गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी लिखित रामचरितमानस एक अनुपम ग्रंथ है जिसकी एक एक चौपाई मंत्र के समान प्रभाव रखती है। इसमें एक से बढ़कर एक आध्यात्मिक रहस्य छिपे हुए हैं जो जगत जननी माँ आदिशक्ति, प्रभु श्रीराम एवं सद्गुरु की कृपा, आशीर्वाद से ही, साधक के अंतर्मन में उद्घाटित होते हैं।
भक्त शिरोमणि पवनपुत्र हनुमान जी की प्रार्थना में कहा गया है-
अतुलितबलधामं हेमशैलाभदेहं
दनुजवनकृशानुं ज्ञानिनां अग्रगण्यम,
सकलगुणनिधानं वानराणामधीशं
रघुपति प्रियभक्तं, वातजातं नमामि।
परंतु जब बाली ने अपने भाई सुग्रीव को मारकर अपने राज्य से निकाल दिया था तो वे छिपकर ऋष्यमूक पर्वत पर रहने लगे थे, हनुमानजी भी मित्र सुग्रीव के साथ वहीं रहने लगे।
यदि हनुमानजी इतने ही अतुलितबलधामं ( महाबली) थे तो उन्हें बाली को युद्ध में हराकर सुग्रीव को राज्य दिलाना चाहिए था। पर ऐसा इसलिए नहीं कर सके क्योंकि तब तक उनका (परमात्म चेतना) प्रभु श्रीराम से कोई जुड़ाव नहीं था। वह अपना जीवन एक सामान्य वानर की तरह ही व्यतीत कर रहे थे।
जब भगवान राम-लक्ष्मण माता सीता की खोज में वन वन भटक रहे थे तो वहाँ हनुमानजी का परिचय प्रभु श्रीराम-लक्ष्मण से होता है। प्रभु श्रीराम उन्हें गुरुमंत्र इस रूप में देते हैं-
समदर्शी मोंहि कह सब कोउ।
सेवक प्रिय अनन्य गति सोउ।।
अर्थात मुझे सभी लोग समदर्शी कहते हैं, फिर भी मुझे अनन्य भाव से भजने वाला सेवक अत्यंत प्रिय है।
फिर अनन्यभाव की व्याख्या करते हुए प्रभु श्रीराम कहते हैं-
सो अनन्य जाकी असि मति न टरई हनुमंत।
मैं सेवक सचराचर रूपस्वामि भगवंत।।
अर्थात अनन्य भक्त- सेवक वह है जिसमें यह अटूट विश्वास हो, कि वह इस सृष्टि के कण कण में समाए परमात्मचेतना का सेवक है। जिसे-
सियाराममय सब जग जानी।
करहुँ प्रनामु जोरि जुग पानी।।
ही प्रतीत होता है।
शिष्य-साधक को, जब सद्गुरु से मंत्र दीक्षा प्राप्त होती है तो उसे हनुमानजी की ही तरह, ईश्वरीय चेतना से जुड़ने का, उसके अंतःकरण में दिव्यशक्ति प्रवाह के अवतरण का एक साधनामार्ग प्राप्त होता है। यह प्रारम्भ है, अध्यात्म साधना का प्रथम चरण, पहला कदम है।
हनुमानजी के जीवन में वामन से विराट होने का, दिव्यचेतना प्रवाह के अवतरण का, आत्मबोध, आत्मज्ञान का वह दूसरा चरण-
जब हनुमानजी, ऋक्ष वानरों के दल के साथ, माता सीता का पता लगाने के लिए, ढूँढते ढूँढते समुद्र तट पर पहुँच गए और उन सभी के सामने मार्ग अवरोधक, विशाल समुद्र आ गया। जटायु के भाई संपाति ने जब बताया-
मैं देखउँ तुम नाहिं, गीधहिं दृष्टि अपार।
मुझे दिखाई दे रहा है , तुम्हें नहीं क्योंकि गिद्ध की दूरदृष्टि होती है- कि समुद्र के पार लंका में माता सीता अशोकवाटिका में बैठी हुई हैं।
जब तक शिष्य- साधक को, संपाती की तरह दूरदृष्टि- दिव्यदृष्टि प्राप्त सद्गुरु का मार्गदर्शन नहीं मिलता, और शिष्य- साधक चाहे कितना ही बली क्यों न हो ? जब तक उसे सद्गुरु के वचनों पर, मार्गदर्शन पर, तर्क- वितर्क से परे,अटूट श्रद्धा- विश्वास न हो। तब तक शिष्य साधक के वामन से विराट बनने की संभावना नगण्य ही होती है।
समुद्र तट पर बैठे ऋक्ष वानरों का झुंड, सद्गुरु के शिष्यों के समूह के समान है, सद्गुरु का मार्गदर्शन सभी को प्राप्त हो रहा है, सभी यह विश्वास कर रहे हैं कि संपाति रूपी सद्गुरु सत्य कह रहे हैं कि समुद्र पार माता सीता अशोकवाटिका में विराजमान हैं। पर स्वयं पर विश्वास नहीं है, कि हम इस विशाल समुद्र को पार भी कर सकते हैं या नहीं ? देश, धर्म, संस्कृति, अपने अस्तित्व पर संकट के बादल छाए हुए हैं, सद्गुरु की दृष्टि आसन्न संकट के विषय मे सचेत कर रही है पर ?
