भगवान शंकर और श्रीरामजी में अनन्य प्रेम है । जब-जब भगवान पृथ्वी पर अवतरित होते हैं, तब तब भोले भण्डारी भी अपने आराध्य की मनमोहिनी लीला के दर्शन के लिए पृथ्वी पर उपस्थित हो जाते हैं । भगवान शंकर एक अंश से अपने आराध्य की लीला में सहयोग करते हैं ।और दूसरे रूप में उनकी लीलाओं को देखकर मन-ही-मन प्रसन्न होते हैं।
श्रीरामावतार में भगवान शंकर अपने आराध्य के बालरूप के दर्शन के लिए श्री काकभुशुण्डि के साथ वृद्ध ज्योतिषी के रूप में अयोध्या पधारे थे ।
श्रीकृष्णावतार में भोलेबाबा बालकृष्ण के दर्शन के लिए जोगी वेष में गोकुल पधारे ।आदिशक्ति सीता जी ने जब जनकनन्दनी के रूप में सुनयना जी के अंक में जन्म लिया तो मिथिला के जन जन में उत्साह छा गया ।
मिथिलापुरी में नित नूतन महोत्सव होने लगे।उस समय भी शंकर जी तांत्रिकाचार्य बन कर जनक लली के दर्शन के लिए मिथिला आए थे।जनकलली (जानकी जी) की रुदन लीला के दर्शन के लिए भगवान शंकर के मिथिला आगमन का बहुत सुंदर वर्णन ‘‘जानकी चरितामृतम्’ में किया गया है ।
जनकलली की रुदन लीला!
आज मिथिला में राजा जनक के महल में बड़ी बैचेनी छाई हुई है । आज जनकलली का रोना ही बंद नहीं हो रहा है । कभी वे आंखें बंद कर लेती हैं तो कभी आधी खोलती हैं और कभी बेसुध सी पड़ जाती हैं, कभी हाथ-पैर पटकने लगती हैं । मां सुनयना जी बार-बार उन्हें छाती से लगा कर दूध पिलाने का प्रयास करती हैं; किंतु जनकलली की पीड़ा तो मानो शांत होने का नाम ही नहीं ले रही है ।
कोई कहता है कि बिटिया को कोई असाध्य रोग ने घेर लिया है तो कोई कहता कि यह कोई क्रूर ग्रह-बाधा है । किसी ने कहा कि जनकलली को ‘नजरदोष’ हो गया है; अत: किसी अच्छे तांत्रिक को रोग शांति के लिए बुलाया जाना चाहिए । सभी के मन में तरह तरह की आशंकाएं बलवती हो रही हैं । रनिवास की सभी स्त्रियां सुनयना जी को धीरज बंधा रही हैं।
मिथिला में यह खबर आग की तरह फैल गई कि जनकलली की तबियत आज खराब है । यह सुन कर जो जैसा था, उसी हाल में जनकमहल की ओर दौड़ पड़ा । कोई स्त्री अपने बच्चे को पालने में अकेला छोड़ कर दौड़ी चली आ रही है तो कोई दही मथ रही थी, सो दही से सने हाथों से ही जनकलली को देखने दौड़ पड़ी । कोई नंगे पैर दौड़ा तो कोई जो आंख में काजल लगा रहा था, वह एक आंख में काजल लगाए बगैर ही चल दिया । हर कोई उदास और बैचेन जनकलली को देखने के लिए शीघ्रता से जनकमहल की ओर चला जा रहा है ।
जनकलली की रुदन लीला के दर्शन के लिए
भगवान शंकर का मिथिला आगमन!
