एक महात्मा थे। वे काशीमें रहते थे। उनके पास एक बिल्ली थी, वह मर गयी। महात्माने उसको लाल कपड़े में बाँधकर गङ्गाजीमें डाल दिया।
दूसरे दिन महात्मा जब ध्यान कर रहे थे, तब एक लड़की साड़ी पहने हुए उनके पास आयी और बोली ‘महात्माजी ! प्रणाम।’महात्मा- ‘बेटी! तू कौन है ?’ लड़की – ‘आपने मुझे नहीं पहचाना। मैं वही कलवाली बिल्ली हूँ। आपने दया करके मुझे गङ्गाजीमें डाल दिया था, इससे अब मैं शिवलोकको जा रही हूँ।
आपको प्रणाम करने आ गयी।’ यह कहकर लड़की अन्तर्धान हो गयी।- ‘राधा’

The next day when the Mahatma was meditating, a girl wearing a saree came to him and said ‘Mahatmaji! Greetings. ‘Mahatma-‘Daughter! who are you ?’ Girl – ‘You didn’t recognize me. I am the same Kalwali cat. You had mercifully put me in Gangaji, now I am going to Shivlok.
I have come to bow down to you. Saying this the girl disappeared. – ‘Radha’