शिष्य- साधकों का समूह ऋक्ष-वानरों की तरह इस उहापोह में स्वयं को असहाय महसूस कर रहा है कि बात तो सत्य है, पर ? इस विराट समुद्र को ? पार कैसे करें ? श्री सत्य सनातन धर्म पर छाए संकट को दूर हम भला कैसे कर सकते हैं ?
शिष्य साधक के जीवन मे पहला चरण गुरुदीक्षा- गुरुमंत्र की प्राप्ति। दूसरा चरण, सद्गुरु के वचनों, मार्गदर्शन पर अटूट श्रद्धा निष्ठा। तीसरा चरण, स्वयं पर विश्वास- आत्मविश्वास कि हाँ मैं सद्गुरु के बताए मार्ग पर चलूँगा, मैं कर सकता हूँ, मैं करूँगा। मैं ईश्वरपुत्र हूँ, मेरा जन्म ही इसी कार्य के लिए हुआ है।
जब सभी ऋक्ष- वानर इस गंभीर समस्या के समाधान में स्वयं को असहाय समझ कर चुप चाप बैठे थे। जाम्बवन्त जी बोल उठे, “मैं तो अब बूढ़ा हो गया हूँ, अन्यथा युवावस्था में जब भगवान वामन ने विराट अवतार दिखाया था तो मैंने उनकी प्रदक्षिणा कर ली थी।” पर अब ? अंगद बोल उठे, “मैं एक ओर से तो समुद्र फलाँग कर जा सकता हूँ, पर दूसरी ओर से वापस लौटने में संदेह है।” अर्थात आत्मविश्वास ५०% था। तभी, जाम्बवन्तजी की नजर हनुमानजी पर पड़ी, बोल पड़े- का चुप साध रहे बलवाना ?
राम काज लगि तव अवतारा।
सुनतहिं भयऊ पर्वताकारा।।
अट्टहास करि गर्जा, कपि बढ़ि लागि अकास।
अर्थात जैसे ही, जाम्बवन्तजी ने यह कहा कि, अरे हनुमान तुम चुप क्यों बैठे हो ? तुम्हारा तो जन्म ही, प्रभु श्रीराम के कार्य के लिए हुआ है। यह सुनते ही हनुमानजी ने भयंकर अट्टहास करते हुए गर्जना की, उनका शरीर क्षण मात्र में विशालकाय पर्वत के समान मानो आकाश को छूने लगा।
हनुमानजी के लिए वह क्षण आत्मबोध का था, आत्मज्ञान का था, दिव्यशक्ति प्रवाह के अवतरण का था, वामन से विराट होने का था, जब जाम्बवन्त ने उन्हें झकझोरते हुए कहा, “राम काज लगि तव अवतारा।”
शिष्य- साधक की अंतश्चेतना को जब सद्गुरु की वाणी बारंबार सचेत करती है, राम काज लगि तव अवतारा। राम काज लगि तव अवतारा। जिस क्षण शिष्य साधक को हनुमानजी की तरह यह आत्मबोध हो जाये ? वह वामन से विराट हो जाता है, दिव्यचेतना प्रवाह के अवतरण से बड़े बड़े संकल्प लेने लगता है, लक्ष्यप्राप्त करने के लिए तन, मन, धन न्योछावर करने लगता है।
क्योंकि वह जानता है, कि देनहार कोई और है, भेजत है दिन रैन, मैं तो निमित्त मात्र हूँ। यह कार्य तो परमात्मा का है, लक्ष्यप्राप्त करने के लिए आवश्यक ज्ञान, विद्या, बुद्धि, शक्ति,साधन, संसाधन, सब वही देंगे। आत्मबोध से आत्मविश्वास १००% हो गया, मैं कर सकता हूँ, मैं करूँगा।
दिव्यचेतना के असीम शक्तिप्रवाह का अवतरण हनुमान जी पर जब उस क्षण हुआ तो ? सुग्रीव के साथ ऋष्यमूक पर्वत पर छिप कर रहने वाले, वानरों के समूह में चुपचाप बैठे रहने वाले हनुमान गरजने लगे- “मैं लंका को गूलर के फल की भाँति समुद्र में डुबा दूँगा, रावण को कुल खानदान समेत नष्ट कर दूँगा, सीताजी को अभी वहाँ से ले आऊँगा।”
