।। चाक्षुषी विद्या ।।
भगवान सूर्य प्राणियों की दृष्टि (देखने की) शक्ति के अधिष्ठातृ देवता हैं, इसलिए अच्छी नेत्रज्योति और नेत्ररोगों को दूर करने के लिए भगवान सूर्य की आराधना की जाती है।
नेत्ररोग दूर करने की रामबाण उपासना है भगवान सूर्य की ‘चाक्षुषी विद्या।’
चाक्षुपोनिषद् सभी प्रकार के नेत्ररोगों को शीघ्र समाप्त करने वाला और नेत्रों को तेजयुक्त करने वाला चमत्कारी मन्त्र है। यह केवल पाठ करने से ही सिद्ध हो जाता है। इसे ‘चाक्षुपोनिषद्’, ‘चक्षुष्मती विद्या’, या ‘चाक्षुषी विद्या’ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।
चक्षु का अर्थ आंख व नेत्र होता है, इसलिए ‘चाक्षुपोनिषद्’ का अर्थ है चक्षु + उपनिषद अर्थात् वेद-उपनिषद में बतायी गई नेत्र सम्बन्धी विद्या। इस मन्त्र का उल्लेख ‘कृष्णयजुर्वेद’ में है।
‘चाक्षुषी विद्या’ का प्रयोग-
रविवार के दिन प्रात: सूर्य के सामने नेत्र बंद करके खड़े या बैठ जाएं और भावना करें कि ‘मेरे समस्त नेत्ररोग दूर हो रहे हैं।’
इस तरह रविवार से शुरु कर रोजाना ‘चाक्षुपोनिषद्’ के बारह पाठ करें क्योंकि बारह आदित्य (द्वादशादित्य) बताए गए हैं। यह प्रयोग बारह रविवार तक का होता है। यदि रविवार को पुष्य या हस्त नक्षत्र हो तो पाठ आरम्भ करना शुभ होता है।
तांबे के लोटे में रोली (लाल चंदन), अक्षत, लाल कनेर पुष्प (कनेर न हो तो लाल गुड़हल या लाल गुलाब) डालकर सूर्य को अर्घ्य देकर नमस्कार कर पाठ आरम्भ करना चाहिए। रविवार के दिन सूर्यास्त से पहले बिना नमक का एक बार भोजन करना चाहिए।
इस उपाय को करने का एक अन्य तरीका है कि कांसे की चौड़ी थाली में जल भरकर उसे ऐसी जगह पर रखें जिससे उस थाली के जल में सूर्यदेव का प्रतिबिम्ब दिखायी दे। नेत्ररोगी साधक को उस थाली के सामने पूर्व की ओर मुख करके बैठना चाहिए और सूर्य प्रतिबिम्ब को देखते हुए पाठ करना चाहिए।
यदि सूर्य प्रतिबिम्ब को देखना सहन न कर सकें तो एक घी का दीपक जला लें और उसकी ज्योति को देखते हुए पाठ कर सकते हैं। पाठ पूर्ण होने पर ‘श्री सूर्याय नम:’ कहकर जल छोड़ कर सूर्यदेव को जल अर्पित कर दें। कांसे की थाली के जल को अधखुले नेत्रों में धीरे-धीरे छिड़क देने के बाद दोनों आंखें पांच मिनट तक बन्द रखें। बचा हुआ जल स्वयं पी जाएं।
मन में यह विश्वास करें कि मेरा नेत्ररोग शीघ्र ही दूर हो जाएगा- ‘मम चक्षूरोगान् शमय शमय।’
इस प्रकार उपाय करने से नेत्ररोग नाश में अद्भुत लाभ बहुत शीघ्र देखने में आता है।

विनियोग।
ॐ अस्याश्चाक्षुषी विद्याया अहिर्बुध्न्य ऋषिर्गायत्री छन्द: सूर्यो देवता चक्षू रोग निवृत्तये विनियोग:।
ॐ चक्षु: चक्षु: चक्षु: तेज: स्थिरो भव। मां पाहि पाहि। त्वरितं चक्षूरोगान् शमय शमय। मम जातरूपं तेजो दर्शय दर्शय। यथा अहम् अन्धो न स्यां तथा कल्पय कल्पय। कल्याणं कुरु कुरु। यानि मम पूर्व जन्मोपार्जितानि चक्षु:प्रतिरोधक दुष्कृतानि सर्वाणि निर्मूलय निर्मूलय।
ॐ नम: चक्षुस्तेजोदात्रे दिव्याय भास्कराय। ॐ नम: करुणाकरायामृताय। ॐ नम: सूर्याय:। ॐ नमो भगवते सूर्यायाक्षितेजसे नम:। खेचराय नम:। महते नम:। रजसे नम:। तमसे नम:। असतो मा सद्गमय। तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय। मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय। उष्णो भगवान् चक्षु शुचिरुप:। हंसो भगवान् शुचिरप्रतिरुप:।
