply immersed in the feelings of friendship, Rukmani, why did you disturb!

This is my friend….. I can even surrender myself by giving everything. At his feet, tears were continuously flowing from Shri Krishna’s eyes.

Indra, Brahma, Rudra and you are also not important to me, as important as these my own selfless devotees are important to me. Rukmani….. What did you think this Sudama is after you Lakshmi?

He doesn’t want anything, he only needs me, his friend……. Whatever Shri Krishna is saying, he is talking to Rukmani with his eyes. No third person could hear these discussions, only Rukmani is listening and Bhaktavatsal continues to speak.

We will also take prasad, Nath! That’s why I stopped you.

Rukmani had spoken outside to tell this to Sudama.

Shri Krishna was furious, he wanted to tell Rukmani even more, but Sudama saw why he has become so angry with his sister-in-law?

Krishna……let it be, sister-in-law must also want to have Chiura, that’s why she stopped you.

Shri Krishna looked at Rukmani, he realized his mistake, Rukmani had bowed his head.

But my friend! Seeing Sudama, Shri Krishna was overwhelmed with emotion again.

I have eaten a lot in the world, people have fed me a lot….but Sudama! The taste that you gave me these chiuras, I have not tasted till date.

Saying this, Shri Krishna hugged Sudama close to his heart.