शक्तिप्रवाह सम्हाले नहीं सम्हल रहा है, हनुमान उछल रहे हैं, गर्जना कर रहे हैं। जो कार्य पहले असंभव माने बैठे थे अब लग रहा है ये तो कुछ भी नहीं है। मैं तो इसे खेल खेल में चुटकियों में कर सकता हूँ क्योंकि, “राम काज लगि मम अवतारा” जो हो गया था।
जाम्बवन्त फिर सम्हालते हैं, रोकते हैं, “नहीं नहीं ! हनुमान ऐसा कुछ नहीं करना है, केवल तुम माता सीता का पता लगा कर, प्रभु श्रीराम का संदेश देकर चले आओ।
फिर भी हनुमानजी, कंट्रोल नहीं रख पाये, अशोक वाटिका उजाड़ दिया, राक्षसों को, रावण के पुत्र अक्षयकुमार को मार दिया, लंका नगरी में आग लगाकर ही माने।
साधक- शिष्य में साधनामार्ग पर चलते हुए जब आत्मबोध होता है, “राम काज लगि मम अवतारा” तब उसके हृदय में दिव्यशक्तिप्रवाह अवतरित होता है।
वह शक्ति अनियंत्रित न हो जाये अन्यथा लक्ष्यप्राप्त न करके भटक कर विध्वंस में न लग जाये, इसलिए शिष्य साधक को तब भी, सद्गुरु के नियंत्रण, निर्देशन, मार्गदर्शन में ही कार्य करते रहना चाहिए, जब तक उस महान लक्ष्य, राम काज की प्राप्ति न हो जाये।
हनुमान जब लंकानगरी से वापस लौटे तो- ये बात उन्हें भली भाँति समझ में आ गयी थी कि जो कुछ भी हुआ उस में मेरी शक्ति काम नहीं कर रही थी, बल्कि दिव्यशक्ति प्रवाह मुझसे ये असंभव कार्य करवा रहा था।
इसीलिये जब प्रभु श्रीराम ने हनुमानजी की प्रशंसा करते हुए, उन्हें गले लगा लिया था तो हनुमान जी ने बड़ी विनम्रता से उत्तर दिया था-
साखामृग की बड़ी प्रभुताई।
साखा ते साखा पर जाई।।
अर्थात पेड़ की डालियों पर उछलने वाले वानर की क्षमता तो बस इतनी सी होती है कि वह एक डाली से दूसरी डाली पर छलाँग मारता रहता है।
नाघि सिंधु, हाटकपुर जारा।
निसिचर बध सब विपिन उजारा।।
सो सब तव प्रताप रघुराई।
अर्थात विशाल समुद्र को उछल कर पार कर लेना, सोने की लंकानगरी को जला देना, राक्षस सब को मारना, अशोक वाटिका को उजाड़ देना, प्रभु ! ये सब असंभव कार्य तो सब आप के ही दिव्यशक्ति प्रवाह के कारण सम्पन्न हुए हैं। इसमें मेरा कुछ भी श्रेय नहीं है।
जो सच्चे शिष्य हैं- साधक हैं, उन्हें हनुमानजी के इस वामन से विराट बनने के आध्यात्मिक रहस्य को मनन, चिंतन कर स्वयं को भी भक्त शिरोमणि हनुमान की तरह स्वयं को राम काज लगी मम अवतारा की भावना के साथ यह दृढ़ संकल्प लेना चाहिए- राम काज किन्हें, बिना, मोंहि कहाँ विश्राम।

Ramcharitmanas written by Goswami Tulsidas ji is a unique book, each of which has the same effect as a mantra. There are more than one spiritual secrets hidden in it, which are revealed in the heart of the seeker only by the grace and blessings of Mother Adishakti, Lord Shriram and Sadguru.
