हिन्दू धर्म शास्त्र के अनुसार ज्येष्ठ शुक्ल पक्ष एकादशी एवं मतान्तर से श्रावण माह में पूर्णिमा के दिन भी विविध संप्रदाय द्वारा गायत्री जयंती मनाई जाती है। माँ गायत्री को भारतीय संस्कृति की जननी कहा जाता है। हिन्दू धर्म में माँ गायत्री को सम्पूर्ण वेदो की माता कहा जाता है। इस दिन पुरे देश में गायत्री जयंती का उत्स्व मनाया जाता है।
धार्मिक मान्यताएँ
धर्म ग्रंथो में वर्णित है कि माँ गायत्री की उपासना करने वाले साधक की सारी मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण होती है एवम साधक को कभी किसी वस्तु की कमी नही होती है। गायत्री मन्त्र के जाप से प्राण, प्रजा, कीर्ति, धन, पशु, आदि का प्रतिफल प्राप्त होता है।
जो मनुष्य माँ गायत्री की विधि पूर्वक पूजा करता है उसके चारो ओर रक्षा कवच का निर्माण माँ गायत्री स्वंय करती है जिससे विप्पति के समय रक्षा होती है। योग पद्धति में माँ गायत्री मंत्र का उच्चारण किया जाता है।
गीता में भगवान कृष्ण जी ने योगरूढ़ पद्धति में इस बात का उल्लेख किया है कि मनुष्य को गायत्री तथा ॐ मन्त्र का उच्चारण करना चाहिए। वेदो एवम पुराणो के अनुसार माँ गायत्री पंचमुखी है। तात्पर्य है, यह समस्त लोक जल, वायु, अग्नि, पृथ्वी तथा आकाश के पांच तत्वों से बना है।
समस्त जीव के भीतर माँ गायत्री प्राण रूप में विद्यमान है। जिस कारण माँ गायत्री क सभी शक्तियों का आधार रूप मानी गई है। भारतीय संस्कृति का पालन करने वाले को प्रतिदिन माँ गायत्री उपासना का जाप करना चाहिए।
वेदमाता गायत्री की संक्षिप्त उत्पत्ति कथा
पुराणों में वर्णन मिलता है कि ब्रह्मा के शरीर से एक सर्वांग सुन्दर तरुणी उत्पन्न हुई, वह उनके अंग से उत्पन्न होने के कारण उनकी पुत्री हुई। इस तरुणी की सहायता से उन्होंने अपना सृष्टि निर्माण कार्य जारी रखा। इसके पश्चात् उस अकेली रूपवती युवती को देखकर उनका मन विचलित हो गया और उन्होंने उससे पत्नी के रूप में रमण किया। इस मैथुन से मैथुनी संयोगज-परमाणुमयी-पंच भौतिक-सृष्टि उत्पन्न हुई। इस कथा के अलंकारिक रूप को, रहस्यमय पहेली को न समझ कर कई व्यक्ति अपने मन में प्राचीन तथ्यों को उथली ओर अश्रद्धा की दृष्टि से देखते हैं। वे यह भूल जाते हैं कि ब्रह्मा कोई मनुष्य नहीं हैं और न उससे उत्पन्न हुई शक्ति पुत्री या स्त्री है और न पुरुष स्त्री की तरह उनके बीच समागम होता है। यह तो सृष्टि निर्माण काल के एक तथ्य को गूढ़ पहेली के रूप में अलंकारिक ढंग से प्रस्तुत करके कवि ने अपनी कलाकारिता का परिचय दिया है।