मिथिला की यह खबर जब जनकपुर वासियों के आराध्य भगवान शंकर के कानों में पड़ी तो वे भी एक सिद्ध तांत्रिक का वेष धारण कर जनकलली के दर्शन के लिए मिथिला में प्रकट हो गए । गुदड़ी लपेटे, कांपता हुआ शरीर लिए एक सिद्ध तांत्रिक मिथिला की गलियों में आवाज लगाता हुआ घूम रहा था-
‘मिथिलापुरीवासियो ! सुनो, मैं जगह जगह घूमता हुआ तुम्हारे नगर में आया हूँ । लोगों के रोग दूर करने का मैंने व्रत लिया है । मैं किसी भी नगर में एक रात से ज्यादा रुकता नहीं हूँ । रोगी को ठीक किए बिना मैं अन्न जल भी ग्रहण नहीं करता हूँ । किसी को यदि कष्ट हो तो आए और स्वास्थ्य लाभ करे।
जनकमहल में जब नगर में एक सिद्ध तांत्रिक के आने की खबर पहुंची तो महाराज जनक ने दक्षिका नाम की दासी को तांत्रिकाचार्य को बुला लाने के लिए भेजा । दासी ने तांत्रिक से कहा—‘आप शिशुओं के कष्ट दूर करने में समर्थ हैं तो चल कर महाराज की पुत्री का कष्ट दूर करें।
मन ही मन प्रसन्न होते हुए तांत्रिक (शंकर जी) दासी के साथ मिथिला के अंत:पुर में जा पहुंचे । महाराज जनक और सुनयना जी ने उनका आदरपूर्वक स्वागत किया और उन्हें जनकलली के पास ले गए । बीमार जनकलली को देख कर भगवान शंकर भावावेश में मूर्च्छित हो गए ।सुनयना जी की तो मानो ‘काटो तो खून नहीं’ वाली स्थिति हो गई।
वे विलाप करते हुए कहने लगीं
हे भगवान ! यह कौन सी बीमारी लग गई कि बच्ची का रोग दूर होना तो दूर चिकित्सा के लिए आए हुए तांत्रिक भी मूर्च्छित हो गए ।
सुनयना जी का विलाप सुन कर शंकर जी की भाव समाधि भंग हो गई और वे ‘हरि ! हरि !’ कह कर उठ बैठे। सुनयना जी की व्याकुलता देख कर तांत्रिक ने कहा-मेरी चिंता मत करो मइया । गुरुदेव की कृपा और तंत्र-मंत्र में निपुणता से मुझे कोई भी व्याधि छू भी नहीं सकती है । मैं तो अपने गुरुदेव का ध्यान कर बच्ची की व्याधि का पता लगा रहा था । आप देखती रहें, मैं कुछ ही पलों में इसका रोग दूर कर दूंगा ।’
यह कह कर तांत्रिक ने जनकलली की तीन बार परिक्रमा की और अपना सिर उनके चरणों में रख दिया । यह देख कर सुनयना जी ने चकित होकर कहा-योगीराज ! आप ऐसा करके हमें क्यों नरक मे ढकेल रहे हैं ।आप वृद्ध हैं, ब्राह्मण हैं, तंत्रज्ञ हैं, योगी हैं । इस कन्या को आशीर्वाद दें । इसके चरणों में आपका सिर स्पर्श कराना हमारी कुल की मर्यादा के विरुद्ध है ।’
यह सुन कर तांत्रिकाचार्य ने सुनयना जी को डांटते हुए कहा—अरी मइया ! यह तांत्रिक का उपचार करने का तरीका है । इसमें तुम टोकाटाकी मत करो, चुपचाप देखती रहो । आपकी कन्या कुछ ही पलों में स्वस्थ हो जाएगी और मुसकरा कर दुग्धपान करेगी ।
इसके बाद तांत्रिकाचार्य (शंकर जी) मन ही-मन
जनकलली की स्तुति करने लगे
जय जय शिशुरूपे तप्त चामी कराभे
विमल कमल नेत्रे पूर्ण शीतांशु वक्त्रे ।
निखिल भुवन जीवानन्दनि:श्रेयसे
श्रीजनकनृपति गेहे क्रीडमाने प्रसीद ।।
अर्थात्—हे शिशुरूप धारण करने वाली, तपाये हुए सोने के समान निर्मल कांति वाली तथा उज्ज्वल कमल के समान नेत्रों वाली और पूर्णचंद्र के समान मुख वाली किशोरी ! आपकी जय हो ! जय हो ! समस्त संसार के जीवों को आनंद और मंगल प्रदान करने वाली जनक जी के महल में खेलती हुई आप प्रसन्न होवें।
तांत्रिकाचार्य शंकर जी की भावपूर्ण प्रार्थना सुन कर जनकलली ने आराम से आंखें खोल दीं और प्रेमपूर्वक दुग्ध पीने लगीं। जनकमहल में खुशी की लहर दौड़ गई । महाराज जनक और सुनयना जी तांत्रिकाचार्य पर सोने, चांदी, राजकोष आदि न्यौछावर करने लगे।लेकिन शंकर जी उन्हें अस्वीकार करते हुए कहा-
‘यह सब तो मेरे पर गुरुकृपा का प्रभाव है । मुझे सोना चांदी राज और कोष आदि से क्या लेना देना ? यदि आप मुझे कुछ देना ही चाहते हैं तो इस कन्या का पहना हुआ कोई वस्त्र दे दीजिए । जब तक वह वस्त्र मेरे पास रहेगा, तब तक आपकी पुत्री के पास कोई बीमारी नहीं फटकेगी ।
सुनयना जी ने जनकलली का वस्त्र देकर तांत्रिकाचार्य के चरणों में मस्तक नवाया । तांत्रिकाचार्य जनकलली को आशीर्वाद देकर पुन: उनकी तीन परिक्रमा करते हैं और उनके चरणों से अपना सिर स्पर्श करा कर महल से चले जाते हैं ।
जनक सुता जगजननि जानकी ।
अतिसय प्रिय करुनानिधान की ।।
ताके जुग पद कमल मनावहूँ ।
जासु कृपा निरमल मति पावहूँ ।।

Whenever the Lord descends on the earth, then even the innocent Bhandaris appear on the earth to have the darshan of the lovely leela of their adoration. Lord Shankar assists in the pastimes of his adoration from one part. And seeing his pastimes in another form, he is happy in his heart.
Lord Shankar had come to Ayodhya in the form of an old astrologer along with Shri Kakbhushundi to have a glimpse of his adorable child form in Shri Ramavatar.
