विद्वान या विद्यावान
विद्यावान गुनी अति चातुर ।
राम काज करिबे को आतुर ।।
एक होता है विद्वान और एक विद्यावान । दोनों में आपस में बहुत अन्तर है ।इसे हम ऐसे समझ सकते हैं ।रावण विद्वान है और हनुमानजी हैं विद्यावान।
रावण के दस सिर हैं और चार वेद तथा छः शास्त्र दोनों मिलाकर दस हैं ।जिसके सिर में ये दसों भरे हों, वही दस शीस है ।रावण वास्तव में विद्वान है, लेकिन विडम्बना क्या है? सीता जी का हरण करके ले आया ।कई बार विद्वान लोग अपनी विद्वता के कारण दूसरों को शान्ति से नहीं रहने देते ।उनका अभिमान दूसरों की सीता रूपी शान्ति का हरण कर लेता है और हनुमानजी ! हनुमानजी उन्हीं खोई हुई सीता रूपी शान्ति को वापस भगवान से मिला देते हैं ।यही विद्वान और विद्यावान में अन्तर है । हनुमानजी गये, रावण को समझाने। यही विद्वान और विद्यावान का मिलन है ।हनुमानजी ने कहा --
विनती करउँ जोरि कर रावन।
सुनहु मान तजि मोर सिखावन।।
हनुमानजी ने हाथ जोड़कर कहा कि मैं विनती करता हूँ ।तो क्या हनुमानजी में बल नहीं है? ऐसा नहीं है
विनती दोनों करते हैं, जो भय से भरा हो या भाव से भरा हो।रावण ने कहा कि तुम क्या, यहाँ देखो कितने लोग हाथ जोड़कर खड़े हैं ।
कर जोरे सुर दिसिप विनीता।
भृकुटि विलोकत सकल सभीता।।
देवता और दिग्पाल भय से हाथ जोड़े खड़े हैं और भृकुटि की ओर देख रहे हैं ।परंतु हनुमानजी भय से हाथ जोड़कर नहीं खड़े हैं ।
रावण ने कहा भी —
कीधौं श्रवन सुनेहि नहिं मोही।
देखउँ अति असंक सठ तोही।।
तुमने मेरे बारे में सुना नहीं है? बहुत निडर दिखता है ।हनुमानजी बोले –यह जरूरी है कि तुम्हारे सामने जो आये, वह डरता हुआ आये? रावण बोला – देख लो, यहाँ जितने देवता और अन्य खड़े हैं, वे सब डर कर खड़े हैं ।
हनुमानजी बोले –उनके डर का कारण है, वे तुम्हारी भृकुटि की ओर देख रहे हैं ।
भृकुटी विलोकत सकल सभीता। परंतु मैं भगवान राम की भृकुटि की ओर देखता हूँ ।उनकी भृकुटि कैसी है? बोले ---
भृकुटि विलास सृष्टि लय होई।
सपनेहु संकट परै कि सोई।।
जिनकी भृकुटि टेढ़ी हो जाय तो प्रलय हो जाय और उनकी ओर देखने बाले पर स्वप्न में भी संकट नहीं आता। मैं उन राम जी की भृकुटि की ओर देखता हूँ ।
रावण बोला – यह विचित्र बात है ।जब राम जी की भृकुटि की ओर देखते हो तो हाथ हमारे क्यों जोड़ रहे हो?
विनती करउँ जोरि कर रावन।
हनुमानजी बोले -यह तुम्हारा भ्रम है ।हाथ तो मैं उन्हीं को जोड़ रहा हूँ ।
रावण बोला –वे यहाँ कहाँ हैं।हनुमानजी ने कहा कि यही समझाने आया हूँ ।राम जी ने कहा था —
सो अनन्य जाकें असि
मति न टरइ हनुमन्त।
मैं सेवक सचराचर
रूप स्वामि भगवन्त।।
भगवान ने कहा कि सबमें मुझको देखना ।इसीलिए मैं तुम्हें नहीं, तुममे भी भगवान को ही देख रहा हूँ ।
इसलिए हनुमानजी कहते हैं ।
खायउँ फल प्रभु लागी भूखा। और,
सबके देह परम प्रिय स्वामी।
हनुमानजी रावण को प्रभु और स्वामी कहते हैं और रावण —
मृत्यु निकट आई खल तोही।
लागेसि अधम सिखावन मोही।।
रावण खल और अधम कहकर हनुमानजी को सम्बोधित करता है ।
यही विद्यावान का लक्षण है ।अपने को गाली देने वाले में भी जिसे भगवान दिखाई दें ।वही विद्यावान है ।विद्यावान का एक लक्षण है, कहा —
विद्या ददाति विनयं
विनयाति याति पात्रताम ।पढ़लिखकर जो विनम्र हो जाय, वह विद्यावान और जो पढ़ लिख कर अकड़ जाय, वह विद्वान।तुलसीदास जी कहते हैं –2–
बरसहिं जलद भूमि नियराये।
जथा नवहिं वुध विद्या पाये।।
बादल जल से भरने पर नीचे आ जाते हैं, जैसे विचारवान व्यक्ति विद्या पाकर विनम्र हो जाते हैं ।तो हनुमानजी हैं विनम्र और रावण है विद्वान ।
विद्वान कौन? कहा कि जिसकी दिमागी क्षमता तो बढ़ गयी परंतु दिल खराब हो।हृदय में अभिमान हो, और विद्यावान कौन? कहा कि जिसके हृदय में भगवान हो, और जो दूसरों के हृदय में भी भगवान को विठाने की बात करे।हनुमानजी ने कहा –रावण ! और तो ठीक है, पर तुम्हारा दिल ठीक नहीं है ।कैसे ठीक होगा? कहा कि —
राम चरन पंकज उर धरहू।
लंका अचल राज तुम करहू।।
अपने हृदय में राम जी को बिठा लो और फिर मजे से लंका में राज करो।तो हनुमानजी रावण के हृदय में भगवान को विठाने की बात करते हैं,इसलिए वे विद्यावान हैं।

Scholarly, very clever. Ram is eager to get his work done.