ब्रह्मा, निर्विकार परमात्मा की वह शक्ति है जो सृष्टि का निर्माण करती है इस निर्माण कार्य को चालू रखने के लिए उसकी दो भुजाएं हैं। जिसे संकल्प शक्ति तथा परमाणु शक्ति कहते हैं। संकल्प शक्ति, सतोगुण संभव है, उच्च आत्मिक तत्वों से सम्पन्न है इसलिए उसे सुकोमल, शिशु सी पवित्र-पुत्री कहा है। यही पुत्री गायत्री है। जब इस दिशा में कार्य हो चुका, चैतन्य तत्वों का निर्माण हो चुका तो ब्रह्माजी ने अपनी निर्माण शक्ति की सहायता से मैथुनी सृष्टि को-संयोगज परमाणु प्रक्रिया को, आरंभ कर दिया, तब वह स्त्री के रूप में पत्नी के रूप में कही गई, तब उसका नाम सावित्री हुआ। इस प्रकार गायत्री और सावित्री पुत्री तथा पत्नी के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुईं।
गायत्री महामंत्र और उसका अर्थ
ॐ भूर्भुव: स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो न: प्रचोदयात्
हे ईश्वर मेरे प्राणस्वरूप, दुःखनाशक, सुख स्वरूप, श्रेष्ठ, तेजस्वी, पापनाशक, देव स्वरूप, परमात्मा हम आपको अंतरात्मा में धारण करते है। आप हमारी बल, बुद्धि, विद्या को सन्मार्ग पर प्रेरित करे।
गायत्री मन्त्र जाप का महत्व
माँ गायत्री को वेदमाता कहा गया है। सर्वप्रथम इस मंत्र और माँ गायत्री देवी का वर्णन विश्वामित्र ने किया था। विश्वामित्र ने ऋग्देव में इस मन्त्र को लिखा है। यह मन्त्र माँ गायत्री को समर्पित है जो वेदो की माता है।
इस मन्त्र से आध्यात्मिक चेतना का विकास होता है। धार्मिक ग्रंथो में इसे आध्यात्मिक चेतना का स्त्रोत भी माना गया है। माँ गायत्री की महिमा चारो वेद में निहित है। ऐसी मान्यता है कि जो फल ऋग्वेद, यजुर्वेद तथा सामवेद के अध्ययन से प्राप्त होता है। गायत्री मन्त्र के जाप से एक समान फल प्राप्त होता है।
गायत्री जन्मोत्सव पूजन विधि
ब्रह्ममुहूर्त में स्नान आदि से निवृत्त होकर गायत्री मंदिर या घर के किसी भी शुद्ध पवित्र स्थान पर पीले कुशा के आसन पर सुखासन में बैठकर माँ गायत्री की प्रतिमा अथवा चित्र को स्थापित कर उनकी विधि-विधान पूर्वक पूजा करना चाहिए। माँ गायत्री पंचमुखी है जो मनुष्य के अंतरात्मा में निहित है।
पूजा-उपासना का विधि-विधान

ब्रह्म सन्ध्या👉 जो शरीर व मन को पवित्र बनाने के लिए की जाती है । इसके अंतर्गत पाँच कृत्य करने होते हैं ।
पवित्रीकरण👉 बाएँ हाथ में जल लेकर उसे दाहिने हाथ से ढँक लें एवं मंत्रोच्चारण के बाद जल को सिर तथा शरीर पर पवित्रता के भाव से छिड़क लें ।
ॐ अपवित्रः पवित्रो वा, सर्वावस्थांगतोऽपि वा ।
यः स्मरेत्पुण्डरीकाक्षं स बाह्याभ्यन्तरः शुचिः ॥
ॐ पुनातु पुण्डरीकाक्षः पुनातु पुण्डरीकाक्षः पुनातु ।
आचमन👉 वाणी, मन व अंतःकरण की शुद्धि के लिए चम्मच से तीन बार जल का आचमन करें । हर मंत्र के साथ एक-एक आचमन करें ।
ॐ अमृतोपस्तरणमसि स्वाहा ।
ॐ अमृतापिधानमसि स्वाहा ।
ॐ सत्यं यशः श्रीर्मयि श्रीः श्रयतां स्वाहा ।
शिखा स्पर्श एवं वंदन👉 शिखा के स्थान को स्पर्श करते हुए भावना करें कि गायत्री के इस प्रतीक के माध्यम से सदा सद्विचार ही यहाँ स्थापित रहेंगे । निम्न मंत्र का उच्चारण करें ।
