स्वयं ही महाकाव्य है।
कोई कवि बन जाए
सहज संभाव्य है।”

वस्तुतः श्री राम ऐसे सांस्कृतिक प्रतीक हैं, जिनमें प्रत्येक युग अपनी समस्याओं का समाधान खोज सकता है। ‘राम नाम’ एक अमोघ मंत्र है। इसीलिए भारतीय लोक-आस्था के रोम रोम में राम बसे हैं।जन मानस के हृदय के सम्राट राम शील सौंदर्य एवं शक्ति- तीनों गुणों की पराकाष्ठा हैं।
करोड़ों कामदेवों को भी लज्जित कर देने वाले श्री राम के रूप को निरखने के लिये ब्रह्मा जी को आठ नेत्र भी कम प्रतीत होते हैं-
“निरखि राम छवि विधि हरसाने।
आठइ नयन जानि पछिताने।”
फूल सा व्यक्तित्व होते हुये भी श्रेष्ठ योद्धा हैं। निराकार व साकार दोनों रूपों में भक्तों को आकृषित करते हैं-
“एक राम दशरथ का बेटा
एक राम घट घट में बैठा।
एक राम का सकल पसारा
एक राम सब जग से न्यारा।”
श्री राम सत् चित् एवं आनन्द स्वरूप परमब्रह्म, मानवपयोगी आदर्शों की स्थापना हेतु युग युग में धरा धाम पर अवतीर्ण होते हैं। एक ही राम सर्वत्र सृष्टि में भासित हैं-
“वही राम दशरथ का बेटा
वही राम घट घट में लेटा।
वही राम है सबका प्यारा
वही राम है सबसे न्यारा।”
सूफी साधक अमीर खुसरो ने श्री राम के गुणगान में कहा है-
“तन मन का वह है मालिक
वाने दिया मेरे गोद में बालिक।”
रहीम दास जी ने राम कथा में अहिल्या प्रसंग पर लिखा है-
“भजि मन राम सियापति
रघुकुल ईश।
दीनबन्धु दुःख टारन
कोसलाधीस।”
भारतवर्ष की पावन वसुन्धरा पर प्रादुर्भूत हुये प्रायः सभी सम्प्रदायों ने अपने अपने चिन्तन-सौजन्य से श्री राम के आलौकिक मंगलकारी आदर्शमय चरित्र का निरूपण किया है।श्री सनत्कुमार संहिता में कहा गया है-
“राम: सत्यं परं ब्रह्म रामात्
किंचिन्न विद्यते।
तस्माद्रामस्य रूपोऽयं सत्यं
सत्यमिदं जगत्।”
तुलसीदास जी कहते हैं कि श्री राम के चरित्र तो सौ करोड़ अर्थात अपार हैं। श्रुति और शारदा दोनों मिल कर भी उनका गुना गान करने में असमर्थ हैं।

In fact Shri Ram is such a cultural symbol in which every era can find solutions to its problems. ‘Ram Naam’ is an infallible mantra. That’s why Ram has settled in every pore of Indian folk-faith. Ram, the king of the hearts of the people, is the culmination of all the three qualities, beauty and power.
Brahma ji seems to have less than eight eyes to see the form of Shri Ram, who puts even millions of cupids to shame. “Nirkhi Ram Chhavi Vidhi Harsane. Eight eyes will die.

Shri Ram, the Supreme Brahman in the form of Sat Chit and Anand, incarnates on earth in every age for the establishment of human useful ideals. Sufi saint Amir Khusro has said in praise of Shri Ram- He is the master of body and mind Vane diya baby in my lap.
Rahim Das ji has written on the Ahilya context in Ram Katha- “Bhaji Man Ram Siyapati Raghukul Ish. Deenbandhu Dukh Tarn Kosaladhis.”
Almost all the sects that have emerged on the holy land of India have described the supernatural auspicious ideal character of Sri Rama with their own thoughts. “Rama: Truth is the Supreme Brahman from Rama There is nothing. Therefore this form of Rama is true This is the truth of the world.
Tulsidas ji says that the characters of Shri Ram are hundred crores i.e. immense. Both Shruti and Sharda are unable to sing his praises even together.
