देवी महालक्ष्मी भगवान नारायण की शक्ति व संसार की समस्त सम्पत्तियों की स्वामिनी हैं।
महालक्ष्मी के दो रूप हैं- #श्रीरूप और #लक्ष्मीरूप।
दोनों ही रूपों में ये भगवान #विष्णु की पत्नियां हैं।
एक रूप में ये भगवान नारायण के वक्ष:स्थल में सदैव निवास करने वाली सच्चिदानन्दमयी लक्ष्मी हैं और दूसरे रूप में भौतिक सम्पत्ति की देवी लक्ष्मी।
इन्हें ही #भूदेवी या #श्रीदेवी कहते हैं।
भौतिक सम्पत्ति रूप में लक्ष्मी कभी भी एक की होकर अर्थात् कहीं भी स्थिर होकर नहीं रहती इसलिए इन्हें सर्वभोग्या, चंचला, चपला और बहुगामिनी भी कहा जाता
महालक्ष्मी अपने पूर्णरूप में वैकुण्ठ में निवास करती हैं। देवराज #इन्द्र के यहां यह ‘#स्वर्गलक्ष्मी’ के नाम से,
पाताल में ‘#नागलक्ष्मी’,
राजाओं के यहां ‘#राज्यलक्ष्मी’, गृहस्थों के यहां ‘#गृहलक्ष्मी’, व्यापारियों के यहां ‘#वाणिज्यलक्ष्मी’
व
युद्ध में विजेताओं के यहां ‘#विजयलक्ष्मी’ रूप में रहती हैं। गौओं में ये ‘#सुरभि’ रूप में,
यज्ञ में ‘#दक्षिणा’ के रूप में, कमलनियों में ‘#श्री’ रूप में
व चन्द्रमा में ‘#शोभा’ रूप में रहती हैं।
सबसे पहले भगवान नारायण ने #वैकुण्ठ में #महालक्ष्मी की पूजा की थी।
दूसरी बार #ब्रह्मा जी ने फिर भगवान #शिव जी ने इनकी पूजा की।
क्षीरसागर में भगवान विष्णु द्वारा पूजा करने पर त्रिलोकी में सभी लोग- (” इन्द्र, कुबेर, चन्द्रमा, वायु, अग्नि, मनुष्य, ऋषि-मुनि, गृहस्थ- इनकी नित्यपूजा करने लगे”)।
इन्हें #कमलपुष्प अधिक प्रिय है।
ये कमल पर बैठती हैं और हाथ में भी कमल धारण किए रहती हैं। ये सदा प्रिय ही बोलती हैं। महालक्ष्मी अपने एक अंश में इन वस्तुओं में विराजमान रहती हैं-
आभूषण, बहुमूल्य रत्न- मोती-माणिक्य, हीरे, फल, जल, राजा-रानी, सिंहासन, पूजा-पाठ हवन करने वाले घर, सभी प्रकार के धान्य व शस्य (फसल) जिनसे जीवन की रक्षा होती है, वस्त्र, यज्ञ, खिले हुए कमलों वाले तालाब, गायों के रहने के स्थान, पवित्र स्थान, देवप्रतिमा, मंगलकलश, चंदन, सुन्दर वृक्षों व जल से भरे मेघ, आसन आदि।
दीवाली के दिन पूजन के बाद महालक्ष्मी के द्वादशनाम_स्तोत्र के १२ पाठ करने चाहिए। नित्यप्रति भी महालक्ष्मी का पूजन करके उनके १२ नाम वाले स्तोत्र का जप करने से घर में स्थिर लक्ष्मी का वास होता है।

