माता भगवती जगत् जननी दुर्गा जी की साधना-उपासना के क्रम में, नवार्ण मंत्र एक ऐसा महत्त्वपूर्ण महामंत्र है। नवार्ण अर्थात नौ अक्षरों का इस नौ अक्षर के महामंत्र में नौ ग्रहों को नियंत्रित करने की शक्ति है, जिसके माध्यम से सभी क्षेत्रों में पूर्ण सफलता प्राप्त की जा सकती है और भगवती दुर्गा का पूर्ण आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया जा सकता है यह महामंत्र शक्ति साधना में सर्वोपरि तथा सभी मंत्रों-स्तोत्रों में से एक महत्त्वपूर्ण महामंत्र है। यह माता भगवती दुर्गा जी के तीनों स्वरूपों माता महासरस्वती, माता महालक्ष्मी व माता महाकाली की एक साथ साधना का पूर्ण प्रभावक बीज मंत्र है और साथ ही माता दुर्गा के नौ रूपों का संयुक्त मंत्र है और इसी महामंत्र से नौ ग्रहों को भी शांत किया जा सकता है।

नौ अक्षर वाले इस अद्भुत नवार्ण मंत्र में देवी दुर्गा की नौ शक्तियां समायी हुई है। जिसका सम्बन्ध नौ ग्रहों से भी है।
ऐं = सरस्वती का बीज मन्त्र है ।
ह्रीं = महालक्ष्मी का बीज मन्त्र है ।
क्लीं = महाकाली का बीज मन्त्र है ।
इसके साथ नवार्ण मंत्र के प्रथम बीज ” ऐं “ से माता दुर्गा की प्रथम शक्ति माता शैलपुत्री की उपासना की जाती है, जिस में सूर्य ग्रह को नियंत्रित करने की शक्ति समायी हुई है।
नवार्ण मंत्र के द्वितीय बीज ” ह्रीं “ से माता दुर्गा की द्वितीय शक्ति माता ब्रह्मचारिणी की उपासना की जाती है, जिस में चन्द्र ग्रह को नियंत्रित करने की शक्ति समायी हुई है।
नवार्ण मंत्र के तृतीय बीज ” क्लीं “ से माता दुर्गा की तृतीय शक्ति माता चंद्रघंटा की उपासना की जाती है, जिस में मंगल ग्रह को नियंत्रित करने की शक्ति समायी हुई है।

उपासना की जाती है, जिस में बुध ग्रह

नवार्ण मंत्र के षष्ठ बीज ” डा “ से माता दुर्गा की षष्ठ शक्ति माता कात्यायनी की उपासना की जाती है, जिस में शुक्र ग्रह को नियंत्रित करने की शक्ति समायी हुई है।
नवार्ण मंत्र के सप्तम बीज ” यै “ से माता दुर्गा की सप्तम शक्ति माता कालरात्रि की उपासना की जाती है, जिस में शनि ग्रह को नियंत्रित करने की शक्ति समायी हुई है।
नवार्ण मंत्र के अष्टम बीज ” वि “ से माता दुर्गा की अष्टम शक्ति माता महागौरी की उपासना की जाती है, जिस में राहु ग्रह को नियंत्रित करने की शक्ति समायी हुई है।
