Madhur Kavi was born to a Samvedi Brahmin in a place called Tirukkoloor. He was a good knower of Vedas; But he thought that the knowledge of Vedas is of no value without devotion to God. He had a strong desire to attain God. One day he was roaming on the banks of the Ganges when he saw light towards the south. He saw this light for three days. Impressed by this light, they kept on walking in the same direction. On enquiring, we came to know that a yogi lives next door. He went there. He had darshan of a yogi who was in a state of samadhi in a tamarind grove near the ancient temple. He waited for his sermon, but the Yogi’s tomb did not open. Gave voice, clapped; But no answer was received. Stones were thrown at the wall of the temple, but there was no effect on the Mahatma. Compulsively, the sweet poet took courage and went near Kotar and said – ‘ Maharaj! I wanted to ask you a question. If sat-substance-(subtle conscious power) emerges inside asat (inert nature) then what will it eat and where will it rest?’ The yogi now replied- ‘He will eat that and rest there.’ The sweet poet recognized his Guru, whom he had been searching for so long. He existed in the form of Sat (Paramatma) inside this asat-body. shi 0 du 0