ॐ चिद्रूपिणि महामाये, दिव्यतेजः समन्विते ।
तिष्ठ देवि शिखामध्ये, तेजोवृद्धिं कुरुष्व मे ॥
प्राणायाम👉 श्वास को धीमी गति से गहरी खींचकर रोकना व बाहर निकालना प्राणायाम के क्रम में आता है । श्वास खींचने के साथ भावना करें कि प्राण शक्ति, श्रेष्ठता श्वास के द्वारा अंदर खींची जा रही है, छोड़ते समय यह भावना करें कि हमारे दुर्गुण, दुष्प्रवृत्तियाँ, बुरे विचार प्रश्वास के साथ बाहर निकल रहे हैं । प्राणायाम निम्न मंत्र के उच्चारण के साथ करें ।
ॐ भूः ॐ भुवः ॐ स्वः ॐ महः, ॐ जनः ॐ तपः ॐ सत्यम्। ॐ तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्। ॐ आपोज्योतीरसोऽमृतं, ब्रह्म भूर्भुवः स्वः ॐ।
न्यास👉 इसका प्रयोजन है- शरीर के सभी महत्त्वपूर्ण अंगों में पवित्रता का समावेश तथा अंतः की चेतना को जगाना ताकि देव-पूजन जैसा श्रेष्ठ कृत्य किया जा सके । बाएँ हाथ की हथेली में जल लेकर दाहिने हाथ की पाँचों उँगलियों को जल में भिगोकर बताए गए स्थान को हर मंत्रोच्चार के साथ स्पर्श करें।
ॐ वाङ् मे आस्येऽस्तु । (मुख को)
ॐ नसोर्मे प्राणोऽस्तु । (नासिका के दोनों छिद्रों को)
ॐ अक्ष्णोर्मे चक्षुरस्तु । (दोनों नेत्रों को)
ॐ कर्णयोर्मे श्रोत्रमस्तु । (दोनों कानों को)
ॐ बाह्वोर्मे बलमस्तु । (दोनों भुजाओं को)
ॐ ऊर्वोमे ओजोऽस्तु । (दोनों जंघाओं को)
ॐ अरिष्टानि मेऽङ्गानि, तनूस्तन्वा मे सह सन्तु । (समस्त शरीर पर)
उपरोक्त पाँचों कृत्यों का भाव यह है कि साधक में पवित्रता एवं प्रखरता की अभिवृद्धि हो तथा मलिनता-अवांछनीयता की निवृत्ति हो । पवित्र-प्रखर व्यक्ति ही भगवान के दरबार में प्रवेश के अधिकारी होते हैं ।
माँ गायत्री का आवाहन

अगर घर में पूजा कर हैं तो महाप्रज्ञा-ऋतम्भरा गायत्री का प्रतीक चित्र सुसज्जित पूजा वेदी पर स्थापित करें, वेदी पर कलश, घी का दीपक भी स्थापित करें । अब निम्न मंत्र के माध्यम से माता का आवाहन करें । भावना करें कि आपकी प्रार्थना, श्रद्धा के अनुरूप माँ गायत्री की शक्ति पूजा स्थल पर अवतरित हो रही है ।
ॐ आयातु वरदे देवि त्र्यक्षरे ब्रह्मवादिनि।
गायत्रिच्छन्दसां मातः! ब्रह्मयोने नमोऽस्तु ते॥
ॐ श्री गायत्र्यै नमः। आवाहयामि, स्थापयामि, ध्यायामि, ततो नमस्कारं करोमि।
गुरु👉 गायत्री मंत्र को गुरू मंत्र भी कहा जाता है इसलिए बिना गुरू के साधना का फल देरी से मिलने संभावना रहती हैं इसलिए साधक के जो भी गुरू हो उनकी चेतना का आवाहन उपासना की सफलता पूजा स्थल पर निम्न मंत्र से करें-
ॐ गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुः, गुरुरेव महेश्वरः।
गुरुरेव परब्रह्म, तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः॥
अखण्डमंडलाकारं, व्याप्तं येन चराचरम्।
तत्पदं दर्शितं येन, तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः॥
ॐ श्रीगुरवे नमः, आवाहयामि, स्थापयामि, ध्यायामि।
