वेदसार शिवस्तव भगवान शिव की स्तुति है। जिसे भगवान शिव की प्रसन्नता हेतु आदिगुरु शंकराचार्य ने लिखा है। इस स्तुति में भगवान शिव के द्वारा ही संसार की उत्पत्ति होना और फिर इस संसार के शिव में ही समाए जाने का वर्णन दिया गया है। शिव देवों के भी देव हैं,इसलिए महादेव हैं। जो देवताओं के भी दुःखों को दूर करें ऐसे हैं महादेव। महादेव होने के बाद भी जो बाघंबर लपेटे और भस्म रमाए फिरते हैं। तब भी देवी पार्वती के मन को मोहने वाले हैं,ऐसे शिव हैं। तीनों लोकों के हितों को ध्यान में रखते हुए न चखे जाने वाले विष को भी गले में रखे हुए हैं, ऐसे हमारे नीलकंठ हैं। प्रस्तुत हैं शिवस्तव जिसमे योगी के अनूठे रूपों का वर्णन दिया हुआ है।
पशूनां पतिं पापनाशं परेशं
गजेन्द्रस्य कृत्तिं वसानं वरेण्यम्।
जटाजूटमध्ये स्फुरद्गाङ्गवारिं
महादेवमेकं स्मरामि स्मरारिम्।।१।।
हे शिव! आप जो प्राणिमात्र के स्वामी एवं रक्षक हैं। पाप का नाश करने वाले परमेश्वर हैं। गजराज का चर्म धारण करने वाले हैं। श्रेष्ठ एवं वरण करने योग्य हैं। जिनकी जटाजूट में गंगा जी खेलती हैं। उन एक मात्र महादेव को बारम्बार स्मरण करता हूँ।
महेशं सुरेशं सुरारातिनाशं
विभुं विश्वनाथं विभूत्यङ्गभूषम्।
विरूपाक्षमिन्द्वर्कवह्नित्रिनेत्रं
सदानन्दमीडे प्रभुं पञ्चवक्त्रम।।२।।
हे महेश्वर! सुरेश्वर, देवों के भी दुःखों का नाश करने वाले,विभुं विश्वनाथ विभुति धारण करने वाले हैं। सूर्य, चन्द्र एवं अग्नि आपके तीन नेत्र के सामान हैं। सदा आनन्द प्रदान करने वाले पंचमुख वाले महादेव मैं आपकी स्तुति करता हूँ।
गिरीशं गणेशं गले नीलवर्णं
गवेन्द्राधिरूढं गुणातीतरूपम्।
भवं भास्वरं भस्मना भूषिताङ्गं
भवानीकलत्रं भजे पञ्चवक्त्रम्।।३।।
हे शिव आप जो कैलाशपति हैं। गणों के स्वामी, नीलकंठ हैं। धर्म स्वरूप वृष यानी कि बैल की सवारी करते हैं। अनगिनत गुण वाले हैं। संसार के आदि कारण हैं। प्रकाश पुञ सदृश्य हैं। भस्म अलंकृत हैं। जो भवानी के पति हैं। उन पञ्चमुख प्रभु को मैं भजता हूँ।
शिवाकान्त शंभो शशाङ्कार्धमौले
महेशान शूलिञ्जटाजूटधारिन्।
त्वमेको जगद्व्यापको विश्वरूपः
प्रसीद प्रसीद प्रभो पूर्णरूप।।४।।
हे शिवाकांत पार्वती के मन को मोहने वाले! हे शम्भु! हे चन्द्रशेखर! हे महादेव! आप त्रिशूल एवं जटाजूट धारण करने वाले हैं। हे विश्वरूप! सिर्फ आप ही संपूर्ण जगत में व्याप्त हैं। हे पूर्णरूप आप प्रसन्न हों, प्रसन्न हों।
परात्मानमेकं जगद्बीजमाद्यं
निरीहं निराकारमोंकारवेद्यम्।
यतो जायते पाल्यते येन विश्वं
तमीशं भजे लीयते यत्र विश्वम्।।५।।
हे एकमात्र परमात्मा!जगत के आदिकारण! आप इच्छारहित, निराकार एवं ऊँकार स्वरूप वाले हैं। आपको सिर्फ प्राण (ध्यान) द्वारा ही जान जा सकता है। आपके द्वारा ही संपूर्ण श्रृष्टि की उत्पत्ति होती है। आप ही उसका पालन करते हैं तथा अंततः उसका आप में ही लय हो जाता है। हे प्रभु! मैं आपको भजता हूँ।