पद्मा पद्मालया सम्पद् रमा श्री: पद्मधारिणी।।
द्वादशैतानि नामानि लक्ष्मीं सम्पूज्य य: पठेत्।
स्थिरा लक्ष्मीर्भवेत् तस्य पुत्रदारादिभि: सह।।
महालक्ष्मी के बारह नाम हिंदी में-
१. ईश्वरी,
२. कमला,
३. लक्ष्मी,
४. चला,
५. भूति,
६. हरिप्रिया,
७. पद्मा,
८. पद्मालया,
९. सम्पत्ति,
१०. रमा,
११. श्री,
१२. पद्मधारिणी।
इस स्तोत्र का नित्यपाठ करने से मनुष्य स्त्री-पुत्र सहित चिरकाल तक लक्ष्मी की कृपा प्राप्त करता है।
महालक्ष्मी तभी प्रसन्न होती हैं जब मनुष्य पवित्रता, मेहनत, धैर्य, संतोष व संयम को अपनाए। अधिक खाना, अधिक सोना, बेवजह बोलना, बात-बात पर क्रोध करना, चीजें बिखेरकर रखना, छल-कपट करना, लोभ, अहंकार- इन सब अवगुणों से लक्ष्मीजी सदैव दूर ही रहती हैं।

Goddess Mahalakshmi is the power of Lord Narayan and the owner of all the wealth of the world.
There are two forms of Mahalakshmi- #Shrirup and #Lakshmirup.
In both the forms, they are the wives of Lord #Vishnu. In one form, she is Sachchidanandamayi Lakshmi, who always resides in the bosom of Lord Narayan, and in another form, Lakshmi, the goddess of material wealth.
She is called #Bhudevi or #Sridevi.
In the form of material wealth, Lakshmi never belongs to one i.e. does not stay stable anywhere, hence she is also called Sarvabhogya, Chanchala, Chapla and Bahugamini.
Mahalakshmi resides in Vaikuntha in her complete form. In the place of Devraj #Indra it is in the name of ‘Swargalakshmi’, ‘Naagalakshmi’ in Patal, ‘#Rajyalakshmi’ in the house of kings, ‘#Grihalakshmi’ in the house of householders, ‘#Vanijyalakshmi’ in the house of traders. And Vijayalakshmi resides at the place of the winners in the war. This in the form of ‘Surbhi’ in cows, In the form of ‘#Dakshina’ in Yagya, in the form of ‘#Shri’ in Kamalanis And lives in the form of ‘#Shobha’ in the moon.
First of all Lord Narayan worshiped #Mahalakshmi in #Vaikuntha. For the second time #Brahma ji then Lord #Shiva ji worshiped him. On being worshiped by Lord Vishnu in Kshirsagar, everyone in Triloki-(“Indra, Kubera, Moon, Vayu, Agni, Man, Rishi-Muni, householder- started worshiping him daily”).
Lotus flower is more dear to them. She sits on a lotus and also holds a lotus in her hand. She always speaks dearly. Mahalakshmi in a part of her resides in these things- Jewellery, precious stones – pearls, rubies, diamonds, fruits, water, kings and queens, thrones, houses where worship is performed, all kinds of grains and crops that protect life, clothes, sacrifices, flowers Ponds with lotuses, places where cows live, holy places, idols, auspicious urns, sandalwood, beautiful trees and clouds filled with water, seats etc. After worshiping on the day of Diwali, 12 recitations of Mahalakshmi’s Dwadashnam _ Stotra should be done. By worshiping Mahalakshmi daily and chanting her 12 name hymns, stable Lakshmi resides in the house.

He who recites these twelve names in worship of Lakshmi. He will have steady fortune along with his sons wife and others.
Twelve names of Mahalakshmi in Hindi-
1. Ishwari, 2. Kamala, 3. Lakshmi, 4. Let’s go, 5. Ghost, 6. Haripriya, 7. Padma, 8. Padmalaya, 9. Property, 10. Rama, 11. wealth, 12. Padmadharini.
By reciting this hymn daily, a man along with his wife and son receives the blessings of Lakshmi for ever.
Mahalakshmi is pleased only when man adopts purity, hard work, patience, contentment and restraint. Lakshmi ji always stays away from all these demerits like eating more, sleeping more, talking unnecessarily, getting angry at every thing, scattering things, deceit, greed, arrogance.
