राधे जू की चरित्र का वर्णन करने का सामर्थ्य ना तो ब्रह्मा जी में है,और ना ही श्री शारदा जी में ही हैं,
एक बार द्वारिका में रुक्मिणी जी ने मध्यरात्रि में कृष्ण के श्वांश-श्वांश से श्री राधे-श्री राधे नाम की ध्वंनि का गुंजन सुना और सुनकर चौंक गई,
उन्हें पूरी रात्रि नींद नहीं आई और प्रातःकाल होते ही रुक्मिणी जी कृष्ण से पूछ पड़ी हैं प्रभु! समस्त संसार,यहाँ तक की अखिल ब्रह्माण्ड अपने श्वांशो में सिर्फ आपके नाम का सुमिरन करते हैं,और आप अखिल ब्रह्माण्ड के स्वामी होकर श्रीराधे नाम का अपनी श्वांशो में सुमिरन करते हैं,आखिर ये श्रीराधे कौन हैं मुझे कृपा करके बताइये प्रभु। भगवान श्रीकृष्ण मुस्कराये और कहा है देवी! मैं अखिल ब्रह्माण्ड का स्वामी होते हुए भी,मेरी वाणी में इतना सामर्थ्य नहीं है कि मैं श्रीराधे जू के चरित्र का वर्णन कर सकूँ। मैं आपको वचन देता हूँ कि आपकी भेंट श्रीराधे जू से अवश्य होगी,तब आपको आपके मन में उठ रहे समस्त प्रश्नों का उत्तर भी मिल जाएगा।
कृष्ण जी राधे के बिना नीरस हो जाते हैं,इसीलिए श्रीराधे कृष्ण की युगल उपासना को ही सर्वश्रेष्ठ उपासना माना जाता है। दोउ चंद्र हैं और दोउ चकोर हैं।
कृष्ण जी जब वृन्दावन छोड़कर जाने लगे तब वो राधे जी के पास आये और उन्होंने कहा हे राधे! मैं जा रहा हूँ,ब्रज में मेरी लीलाओं का विराम हो चुका है और अब मुझे धर्मस्थापना के लिए कार्य करना है,श्रीकृष्ण के इस प्रकार के वचनों को सुनकर पहले तो किशोरी जी को मूर्च्छा आ गई और वो भूमि पर गिर पड़ी,कृष्ण जी ने उन्हें अपनी गोद में उठाया और अपनी पीताम्बरी से उन्हें पंखा करने लगे,कुछ समय पश्चात श्रीप्रिया जू की मूर्च्छा भंग हुई, तब श्रीराधे जू ने कहा हे प्राण प्रियतम! मैं तो प्रेम हूँ,और प्रेम का स्वभाव बाँधना नहीं होता है,प्रेम तो वो अति पावन परम तत्त्व है जो सम्पूर्ण सांसारिक बंधनो से मुक्त करके जीवन मुक्त परमानन्द की स्थिति में आरुण करता है। प्रेम ही सेवा है…प्रेम ही भक्ति है।
राधा के इस प्रकार के वचनों को सुनकर श्रीकृष्ण के नेत्रों से अश्रुपात होने लगे,और उन्होंने कहा- हे मेरी स्वामिनि! आप धन्य हैं,सम्पूर्ण जगत सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड मुझेसे पहले आपको स्थान देगा,यदि जो मेरे नाम के बाद आपका नाम लेगा उसे मेरी कृपा भक्ति कभी प्राप्त नही होगी,ये मेरी बंशी अब आप रख लीजिये,क्योंकि ये बंशी केवल प्रेम के लिए ही बजती है,और अब मैं अपने प्रेम यानि आपसे से दूर जा रहा हूँ,इसलिए अब ये बंशी मुझसे नहीं बजेगी,उसके बाद जो श्याम ब्रज छोड़कर गये दुबारा नहीं लौटे। असल में श्रीराधे कृष्ण का विच्छेद कभी होता नहीं। बस सांसारिक दृष्टि से दोनों अलग हुए थे।
श्रीराधे जू ने अपने सारे श्रृंगारों का त्याग किया,श्रीराधे जू ने महल का भी त्याग कर दिया था,अब तो वो केवल एक वक्त ही गौमाता का दुग्धपान करती थी,वो इसलिए नहीं की वो जीना चाहती थीं,बल्कि इसलिए की उन्हें पूर्ण विश्वाश था की उनकी भेंट इसी जीवन में गोविन्द से अवश्य होगी,श्रीराधे जू ने सौ वर्षों तक नींद और विश्राम नहीं लिया,बस अहर्निश उनके ह्रदय और वाणी से श्रीकृष्ण नाम का जाप होता रहता था,रोम रोम श्रीकृष्ण के लिए तडपता था। उनका मन अहर्निश अपने प्राण प्रियतम श्रीकृष्ण के स्मरण में ही डूबा रहता था,यदि अपनी विरह ज्वाला को प्रकट कर देतीं तो ये विश्व भस्म हो जाता। श्रीराधे जु के अति सुन्दर लम्बे केश अब बड़ी-बड़ी जटाओं में परिवर्तित हो चुके थे,उनकी प्यारी अष्ट प्रमुख सखियाँ सदैव उनकी सेवा में लगि रहती थीं,इस तरह से जब सौ वर्षो की अवधि पूर्ण हुई तब एक बार सूर्य ग्रहण के समय श्रीराधा सहित सभी ब्रजवासियों को कुरुक्षेत्र आने का अवसर मिला,और तभी उन सभी की भेंट श्रीकृष्ण से हुई थी,तब श्रीकृष्ण जी श्रीराधे जू के चरणों में गिरकर बहुत रोए थे और कहा मैं महापापी हूँ…है राधे! मुझे दण्डित करो
मेरा रोम-रोम तुम्हारे प्रेम का ऋणी है,इस ऋण से मैं कभी भी उऋण नहीं हो सकता,श्रीराधे जू श्रीकृष्ण को अपने चरणों से उठाकर अपने ह्रदय से लगा लेती हैं। देवता लोग स्वर्ग से पुष्पों की वर्षा करने लगते हैं,दुन्दुभियां बजने लगती है,दसों दिशाओं में श्रीराधे कृष्ण नाम का संकीर्तन होने लगता है,ततपश्चात श्रीकृष्ण की समस्त पत्नियां श्रीराधे जू के दर्शन पाने को आतीं हैं,जब श्रीराधे जू को इस बात का पता चलता है तो वो दौड़कर श्रीकृष्ण की पत्नियों से मिलने उनके पास आती हैं,और श्री रुक्मिणी जी के चरणों में गिरकर श्रीराधे जू कहती हैं- हे रुक्मिणी जी! मुझे अपनी दासी बना लीजिये,मेरा रोंम-रोंम आपका ऋणी है,आपने मेरे गोविन्द की अपार सेवा की हैं,आपने मेरे गोविन्द को बहुत सुख दिया है,मैं आपका ये ऋण कभी चूका नहीं पाऊँगी। मुझे जन्म-जन्म के लिए अपनी दासी बना लीजिये,मैं आप सभी की बहुत-बहुत ऋणी हूँ।