न भूमिर्नं चापो न वह्निर्न वायु-
र्न चाकाशमास्ते न तन्द्रा न निद्रा।
न गृष्मो न शीतं न देशो न वेषो
न यस्यास्ति मूर्तिस्त्रिमूर्तिं तमीडे।।६।।
जो न भूमि हैं,न जल,न अग्नि,न वायु और न ही आकाश। अर्थात आप पंचतत्वों से परे हैं। आप तन्द्रा,निद्रा,ग्रीष्म एवं शीत से भी अलिप्त हैं। आप देश एव वेश की सीमा से भी परे हैं। हे निराकार त्रिमुर्ति! मैं आपकी स्तुति करता हूँ।
अजं शाश्वतं कारणं कारणानां
शिवं केवलं भासकं भासकानाम्।
तुरीयं तमःपारमाद्यन्तहीनं
प्रपद्ये परं पावनं द्वैतहीनम्।।७।।
हे अजन्मे,अनादि आप शाश्वत हैं। नित्य हैं। कारणों के भी कारण हैं। हे कल्यानमुर्ति शिव आप ही एक मात्र प्रकाशकों को भी प्रकाश प्रदान करने वाले हैं। आप तीनो अवस्ताओं से परे हैं। हे आनादि! अनंत आप जो कि अज्ञान से परे हैं। आपके उस परम् पावन अद्वैत स्वरूप को नमस्कार है।
नमस्ते नमस्ते विभो विश्वमूर्ते
नमस्ते नमस्ते चिदानन्दमूर्ते।
नमस्ते नमस्ते तपोयोगगम्य
नमस्ते नमस्ते श्रुतिज्ञानगम्य।।८।।
हे विभो! हे विश्वमूर्ते आपको नमस्कार है, नमस्कार है। हे सबको आनन्द प्रदान करने वाले सदानन्द आपको नमस्कार है, नमस्कार है। हे तपोयोग ज्ञान द्वारा प्राप्त्य आपको नमस्कार है, नमस्कार है। हे वेदज्ञान द्वारा प्राप्त्य प्रभु आपको नमस्कार है, नमस्कार है।
प्रभो शूलपाणे विभो विश्वनाथ
महादेव शंभो महेश त्रिनेत्र।
शिवाकान्त शान्त स्मरारे पुरारे
त्वदन्यो वरेण्यो न मान्यो न गण्यः।।९।।
हे त्रिशूलधारी ! हे विभो विश्वनाथ ! हे महादेव ! हे शंभो ! हे महेश ! हे त्रिनेत्र ! हे पार्वतिवल्लभ ! हे शान्त ! हे स्मरणिय ! हे त्रिपुरारे ! आपके समक्ष न कोई श्रेष्ठ है। न वरण करने योग्य है। न मान्य है और न गणनीय ही है।
शंभो महेश करुणामय शूलपाणे
गौरीपते पशुपते पशुपाशनाशिन्।
काशीपते करुणया जगदेतदेक-
स्त्वंहंसि पासि विदधासि महेश्वरोऽसि।।१०।।
हे शम्भो! हे महेश ! हे करूणामय ! हे शूलपाणे ! हे गौरीपति! हे पशुपति ! हे काशीपति ! आप ही सभी प्रकार के पशुपाश [ मोह माया ] का नाश करने वाले हैं। हे करूणामय आप ही इस जगत के उत्पत्ति, पालन एवं संहार के कारण हैं। आप ही इसके एकमात्र स्वामी हैं।
त्वत्तो जगद्भवति देव भव स्मरारे
त्वय्येव तिष्ठति जगन्मृड विश्वनाथ।
त्वय्येव गच्छति लयं जगदेतदीश
लिङ्गात्मके हर चराचरविश्वरूपिन्।।११।।
हे चराचर विश्वरूप प्रभु,आपके लिंगस्वरूप से ही सम्पुर्ण जगत अपने अस्तित्व में आता है (उसकी उत्पत्ति होती है) हे शंकर ! हे विश्वनाथ अस्तित्व में आने के उपरांत यह जगत आप में ही स्थित रहता है। अर्थात आप ही इसका पालन करते हैं। अंततः यह सम्पुर्ण श्रृष्टि आप में ही लय हो जाती है। ।। इति श्री वेदसार शिवस्तव: समाप्तम् ।।
