एक प्रसिद्ध साधवी हुई हैं! जवानी में वह बहुत ही खूबसूरत थी।
एक बार चोर उसे उठाकर ले गए और एक वेश्या के कोठे पर ले जाकर उसे बेच दिया।
अब उसे वही कार्य करना था जो वहाँ की बाक़ी औरतें करती थी।
इस नए घर में पहली रात को उसके पास एक आदमी लाया गया। उसने तुरन्त बातचीत शुरू कर दी।
“आप जैसे भले आदमी को देखकर मेरा दिल बहुत खुश है” वह बोली।
आप सामने पड़ी कुर्सी पर बैठ जायें , मैं थोड़ी देर परमात्मा की याद में बैठ लूँ।
अगर आप चाहें तो आप भी परमात्मा की याद में बैठ जाएँ।
यह सुनकर उस नौजवान की हैरानी की कोई हद न रही। वह भी उस औरत के साथ धरती पर ही बैठ गया।
फिर वह उठी और बोली मुझे विश्वास है कि अगर मैं आपको याद दिला दूँ कि एक दिन हम सबको मरना है तो आप बुरा नहीं मानोगे।
आप यह भी भली भाँति समझ लें की जो पाप करने का आपके मन में चाह है, वह आपको नर्क की आग में धकेल देगा।
अब आप स्वयं ही फैसला कर लें कि आप यह पाप करके नर्क की आग में कूदना चाहते हैं, या इससे बचना चाहते हैं?
यह सुनकर नौजवान हक्का बक्का रह गया।उसने संभलकर कहा,
ऐ पवित्र औरत! तुमने तो मेरी आँखे खोल दी, जो अभी तक पाप के भयंकर नतीजे की तरफ से बंद थी मै वचन देता हूँ कि फिर कभी कोठे की तरफ कदम नही बढ़ाऊंगा।
हर रोज नए आदमी उस औरत के पास भेजे जाते। पहले दिन आये नौजवान की तरह उन सबकी जिंदगी भी पलटती गयी।
उस कोठे के मालिक को बहुत हैरानी हुई की इतनी खूबसूरत और नौजवान औरत है और एक बार आया ग्राहक दोबारा उसके पास जाने के लिए नही आता।
जबकि लोग ऐसी सुन्दर लड़कियों के दीवाने होकर उसके इर्दगिर्द घूमते है।
यह राज जानने के लिए उसने एक रात अपनी पत्नी को ऐसी जगह छुपाकर बिठा दिया, जहां से वह उस औरत के कमरे के अंदर सब कुछ देख सकती थी।
वह यह जानना चाहता था की जब कोई आदमी उस औरत के पास भेजा जाता है तो वह उसके साथ कैसे पेश आती है?
उस रात उसने देखा कि जैसे ही ग्राहक ने अंदर कदम रखा, औरत उठकर खड़ी हो गईऔरबोली,आओ भले आदमी, आपका स्वागत है।
पाप के इस घर में मुझे हमेशा याद रहता है कि परमात्मा हर जगह मौजूद है।
वह सब कुछ देखता है और जो चाहे कर सकता है।आपका इस बारे में क्या ख्याल है ?
यह सुनकर वह आदमी हक्का बक्का रह गया और उसे कुछ समझ न आया कि क्या करे क्या कहे ?
आखिर वह कुछ हिचकिचाते हुए बोला, हाँ पंडित और मौलवी भी कुछ ऐसा ही कहते हैं।
वह कहती चली गई, ‘यहाँ पाप से घिरे इस घर में, मैं कभी नही भूलती कि परमात्मा सब पाप देखता है और पूरा न्याय भी करता है।
वह हर इंसान को उसके पापों की सजा जरूर देता है। जो लोग यहाँ आकर पाप करते हैं, उसकी सजा पाते हैं।
उन्हें अनगिनत दुःख और मुसीबतें झेलनी पड़ती हैं।
मेरे भाई, हमें मनुष्य जन्म मिला है, भजन, बंदगी करने के लिए दुनिया के दुखों से हमेशा के लिए छुटकारा पाने के लिये, परमात्मा से मुलाकात करने के लिए, न की जानवरों से भी बदतर बनकर उसे बर्बाद करने के लिए।
पहले आये लोगों की तरह इस आदमी को भी उस औरत की बातों में छुपी सच्चाई का अहसास हो गया।
उसे जिंदगी में पहली बार महसूस हुआ की वह कितने घोर पाप करता रहा है और आज फिर करने जा रहा था।वह फूटफूट कर रोने लगा और औरत के पाव पर गिरकर क्षमा मांगने लगा।
औरत के शब्द इतने सहज, निष्कपट और दिल को छू लेने वाले थे कि उस कोठे के मालिक की पत्नी भी बाहर आकर अपने पापो का पश्चाताप करने लगी।
फिर उसने कहा ऐ पवित्र लड़की, तुम तो वास्तव में साधु हो। हमने कितना बड़ा पाप तुम पर लादना चाहा।
इसी वक्त इस पाप की दलदल से बाहर निकल जाओ। इस घटना ने उसकी अपनी जिंदगी को भी एक नया मोड़ दे दिया और उसने पाप की कमाई हमेशा के लिए छोड़ दी।
ईश्वर के सच्चे भक्त जहां कहीं भी हों, जिस हालात में हो, वे हमेशा मनुष्य जन्म के असली उद्देश्य की ओर इशारा करते हैं और भूले भटके जीवों को नेकी की राह पर चलने की प्रेरणा देते हैं। यह औरत कोई और नहीं महान साधु राबिया बसरी थीं।

The owner of that brothel was very surprised that there was such a beautiful and young woman and the customer who came once did not come to visit her again.
Whereas people become crazy about such beautiful girls and roam around them.
To know this secret, one night he made his wife sit in a hidden place from where she could see everything inside the woman’s room.
He wanted to know that when a man is sent to that woman, how does she behave with him?
That night he saw that as soon as the customer stepped inside, the woman stood up and said, “Come good man, you are welcome.” In this house of sin I always remember that God is present everywhere.
He sees everything and can do whatever he wants. What do you think about this?
Hearing this, the man was stunned and did not understand what to do or what to say. At last he hesitated and said, yes, Pandits and Maulvis also say something similar.
She went on to say, ‘Here in this house surrounded by sin, I never forget that God sees all sin and also judges completely. He definitely punishes every person for his sins. Those who come here and commit sins, get punished for it.
They have to face countless sorrows and troubles.
My brother, we have been given human birth to do bhajan and worship, to get rid of the sorrows of the world forever, to meet God, and not to ruin it by becoming worse than animals.
Like the people who came before, this man also realized the truth hidden in the words of that woman.
For the first time in his life, he realized what grave sins he had been committing and was going to commit again today. He started crying bitterly and fell at the feet of the woman and started asking for forgiveness.
The woman’s words were so simple, honest and heart touching that even the brothel owner’s wife came out and started repenting for her sins.
Then he said, O holy girl, you are indeed a saint. What a big sin we tried to impose on you.
Get out of this swamp of sin right now. This incident also gave a new turn to his life and he left the earnings of sin forever.