आवाहन के पश्चात् देवपूजन में घनिष्ठता स्थापित करने हेतु पंचोपचार द्वारा पूजन विधिवत् संपन्न करें- जल, अक्षत, पुष्प, धूप-दीप तथा नैवेद्य आदि पांच पदार्थ प्रतीक के रूप में माँ के समक्ष अर्पित करें ।
अब शांत चित्त बैठकर जप करें-
जप – जप प्रक्रिया कषाय-कल्मषों-कुसंस्कारों को धोने की भावने के साथ भौतिक सुख सुविधाओं की कामना के लिए की जाती है । गायत्री मंत्र का जप न्यूनतम तीन माला अर्थात् घड़ी से प्रायः 24 मिनट या 11 माला अवश्य करें । जप करते वक्त होठ हिलते रहें, किन्तु आवाज इतनी मंद हो कि पास बैठे व्यक्ति भी सुन न सकें ।

सूर्यार्घ्यदान – विसर्जन – जप समाप्ति के बाद पूजा वेदी पर रखे छोटे कलश का जल सभी मनोकामनाओं की पूर्ति के भाव से पूर्व दिशा में सूर्य भगवान को र्अघ्य रूप में निम्न मंत्र के उच्चारण के साथ चढ़ायें ।
एहि सूर्य सहस्रांशो, तेजोराशे जगत्पते।
अनुकम्पय मां भक्त्या गृहाणार्घ्यं दिवाकर॥
ॐ सूर्याय नमः, आदित्याय नमः, भास्कराय नमः॥
इतना सब करने के बाद दान स्वरूप अपनी कमाई के एक अंश कहीं दान अवश्य करें या तो गरीब कन्याओं को भोजन करायें, निश्चित ही माँ गायत्री आपकी सभी मनोकामना पूर्ण करेंगी।
गायत्री जन्मोत्सव पर क्या करें

- सूर्य पूजा करें।
- श्री आदित्यहृदय स्तोत्र का पाठ करें।

- पवित्र नदी में स्नान करें।
- धार्मिक पुस्तक का दान करें।
- इस दिन भंडारा करायें। लोगों को शीतल जल पिलायें।घर की छत पे जल से भरा पात्र रखें जिससे चिड़ियों के कंठ तृप्त हो सकें।
- सत्य बोलनें का प्रयास करें।
- फलाहार व्रत रहें।
- किसी से कटु वाणी का प्रयोग मत करें।
13 .सूर्य के बीज मन्त्र का जप आपको प्रतिष्ठा दिलाएगा। - सूर्य पिता का कारक ग्रह है। पिता का चरण स्पर्श कर आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करें।

According to Hindu religious scriptures, Gayatri Jayanti is celebrated by various sects on Jyestha Shukla Paksha Ekadashi and Matantar on full moon day in the month of Shravan. Mother Gayatri is called the mother of Indian culture. In Hindu religion, Mother Gayatri is called the mother of all Vedas. On this day the festival of Gayatri Jayanti is celebrated all over the country.
Religious Beliefs It is described in religious texts that all the wishes of the seeker who worships Mother Gayatri are fulfilled and the seeker never lacks anything. By chanting Gayatri mantra one gets the reward of life, subjects, fame, money, animals, etc.
The person who worships Mother Gayatri methodically, Mother Gayatri herself creates a protective shield around him, which protects him in times of calamity. Maa Gayatri Mantra is chanted in yoga method.