Bhole Baba arrived in Gokul in the form of Jogi to see Balakrishna in Sri Krishna avatar. When Adishakti Sita ji was born in Sunayana ji’s issue as Janaknandani, there was enthusiasm among the people of Mithila.
In Mithilapuri, new festivals began to take place. At that time also, Shankar ji had come to Mithila as a Tantricacharya to have the darshan of Janakli. In Charitamritam.
Weeping Leela of Janakali! Today there is a lot of restlessness in the palace of King Janak in Mithila. Today Janakali’s crying is not stopping. Sometimes they close their eyes, sometimes they open them halfway, and sometimes they become unconscious, sometimes their hands and feet start trembling. Mother Sunayana ji repeatedly tries to feed her by putting her on her chest; But the pain of Janakali is not taking the name of calming down.
Some say that some incurable disease has surrounded the daughter, while some say that it is some cruel planetary-obstacle. Somebody said that Janakali was ‘defective’; Therefore, a good tantrik should be called for healing the disease. All kinds of doubts are rising in everyone’s mind. All the ladies of Ranivas are giving patience to Sunayana ji.
The news spread like fire in Mithila that Janakali’s health is bad today. Hearing this, he ran towards Jankamahal in the same condition as he was. Some woman was running leaving her child alone in the cradle, while some were churning curd, so she ran to see Janakali with her hands soaked in curd. Some ran barefoot, while someone who was applying kajal in one eye, he walked without applying kajal in one eye. Everyone is rushing towards Jankamahal to see the sad and restless Janakali.
To see the weeping Leela of Janakali Lord Shankar’s arrival in Mithila!
When this news of Mithila fell in the ears of Lord Shankar, the beloved of the people of Janakpur, he also appeared in Mithila for the darshan of Janakali, disguised as a perfect tantrik. A Siddha tantrik, with a shuddering body, was walking in the streets of Mithila making a sound-
‘Mithilapuri people! Listen, I have come to your city, roaming from place to place. I have taken a vow to cure people’s diseases. I never stay more than a night in any city. I do not even take food or water without curing the patient. If someone is in trouble, come and get health.
When the news of the arrival of a perfect tantrik reached the city in Jankamahal, Maharaj Janak sent a maid named Dakshika to bring the tantrikacharya. The maid said to the tantrik – ‘If you are able to remove the troubles of the babies, then walk away and remove the suffering of the daughter of the Maharaj.
Being pleased with his heart, the tantrik (Shankar ji) along with the maid reached the inner city of Mithila. Maharaj Janak and Sunayana ji welcomed him respectfully and took him to Janakali. Seeing the ailing Janakali, Lord Shankar fainted in emotion. Sunayana ji’s as if there was a situation of ‘bite, no blood’.
they began to lament Oh God ! What disease did it take that if the child’s disease went away, even the tantriks who had come for medical treatment became unconscious.
Hearing the lamentation of Sunayana ji, the samadhi of Shankar ji was disturbed and he said ‘Hari! Hari!’ he said and got up. Seeing Sunayana ji’s disquiet, the tantrik said – don’t worry about me, Maya. With Gurudev’s grace and mastery of tantra-mantra, no disease can touch me. After meditating on my Gurudev, I was finding out about the child’s ailment. You keep watching, I will cure this disease in a few moments.’
Saying this the tantrik circumambulated Janakali three times and placed his head at her feet. Seeing this, Sunaina ji was surprised and said – Yogiraj! Why are you pushing us to hell by doing this. You are old, brahmin, tantric, yogi. Bless this girl. Touching your head at its feet is against the dignity of our clan.
Hearing this, the Tantricacharya scolded Sunayana ji and said – Oh myyah! This is a tantric method of healing. You don’t tokataki in this, keep watching silently. Your daughter will recover in a few moments and will smile and drink milk.
After this the tantrikacharya (Shankar ji) in his mind started praising Janakali
Jai Jai Shishurupe Tapta Chami Karabhe Her eyes were pure lotuses and her face was full of cold rays.

That is, O child-like girl, with a radiance like pure gold, with eyes like a bright lotus and a face like a full moon! We salute you ! Jai Ho ! May you be happy playing in the palace of Janak ji, who provides happiness and good luck to the creatures of the whole world.
Hearing the soulful prayer of Tantricacharya Shankar ji, Janakali comfortably opened her eyes and started drinking milk with love. A wave of happiness ran in the public palace. Maharaj Janak and Sunayana ji started sacrificing gold, silver, treasury etc. on Tantricacharya. But Shankar ji rejected them and said-
‘All this is the effect of Guru’s grace on me. What do I have to do with gold, silver, Raj and Kosh etc.? If you want to give something to me, then give me any clothes that this girl is wearing. As long as that garment is with me, your daughter will not have any disease.
Sunayana ji got her head bowed at the feet of Tantricacharya by giving Janakali’s clothes. After blessing Janakali, the Tantricacharya again circumambulates her three times and after touching his head with her feet, leaves the palace.