‘चाक्षुपोनिषद्’ या ‘चाक्षुषी विद्या’ का हिन्दी अर्थ-
विनियोग।
इस चाक्षुषी विद्या के अहिर्बुध्न्य ऋषि हैं, गायत्री छन्द है, भगवान सूर्य देवता हैं, नेत्ररोग को दूर करने के लिए इसका जप होता है।
ॐ हे चक्षु के अभिमानी सूर्यदेव ! आप चक्षु में चक्षु के तेजरूप में स्थिर हो जाएं। मेरी रक्षा करें, रक्षा करें। मेरी आंख के रोगों का शीघ्र शमन करें शमन करें। मुझे अपना सुवर्ण जैसा तेज दिखला दें। जिससे मैं अंधा न होऊँ, कृपया वैसे ही उपाय करें, उपाय करें। मेरा कल्याण करें, कल्याण करें। देखने की शक्ति में बाधा करने वाले जितने भी मेरे पूर्वजन्मों में अर्जित पाप हैं, सबको जड़ से उखाड़ दें, जड़ से उखाड़ दें।
ॐ नेत्रों को तेज प्रदान करने वाले दिव्यरूप भगवान भास्कर को नमस्कार है। ॐ करुणाकर अमृतस्वरूप को नमस्कार है। ॐ भगवान सूर्य को नमस्कार है। ॐ आकाशबिहारी को नमस्कार है। परम श्रेष्ठस्वरूप को नमस्कार है। ॐ सबमें क्रियाशक्ति उत्पन्न करने वाले रजोगुणरूप भगवान सूर्य को नमस्कार है। अंधकार को अपने भीतर लीन करने वाले तमोगुण के आश्रय भगवान सूर्य को नमस्कार है। हे भगवान आप मुझको असत् से सत् की ओर ले चलिए। अंधकार से प्रकाश की ओर ले चलिए। मृत्यु से अमृत की ओर ले चलिए। उष्णस्वरूप भगवान सूर्य शुचिरूप हैं। हंसस्वरूप भगवान सूर्य के तेजोरूप की समता करने वाला कोई नहीं है।
‘चाक्षुपोनिषद्’ या ‘चाक्षुषी विद्या’ के पाठ का फल-
य इमां चाक्षुष्मती विद्यां ब्राह्मणो नित्यमधीते न तस्याक्षिरोगो भवति। न तस्य कुले अन्धो भवति। अष्टौ ब्राह्मणान् सम्यग् ग्राहयित्वा विद्या सिद्धिर्भवति। ॐ नमो भगवते आदित्याय अहोवाहिनी अहोवाहिनी स्वाहा।
इस ‘चाक्षुषी विद्या’ के श्रद्धा-विश्वासपूर्वक नित्य पाठ करने से आंखों के समस्त रोग दूर हो जाते हैं। नेत्रज्योति स्थिर रहती है। इसका नित्य पाठ करने से कुल में कोई अंधा नहीं होता। आठ ब्राह्मणों को इस विद्या का दान करने पर- इसको ग्रहण करा देने पर इस विद्या की सिद्धि होती है।
इस चाक्षुष्मती विद्या के द्वारा आराधना किए जाने पर प्रसन्न होकर भगवान सूर्य नेत्रपीड़ितों के कष्ट दूर कर उन्हें पूर्ण नेत्रज्योति प्रदान करते हैं।

।। Chakshushi Vidya.
Lord Surya is the presiding deity of the power of sight (to see) of living beings, hence Lord Surya is worshiped for good eyesight and to cure eye diseases.
The panacea to cure eye diseases is the worship of Lord Sun called ‘Chakshushi Vidya’.
Chakshuponishad is a miraculous mantra that quickly cures all types of eye diseases and makes the eyes bright. This can be proved only by reciting it. It is also known as ‘Chakshuponishad’, ‘Chakshushmati Vidya’, or ‘Chakshushi Vidya’.
Chakshu means eye and eye, so ‘Chakshuponishad’ means Chakshu + Upanishad, i.e. the science related to the eye mentioned in the Vedas and Upanishads. This mantra is mentioned in the ‘Krishna Yajurveda’.
