सबसे अपवित्र है क्रोध

कहा जाता है कि भगवान् विश्वनाथकी पुरी काशीकी बात है। गङ्गास्नान करके एक संन्यासी घाटसे ऊपर जा रहे थे। भीड़ तो काशीमें रहती ही है, बचनेका प्रयत्न करते हुए भी एक चाण्डाल बच नहीं सका, उसका वस्त्र उन संन्यासीजीसे छू गया। अब तो संन्यासीको क्रोध आया। उन्होंने एक छोटा पत्थर उठाकर मारा चाण्डालको और डाँटा– ‘अंधा हो गया है, देखकर नहीं चलता; अब मुझे फिर स्नान करना पड़ेगा।’चाण्डालने हाथ जोड़कर कहा- ‘अपराध हो गया, क्षमा करें। रही स्नान करनेकी बात सो आप स्नान करें या न करें, मुझे तो अवश्य स्नान करना पड़ेगा।’ संन्यासीने आश्चर्यसे पूछा- ‘तुझे क्यों स्नान करना पड़ेगा ?’

चाण्डाल बोला-‘ सबसे अपवित्र महाचाण्डाल तो क्रोध है और उसने आपमें प्रवेश करके मुझे छू दिया है। मुझे पवित्र होना है उसके स्पर्शसे ।’ संन्यासीजीने लज्जासे सिर नीचा कर लिया।

It is said that Lord Vishwanath’s Puri is a matter of Kashi. After bathing in the Ganges, a monk was going up the ghat. The crowd always lives in Kashi, even while trying to escape, a Chandal could not escape, his clothes touched those monks. Now the sannyasin got angry. He picked up a small stone and hit Chandal and scolded- ‘He has become blind, he cannot walk seeing; Now I have to take a bath again.’ The Chandal folded his hands and said – ‘I have committed a crime, I am sorry. As for taking a bath, whether you take a bath or not, I will definitely have to take a bath.’ The monk asked in surprise – ‘Why do you have to take a bath?’
Chandal said-‘ The most unholy Mahachandal is anger and it has touched me by entering you. I want to be purified by his touch.’ The monk lowered his head in shame.