तब श्री रुक्मिणी जी को श्रीकृष्ण जी की वो बात याद आ गई जब उन्होंने कहा था कि- आप जब श्रीराधे जू से मिलेंगी तब आपके मन में उठ रहे समस्त प्रश्नों का उत्तर मिल जाएगा। देवी रुक्मिणी भी रो पडतीं हैं…कहती हैं – हे देवी श्रीराधे! मैं धन्य हो गई तुम्हारी दर्शन पाकर। तुम्हारे प्रेम को कोटि कोटि नमन…

Lord Krishna becomes dull without Radhe, that is why couple worship of Shri Radhe Krishna is considered the best worship. There are two moons and two squares.
When Krishna ji started leaving Vrindavan, he came to Radhe ji and said, Oh Radhe! I am leaving, my pastimes in Braj have come to an end and now I have to work for the establishment of Dharma. Hearing such words of Shri Krishna, first Kishori ji fainted and fell on the ground. Krishna ji He picked him up in his lap and started fanning him with his Pitambari, after some time Shripriya Ju lost her unconsciousness, then Shri Radhe Ju said, Oh my dear! I am love, and the nature of love is not to bind, love is that most pure supreme element which frees one from all worldly bondages and makes life enjoy a state of free bliss. Love is service…love is devotion.
Hearing such words of Radha, tears started falling from Shri Krishna’s eyes and he said – O my mistress! You are blessed, the whole world will give you a place before me, if the one who takes your name after my name will never get my grace and devotion, now keep this banshee of mine, because this banshee plays only for love. ,And now I am going away from my love i.e. you, hence now this banshee will not play from me, after that Shyam who left Braj never returned again. Actually Shri Radhe Krishna never gets separated. Only from the worldly point of view both of them were separated.
Shri Radhe Ju gave up all her adornments, Shri Radhe Ju also gave up the palace, now she used to drink the milk of mother cow only once in a while, not because she wanted to live, but because she had complete faith in That he would definitely meet Govind in this life, Shri Radhe Ju did not take sleep or rest for a hundred years, he kept chanting the name of Shri Krishna in his heart and voice, yearning for Shri Krishna from every pore. Her mind was always engrossed in the memory of her beloved Shri Krishna, if she had revealed the flame of her separation then this world would have been destroyed. Shri Radha Ju’s very beautiful long hair had now transformed into huge matted hair, her beloved eight main friends were always engaged in her service, in this way, when the period of hundred years was completed, once at the time of solar eclipse, Shri Radha along with All the people of Braj got the opportunity to come to Kurukshetra, and then they all met Shri Krishna, then Shri Krishna ji fell at the feet of Shri Radhe Ju and cried a lot and said, I am a great sinner… Oh Radhe! punish me
Every pore of my being is indebted to your love, I can never repay this debt, Shri Radhe Ju lifts Shri Krishna from her feet and hugs him to her heart. The gods start showering flowers from heaven, dundubhis start sounding, the name Shri Radhe Krishna starts being chanted in ten directions, after that all the wives of Shri Krishna come to get darshan of Shri Radhe Ju, when Shri Radhe Ju comes to know about this. Then she comes running to meet Shri Krishna’s wives, and falling at the feet of Shri Rukmini ji, Shri Radhe Ju says – O Rukmini ji! Make me your maid, every pore of my being is indebted to you, you have done immense service to my Govind, you have given a lot of happiness to my Govind, I will never be able to repay this debt of yours. Make me your maid for every birth, I am very much indebted to all of you.
Then Shri Rukmini ji remembered what Shri Krishna ji had said that – When you meet Shri Radhe Ju, then you will get answers to all the questions arising in your mind. Goddess Rukmini also starts crying…says – O Goddess Shriradhe! I am blessed to have your darshan. Millions of salutes to your love…