One is a scholar and the other is a scholar. There is a lot of difference between the two. We can understand it like this. Ravana is a scholar and Hanumanji is a scholar. Ravana has ten heads and four Vedas and six Shastras together make ten. The one whose head is filled with these ten heads is called Ten Shees. Ravana is indeed a scholar, but what is the irony? He kidnapped Sita ji and brought it back. Many times, scholars do not allow others to live in peace because of their scholarship. Their pride takes away the peace of others in the form of Sita and Hanumanji! Hanumanji brings back that lost peace in the form of Sita with God. This is the difference between a scholar and a scholar. Hanumanji went to convince Ravana. This is the union of the scholar and the learned. Hanumanji said –
Please please Ravana. I listen to you and teach you more. Hanumanji folded his hands and said, I request you. So doesn’t Hanumanji have the strength? It’s not like that Both of them make requests, whether filled with fear or full of emotion. Ravana said, what about you, see how many people are standing here with folded hands. Kar Jore Sur Disip Vineeta. Bhrikuti Vilokat gross allity. The gods and Digpal are standing with folded hands in fear and looking towards Bhrikuti. But Hanumanji is not standing with folded hands in fear. Ravana also said- I don’t listen to anyone, Mohi. Let’s see, ati asanka satath tohi. You haven’t heard of me? He looks very fearless. Hanumanji said – Is it necessary that whoever comes in front of you should come afraid? Ravana said – Look, all the gods and others standing here are standing in fear. Hanumanji said – The reason for their fear is that they are looking at your eyebrows.
Bhrikuti Vilokat gross allness. But I look at Lord Ram’s brow. How is his brow? Speak —
Bhrikuti Vilas creation rhythm happened. Are you dreaming or sleeping in trouble? If someone’s brows become crooked then destruction will happen and the one who looks at them does not face any trouble even in his dreams. I look at the frowning face of Ram ji. Ravana said – This is a strange thing. When you look at Ram ji’s brow, then why are you folding your hands? Please please Ravana. Hanumanji said – This is your illusion. I am folding my hands only. Ravana said – Where are they here? Hanumanji said that this is what I have come to explain. Ram ji had said – So Ananya Jaake Asi Hanumanth, don’t worry. I am a true servant Lord of form. God said to see Me in everyone. That is why I am not seeing you, I am seeing God in you too. That’s why Hanumanji says. Eat fruits, Lord, I am hungry. And, Most beloved Lord of everyone’s body. Hanumanji calls Ravana as Lord and Swami and Ravana —
Death is near. Lagesi adhaam sikhavan mohi. Ravana addresses Hanumanji by calling him Khal and Adham. This is the characteristic of a learned person. One who can see God even in someone who abuses himself is a learned person. There is a characteristic of a learned person, said — Vidya Dadati Vinayam Vinyati Yati Adhikartam. The one who becomes humble after studying is a scholar and the one who becomes arrogant after studying is a scholar. Tulsidas ji says –2– The rains bring water to the land. Jatha Navhin got Vuddha Vidya. Clouds come down when filled with water, just as thoughtful people become humble after gaining knowledge. So Hanumanji is humble and Ravana is learned. Who is the scholar? It is said that the one who has increased mental capacity but has a bad heart, has pride in his heart, and who is a scholar? Said that the one who has God in his heart, and who talks about placing God in the hearts of others too. Hanumanji said – Ravana! And that is fine, but your heart is not well. How will it be fixed? Said that- Ram Charan Pankaj Ur Dharhu. You rule Lanka immovable. Place Lord Ram in your heart and then rule Lanka happily.
