जिसे तुम जीवन की भांति जानते हो वह अपने भीतर मृत्यु को छिपाए है। जीवन ऊपर की ही पर्त है; भीतर मृत्यु मुंह बाए खड़ी है।
मृत्यु जीवन के विपरीत नहीं है। मृत्यु जीवन की संगी-साथिन है। वे दो नहीं हैं; वे एक ही घटना के दो छोर हैं। जीवन जिसका प्रारंभ है, मृत्यु उसी की परिसमाप्ति है।
गंगोत्री और गंगासागर अलग- अलग नहीं। मूलस्रोत ही अंत भी है। जन्म के साथ ही तुमने मरना शुरू कर दिया। इसे अगर न पहचाना, तो जो सत्य है, जो जीवन का यथार्थ है, उससे तुम्हारा कोई भी संबंध न हो पाएगा।
कबीर ने कहा है-
मरते-मरते जग मुआ, औरस मरा न कोय।
सारा जग मरते-मरते मर रहा है, लेकिन ठीक रूप से मरना कोई भी नहीं जानता।
एक सयानी आपनी, फिर बहुरि न मरना होय।
लेकिन कबीर एक सयानी मौत मरा, उसे फिर दुबारा लौट कर मरना न पड़ा। जो भी ठीक से मरने का राज जान गया, वह जीने का राज भी जान गया। क्योंकि वे दो बातें नहीं हैं। और जानते ही दोनों के पार हो गया। और पार हो जाना ही मुक्ति है। पार हो जाना ही परम सत्य है।
न तो तुम जीवन हो और न तुम मृत्यु हो। तुमने अपने को जीवन माना है, इसलिए तुम्हें अपने को मृत्यु भी माननी पड़ेगी। तुमने जीवन के साथ अपना संबंध जोड़ा है तो मृत्यु के साथ संबंध कोई दूसरा क्यों जोड़ेगा? तुम्हें ही जोड़ना पड़ेगा।
जब तक तुम जीवन को पकड़ कर आसक्त रहोगे, तब तक मृत्यु भी तुम्हारे भीतर छिपी रहेगी। जिस दिन तुम जीवन को भी फेंक दोगे कूड़े-कर्कट की भांति, उसी दिन मृत्यु भी तुमसे अलग हो जाएगी। तभी तुम्हारी प्रतिमा निखरेगी। तभी तुम अपने पूरे निखार में, अपनी पूरी महिमा में प्रकट होओगे। उसके पहले तुम परिधि पर ही रहोगे।
मृत्यु भी परिधि है और जीवन भी। तुम दोनों से भीतर, और दोनों के पार, और दोनों का अतिक्रमण कर जाते हो। यह जो अतिक्रमण कर जाने वाला सूत्र है, इसे चाहो आत्मा कहो, चाहे परमात्मा कहो, चाहे निर्वाण कहो, मोक्ष कहो, जो तुम्हारी मर्जी हो। अलग-अलग ज्ञानियों ने अलग-अलग नाम दिए हैं; लेकिन बात एक ही कही है।
सबै सयाने एक मत।
और अगर सयानों में तुम्हें भेद दिखाई पड़े तो अपनी भूल समझना। वह भेद तुम्हारी नासमझी के कारण दिखाई पड़ता होगा। सयानों के कहने के ढंग अलग-अलग होंगे। होने ही चाहिए। सयानों के व्यक्तित्व अलग-अलग हैं। वे जो भी बोलेंगे, वह अलग-अलग होगा। उनके गीतों के शब्द कितने ही अलग हों, लेकिन उनका गीत एक ही है। और संगीत वे अलग-अलग वाद्यों पर उठा रहे होंगे, लेकिन उनका संगीत एक ही है, उनकी लयबद्धता एक ही है।

That which you know as life has hidden death within itself. Life is only the upper layer; Death is standing inside.
Death is not the opposite of life. Death is the companion of life. They are not two; They are two ends of the same phenomenon. Life is the beginning, death is the end of that.
Gangotri and Gangasagar are not separate. The source is also the end. With birth you started dying. If you do not recognize this, then you will not be able to have any relationship with the truth, the reality of life.
Kabir has said-
The world died while dying, and no one died.
The whole world is dying by dying, but no one knows how to die properly.
You don’t have to die as a wise woman again.
But Kabir died a wise death, he did not have to return and die again. Whoever knows the secret of dying properly, also knows the secret of living. Because they are not two things. And knowingly went beyond both. And to cross over is liberation. To transcend is the ultimate truth.
You are neither life nor you are death. You have considered yourself as life, so you have to consider yourself as death also. You have established your relationship with life, so why would anyone else establish a relationship with death? You have to add.
As long as you cling to life and remain attached, death will also remain hidden within you. The day you throw away life also like garbage, that day death will also be separated from you. Only then will your image shine. Only then will you appear in your full glory, in your full glory. Before that you will remain on the periphery.
Death is also a periphery and so is life. You go into both, and beyond both, and transcend both. This is the transcendental formula, call it soul, whether you call it divine, whether you call it Nirvana, call it salvation, whatever you wish. Different wise men have given different names; But the same thing is said.
All say one vote.
And if you see differences between the wise, then understand your mistake. That difference must have been visible because of your ignorance. Sayans have different ways of saying. It must happen. Saiyans have different personalities. Whatever they say will be different. The words of their songs may be different, but their song is the same. And the music they may be playing on different instruments, but their music is the same, their rhythm is the same.
