नमो राघवाय
पार्वती ने भी भरद्वाज मुनि की तरह ही शिवजी से पूछा- आप दिन-रात राम-राम जपा करते हैं, ये राम अयोध्या के राजा के पुत्र ही हैं या अजन्मा, निर्गुण, अगोचर कोई और राम हैं ? यदि राजपुत्र हैं तो ब्रह्म कैसे ? और ब्रह्म हैं तो स्त्री के विरह में विकल क्यों हो गये ? मैंने पिछले जन्म में संदेह किया और उसकी सजा पा ली है, अब मुझे पहले जैसा मोह नहीं है, बल्कि रामकथा सुनने में मेरी रुचि है।
आर्तभाव से पूछ्ने पर करुणा करके भगवान् शिव ने कहा- पार्वती ! तुम धन्य हो, तुमने जगत् को पवित्र करनेवाली गंगा के समान रामकथा सुनना चाहा है, जो समस्त संसार के लिये हितकर है-
धन्य धन्य गिरिराजकुमारी।
तुम्ह समान नहिं कोउ उपकारी।।
पूँछेहु रघुपति कथा प्रसंगा।
सकल लोक जग पावनि गंगा।।
तुम्ह रघुबीर चरन अनुरागी।
कीन्हिहु प्रस्न जगत हित लागी।।
शिवजीने कहा- पार्वती ! संदेह त्याग दो, राम सब रूपों में वही राम हैं। जो निर्गुण है वही सगुण है जैसे कि जल और ओले में भेद नहीं है-
जो गुन रहित सगुन सोइ कैसें।
जलु हिम उपल बिलग नहिं जैसें।।
जो प्रकाशरूप हैं, सब रूपों में प्रकट हैं, जीव, माया और जगत् सबके स्वामी हैं, वे ‘रघुकुलमणि श्रीरामचन्द्र जी ही मेरे स्वामी हैं।’
पुरुष प्रसिद्ध प्रकास निधि प्रगट परावर नाथ।
रघुकुलमनि मम स्वामि सोइ कहि सिव नायउ माथ।।
भगवान् भोलेनाथ ने अत्यन्त भक्तिभाव एवं आनन्द के साथ पार्वती को रामकथा के सभी प्रसंग सुनाये और यह भी कहा- ‘तुम्हारी ही तरह पक्षिराज गरुड़ को भी उस समय भ्रम एवं संदेह हो गया था, जब वे श्रीराम को नागपाश से मुक्त करने गये थे। यह सोचकर कि जिनके नाम-जप से लोग भवसागर के बन्धन से मुक्त हो जाते हैं, वे ही राम एक तुच्छ राक्षस के नागपाश में बँधे गये ?’
भव बंधन ते छूटहिं नर जपि जा कर नाम।
खर्ब निसाचर बाँधेउ नागपास सोइ राम।।
इसी संदेह को लेकर गरुड़ नारद एवं ब्रह्मा के निर्देश पर मेरे पास आये और मैंने उन्हें काकभुशुण्डि के पास रामकथा सुनने भेज दिया। रामकथा के पावन प्रसंग और राममहिमा को विस्तार से सुनकर वे संदेह, मोह, विषाद एवं भ्रम से मुक्त ही गये तथा गद्गद होकर बोले-
मैं कृतकृत्य भयउँ तव बानी।
सुनि रघुबीर भगति रस सानी।।
राम चरन नूतन रति भई।
माया जनित बिपति सब गई।।
और रामभक्ति से अभिभूत होकर यह भी कहा-
जीवन जन्म सुफल मम भयऊ।
तव प्रसाद संसय सब गयऊ।।

Parvati also asked Shivji like Bhardwaj Muni – You chant Ram-Ram day and night, is this Ram the son of the king of Ayodhya or is there some other Ram who is unborn, formless, invisible? If he is a royal son then how can he be Brahm? And if he is Brahma then why did he become distraught due to separation from his wife? I doubted in my previous life and have been punished for it, now I don’t have the same attachment as before, rather I am interested in listening to Ramkatha.
When asked with a heartfelt expression, Lord Shiva out of compassion said – Parvati! You are blessed, you have wanted to listen to Ramkatha like Ganga that purifies the world, which is beneficial for the entire world –
Blessed blessed Girirajkumari. There is no benefactor like you.
Poonchehu Raghupati Katha Prasanga. Sakal Lok Jag Pavani Ganga।।
You are devoted to the feet of Raghubir. Keenhihu prasan jagat hit laagi।।
Shivji said- Parvati! Leave aside doubts, Ram is the same Ram in all forms. That which is Nirguna is Saguna, just as there is no difference between water and hail.
How can one who is devoid of virtues sleep? Water, snow and ice are inseparable.
He who is the form of light, is manifested in all forms, is the master of all living beings, Maya and the world, ‘Raghukulamani Shri Ramchandra ji is my master.’
Man famous light treasure manifested Paravar Nath. Raghukulamani mama swami soi kahi siv nayau math।।
Lord Bholenath narrated all the incidents of Ramkatha to Parvati with great devotion and joy and also said – ‘Like you, the bird king Garuda also got confused and doubtful when he had gone to free Shri Ram from the snake trap. Thinking that the same Ram, whose chanting of name frees people from the bondage of the ocean of existence, was trapped in the snake’s noose of an insignificant demon?’
I am freed from the bondage of life by chanting the name. Ram, who is sleeping in the night, bind a thousand nightless snakes.
With this doubt, Garuda came to me on the instructions of Narad and Brahma and I sent him to Kakbhushundi to listen to the story of Ram. After listening to the sacred story of Ramkatha and the glory of Ram in detail, he became free from doubt, attachment, sadness and confusion and said with great joy –
I became ungrateful. Listen Raghubir Bhagti Ras Sani.
Ram’s feet are new to you. All the troubles caused by Maya are gone.
And being overwhelmed with devotion to Ram, he also said-
Life and birth were successful for me. Tav prasad sansay sab gayau.
