संसार के समस्त विचारकों ने एक स्वर से विचारों की शक्ति और उसके असाधारण महत्त्व को स्वीकार किया है। संसार एक दर्पण है। इस पर हमारे विचारों की जैसी छाया पड़ेगी वैसा ही प्रतिबिम्ब दिखाई देगा। विचारों के आधार पर ही संसार सुखमय अनुभव होता है। विचारों में अपार शक्ति है। जो सदैव कर्म की प्रेरणा देती है। वह अच्छे कार्यों में लग जाये तो अच्छे और बुरे मार्ग की ओर प्रवृत्त हो जाये तो बुरे परिणाम प्राप्त होते हैं।
विचारों में एक प्रकार की चेतना शक्ति होती है। किसी भी प्रकार के विचारों में एक स्थान पर केन्द्रित होते रहने पर उनकी सूक्ष्म चेतन शक्ति घनीभूत होती जाती है। प्रत्येक विचार आत्मा और बुद्धि के संसर्ग से पैदा होता है। बुद्धि उसका आकार-प्रकार निर्धारित करती है तो आत्मा उसमें चेतना फूँकती है। इस तरह विचार अपने आप में एक सजीव, किन्तु सूक्ष्म तत्त्व है। मनुष्य के विचार एक तरह की सजीव तरंगें हैं जो जीवन संसार और यहाँ के पदार्थों को प्रेरणा देती रहती है। इन सजीव विचारों का जब केन्द्रीयकरण हो जाता है तो एक प्रचण्ड शक्ति का उद्भव होता है। स्वामी विवेकानन्द ने विचारों की इस शक्ति का उल्लेख करते हुए बताया है – “कोई व्यक्ति भले ही किसी गुफा में जाकर विचार करे और विचार करते-करते ही वह मर भी जाये तो वे विचार कुछ समय उपरान्त गुफा की दीवारों का विच्छेद कर बाहर निकल पड़ेंगे और सर्वत्र फैल जायेंगे। वे विचार तब सबको प्रभावित करेंगे”। मनुष्य जैसे विचार करता है, उनकी सूक्ष्म तरंगें विश्वाकाश में फैल जाती हैं। सम स्वभाव के पदार्थ एक-दूसरे की ओर आकर्षित होते हैं, इस नियम के अनुसार उन विचारों के अनुकूल दूसरे विचार आकर्षित होते हैं और व्यक्ति को वैसे ही प्रेरणा देते हैं। एक ही तरह के विचार घनीभूत होते रहने पर प्रचण्ड शक्ति धारण कर लेते हैं और मनुष्य के जीवन में जादू की तरह प्रकाश डालते हैं …।
All the thinkers of the world have unanimously accepted the power of thoughts and its extraordinary importance. The world is a mirror. As the shadow of our thoughts falls on it, the same reflection will be seen. The world experiences happiness only on the basis of thoughts. There is immense power in thoughts. Which always inspires action. If he engages in good deeds, if he tends towards good and bad path, then he gets bad results.
Thoughts have a kind of consciousness power. In any type of thoughts, their subtle conscious power gets denser when they are concentrated at one place. Every thought is born from the union of the soul and the intellect. The intellect determines its shape and form, then the soul breathes consciousness into it. In this way thought itself is a living, but subtle element. Man’s thoughts are a kind of living waves which keep on inspiring life, the world and the things here. When these living thoughts get centralised, then a tremendous power emerges. Referring to this power of thoughts, Swami Vivekananda has said – “Even if a person goes to a cave and thinks and dies while thinking, those thoughts will come out after some time breaking the walls of the cave.” And will spread everywhere. Those thoughts will then affect everyone”. As a man thinks, his subtle waves spread in the universe. Substances of like nature attract each other, according to this law, other thoughts compatible with those thoughts attract and inspire the person in the same way. The same kind of thoughts, when concentrated, acquire tremendous power and light up the life of a man like magic….