In Gita, Lord Krishna has mentioned in Yogrudh method that man should chant Gayatri and Om Mantra. According to Vedas and Puranas, Mother Gayatri is Panchmukhi. Meaning, this whole world is made of five elements of water, air, fire, earth and sky.

Brief origin of Vedmata Gayatri It is described in the Puranas that an all-round beautiful young woman was born from the body of Brahma, she became his daughter because she was born from his body. With the help of this young lady, he continued his creation work. After this, seeing that lonely beautiful girl, his mind got distracted and he took pleasure in her as his wife. Maithuni Sanyogaj-Parmaunumayi-Panch physical-creature was born from this sex. Not understanding the allegorical form of this story, the mysterious puzzle, many people look at the ancient facts in their mind with shallow and disbelief. They forget that Brahma is not a human being, nor is the Shakti born of him a daughter or a woman, nor do they have sex like a man and a woman. The poet has shown his artistry by presenting a fact of the creation period in the form of a mysterious puzzle in an ornamental way.
Brahma is the power of the impersonal God who creates the universe, he has two arms to keep this creation going. Which is called resolution power and nuclear power. Willpower, good qualities are possible, she is full of high spiritual elements, that’s why she is called Sukomal, childlike pure-daughter. This daughter is Gayatri. When work has been done in this direction, the conscious elements have been created, then Brahmaji with the help of his creation power started Maithuni Srishti – the co-synagogic nuclear process, then she was said to be a wife in the form of a woman, then Her name was Savitri. Thus Gayatri and Savitri became famous as daughter and wife.

You inspire our strength, wisdom and knowledge on the right path.
Importance of chanting Gayatri Mantra Mother Gayatri has been called Vedmata. Vishwamitra had first described this mantra and Mother Gayatri Devi. Vishwamitra has written this mantra in Rigdev. This mantra is dedicated to Mother Gayatri who is the mother of Vedas.
Spiritual consciousness develops with this mantra. In religious texts, it has also been considered as the source of spiritual consciousness. The glory of Mother Gayatri is enshrined in all the four Vedas. It is believed that the fruit that is obtained from the study of Rigveda, Yajurveda and Samveda. A similar result is obtained by chanting the Gayatri Mantra.
Gayatri Janmotsav Poojan Vidhi, after taking bath etc. in Brahmamuhurta, in Gayatri Temple or any pure holy place of the house, sitting in Sukhasana on the seat of yellow Kusha, the statue or picture of Maa Gayatri should be worshiped according to the rules and regulations. Maa Gayatri is Panchmukhi which is enshrined in the soul of man.
rituals of worship 〰 Brahma Sandhya which is done to purify the body and mind. Five acts have to be done under this.
Purification👉 Take water in your left hand and cover it with your right hand and after chanting the mantra, sprinkle the water on your head and body with a sense of purity. ॐ Whether unholy or holy, or in all circumstances. He who remembers the lotus-eyed Lord is purified both externally and internally. ॐ Punatu Pundarikaaksha Punatu Pundarikaaksha Punatu.
Aachaman👉 For the purification of speech, mind and heart, perform aachaman with water three times with a spoon. Do one aachaman with each mantra. ॐ You are the covering of nectar. ॐ Amritapidhanamasi Svaha. ॐ Truth, fame, beauty and beauty rest in me.
Shikha Sparsh and Vandan 👉 While touching the place of Shikha, feel that through this symbol of Gayatri only good thoughts will always be established here. Chant the following mantra.
ॐ O great illusion in the form of consciousness, endowed with divine effulgence. O goddess, please remain in the middle of my crest and increase my splendour.
Pranayama: Stopping and exhaling the breath at a slow pace comes in the order of Pranayama. While inhaling feel that the life force, superiority is being drawn in through the breath, while exhaling feel that our vices, vices, bad thoughts are coming out with the exhalation. Do Pranayama with the chanting of the following mantra.