Use of ‘Chakshushi Vidya’-
On Sunday morning, stand or sit in front of the sun with your eyes closed and feel that ‘all my eye diseases are going away.’
In this way, starting from Sunday, do twelve recitations of ‘Chakshuponishad’ daily because twelve Adityas (Dwadashadityas) have been mentioned. This experiment lasts for twelve Sundays. If there is Pushya or Hasta Nakshatra on Sunday then it is auspicious to start the lesson.
By putting Roli (red sandalwood), Akshat, red Kaner flowers (if Kaner is not available, red hibiscus or red rose) in a copper pot, one should start the recitation by offering Arghya to the Sun and offering Namaskar. One should have one meal without salt before sunset on Sunday.
Another way to do this remedy is to fill a wide bronze plate with water and keep it at such a place that the reflection of the Sun God is visible in the water of that plate. A person suffering from eye disease should sit in front of that plate facing east and should recite the prayer while looking at the sun’s reflection.
If you cannot bear to look at the sun’s reflection, then light a ghee lamp and recite while looking at its light. After completion of the recitation, leave the water saying ‘Shri Suryay Namah’ and offer it to the Sun God. After slowly sprinkling the water from the bronze plate in the half-opened eyes, keep both the eyes closed for five minutes. Drink the remaining water yourself.
Believe in your mind that my eye disease will soon be removed: ‘Mam chakshurogan shamaya shamaya.’
By taking such measures, amazing benefits in eliminating eye diseases can be seen very quickly.
।। ‘Chakshuponishad’ or ‘Chakshushi Vidya’.
Appropriation. ॐ The sage of this Chakshushi Vidya is Ahirbudhnya, the chant is Gayatri, the deity is Surya and the Vinioga is for the relief of diseases of the eyes.
Om Chaksha: Chaksha: Chaksha: Teja: Be steady. See me, see me. Quickly relieve eye diseases. Show me the splendor of my golden form. Imagine imagine that I am not blind. Do the welfare and do it. Eradicate and eradicate all the evils that I have acquired in my previous births, O eye-resistant.
Oṁ namaḥ: to the divine sun, who gives light to the eyes. Oṁ namaḥ: merciful nectar. Om Namah Suryaya. Oṁ namo bhagavate suryaya akṣitejase namaḥ. ॐ Khecharya Namah. Ome to the great. Ome to Rajase. Ome to the darkness. Do not go to the untruth. Let not the light shine out of darkness. Do not go to the immortality of death. The holy Lord is warm and has pure appearance. The divine swan is pure and incomparable.
The Hindi meaning of ‘Chakshuponishad’ or ‘Chakshushi Vidya’ is-
Appropriation. Ahirbudhnya of this Chakshushi Vidya is the sage, Gayatri is the verse, Lord is the Sun God, it is chanted to cure eye diseases.
Om Oh proud sun god of eyes! You become fixed in the eye in the form of the sharpness of the eye. Protect me, protect me. Please cure my eye diseases quickly. Show me your golden shine. So that I don’t become blind, please do the same, find solutions. Do good to me, do good to me. Uproot all the sins acquired in my previous births that are hindering my ability to see, uproot them all.
Om is a salute to the divine form of Lord Bhaskar who provides brightness to the eyes. Om is a salutation to the compassionate form of nectar. Om is a salutation to Lord Surya. Om Salutations to Akash Bihari. Salutations to the supreme supreme being. Om is a salutation to Lord Surya in the form of Rajoguna who generates the power of action in everything. Salutations to Lord Surya, who is the shelter of Tamoguna, who absorbs darkness within himself. Oh God, please take me from untruth to truth. Lead us from darkness to light. Take us from death to nectar. Lord Sun is pure in form. There is no one who can match the splendor of Lord Surya in the form of a swan.
Result of recitation of ‘Chakshuponishad’ or ‘Chakshu Vidya’-
A Brahmin who daily studies this Chakshushmati Vidya does not suffer from eye disease. He is not blind in his family. By properly understanding the eight Brahmanas, knowledge is attained. Ome Namo Bhagavate Aditya Ahovahini Ahovahini Svaha.
By reciting this ‘Chakshushi Vidya’ daily with faith and belief, all eye diseases are cured. The eyesight remains stable. By reciting it daily, no one in the family becomes blind. By donating this knowledge to eight Brahmins and making them acquire it, this knowledge is accomplished.
Lord Surya becomes pleased when worshiped through this Chakshushmati Vidya, removes the sufferings of eye sufferers and provides them with complete eyesight.