Om Bhuh Om Bhuvah Om Svah Om Mahah, Om Janah Om Tapah Om Satyam. ॐ Tatsaviturvarenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhiyo Yo Nas Prachodyat. Om Apojyotirasoamritam, Brahma Bhurbhuvah Svah Om.
Trust 👉 Its purpose is to incorporate purity in all the important parts of the body and to awaken the inner consciousness so that the best act like worship of God can be done. Taking water in the palm of the left hand and soaking the five fingers of the right hand in water, touch the mentioned place with every mantra chanting.
ॐ Vaṅ me asye’stu. (to the mouth) ॐ Nasorme Prano’stu. (both nostrils) ॐ Akṣnorme chakṣurastu. (to both eyes) ॐ May the ears be my ears. (both ears) ॐ Bahvorme balamastu. (to both arms) ॐ May Ojo be in my thighs. (both thighs) ॐ May my limbs, my bodies and my bodies be with me. (on the whole body)
The meaning of the above five acts is that there should be an increase in purity and intensity in the seeker and there should be retirement of filth and unwantedness. Only pious-intense persons are entitled to enter the court of God.
Mother Gayatri’s call 〰 If you are worshiping at home, then install the symbol picture of Mahapragya-Ritambhara Gayatri on the well-furnished puja altar, also place a kalash and ghee lamp on the altar. Now invoke the mother through the following mantra. Feel that the power of Maa Gayatri is being descended at the place of worship according to your prayers and devotion.
ॐ O goddess who bestows boons, who speaks the Brahman in three syllables, come. Mother of the Gayatri Chhandas! O Brahma-yoga, I offer my obeisances unto thee. ॐ Sri Gayatri Namah. I invoke, place, meditate, and then offer obeisances.
Guru 👉 Gayatri Mantra is also called Guru Mantra, so there is a possibility of delay in getting the result of sadhna without a Guru, therefore, whoever is the Guru of the seeker, appeal to the consciousness of the success of the worship at the place of worship with the following mantra-
Om Guru is Brahma, Guru is Vishnu, Guru is Maheshwara. The teacher is the Supreme Brahman, to whom I offer my obeisances. In the form of an unbroken sphere, which pervades all moving and non-moving. Obeisance to that Sri Guru, by whom that path has been shown. OM SHRI GURUVE NAMAH, I offer my obeisances, place my offerings and meditate.
After invoking, to establish closeness in the worship of God, perform the worship according to Panchopachar – offer water, Akshat, flowers, incense-lamp and Naivedya etc. five things in front of the mother in the form of symbols.
Now chant with a calm mind- Chanting – The process of chanting is done for the desire of physical happiness and facilities with the feeling of washing away the kashay-kalmsha-bad sanskaras. Chant the Gayatri Mantra for a minimum of three rounds i.e. for 24 minutes or 11 rounds from the watch. Keep moving your lips while chanting, but the sound should be so low that even the people sitting nearby cannot hear it.

Suryarghyadan – Immersion – After the completion of chanting, offer water from the small urn kept on the worship altar to the Sun God in the east direction with the chanting of the following mantra in the form of prayer for the fulfillment of all wishes.
Come, sun, thousandfold, lord of the universe, in the brightness. O Sun have mercy on me and accept my offerings with devotion Ome to the sun, Ome to the sun, Ome to the sun.
After doing all this, do donate a part of your earnings as a donation somewhere or feed poor girls, definitely Maa Gayatri will fulfill all your wishes.
What to do on Gayatri Janmotsav 〰 Perform Havan by chanting Gayatri Mantra. Worship the Sun. Recite Shri Aditya Hridaya Stotra. Donate food. Donate jaggery and wheat. Take a bath in the holy river. Donate a religious book. Get Bhandara done on this day. Give cold water to the people. Keep a vessel full of water on the roof of the house so that the throats of the birds can be satisfied. Try to speak the truth. Keep fruit fast. Do not use harsh words with anyone. 13. Chanting the Beej Mantra of the Sun will bring you prestige. Sun is the karak planet of father. Get blessings by touching the feet of the father. 〰