It has been said in the prayer of devotee Shiromani Pawanputra Hanuman ji-
The abode of incomparable strength, the body like a golden mountain Danujavanakrishanum jnaninam agraganyam, He is the treasure of all virtues and the lord of the monkeys I bow to the dear devotee of Raghupati, born of the wind.
But when Bali killed his brother Sugriva and expelled him from his kingdom, he started living secretly on Rishyamook mountain, Hanumanji also started living there with friend Sugriva.
If Hanumanji was such an incomparable Baladham (Great Bali), then he should have defeated Bali in the war and given the kingdom to Sugriva. But could not do so because till then he (divine consciousness) had no connection with Lord Shriram. He was spending his life like a normal monkey.
When Lord Ram-Laxman were wandering in the forest in search of Mother Sita, there Hanumanji is introduced to Lord Shriram-Laxman. Lord Shriram gives him Guru Mantra in this form-
Everyone should say Samdarshi Mohi. Servant dear sleep at unique speed.
That is, everyone calls me equanimous, yet the servant who worships me with exclusive feelings is very dear.
Then explaining the exclusiveness, Lord Shriram says-
So Ananya Jaki Asi Mati Na Terai Hanumant. I am the servant of Sachchar Roop Swami Bhagwant.
That is, an exclusive devotee-servant is the one who has this unbreakable faith that he is the servant of the divine consciousness present in every particle of this creation. whom-
Siyarammay sab jag jaani. I bow down to you for a long time.

The disciple-seeker, when he receives mantra diksha from Sadguru, he gets a spiritual path to connect with the divine consciousness, like Hanumanji, the descent of divine power flow in his heart. This is the beginning, the first phase of spiritual practice, the first step.
In Hanumanji’s life, that second phase of becoming greater than Vamana, of the descent of divine consciousness flow, self-realization, self-knowledge-
When Hanuman ji, along with the group of riksha vanaras, reached the beach in search of Mata Sita, and in front of all of them, the vast ocean came blocking the way. When Jatayu’s brother Sampati told-
I can see not you, vulture’s vision is immense.
I can see, not you because the vulture has farsightedness – that Mother Sita is sitting in Ashokavatika in Lanka across the ocean.
As long as the disciple-sadhak does not get the guidance of Sadguru who has vision-divine vision like Sampati, and no matter how strong the disciple-sadhak is? Unless he has unwavering faith and faith in the words of Sadguru, on his guidance, beyond logic and argument. Until then, the possibility of the disciple becoming Viraat from Vamana is negligible.
The herd of monkeys sitting on the beach is like a group of Sadhguru’s disciples, everyone is receiving Sadhguru’s guidance, everyone is believing that Sadhguru in the form of Sampati is telling the truth that Mother Sita is sitting across the ocean in Ashokavatika Are. But do not believe in ourselves, whether we can cross this vast ocean or not? Country, religion, culture, our existence is surrounded by crisis, Sadhguru’s vision is alerting about the impending crisis, but?
The group of disciples-seekers are feeling helpless in this dilemma like the monkeys-monkeys that it is true, but? To this vast ocean? How to cross How can we remove the crisis prevailing on Shri Satya Sanatan Dharma?
The first step in the life of a disciple-seeker is Guru Deeksha – receiving the Guru Mantra. Second phase, unwavering faith and devotion on the words and guidance of Sadhguru. The third step, self-confidence – the confidence that yes, I will follow the path shown by Sadhguru, I can, I will. I am the son of God, I was born for this work only.
When all the riksha-vanars were sitting silently considering themselves helpless in solving this serious problem. Jambavant ji said, “I have become old now, otherwise in my youth, when Lord Vaman had shown his great incarnation, I had done his pradakshina.” But now ? Angad said, “I can cross the sea from one side, but there is doubt in returning from the other side.” That is, the confidence was 50%. That’s why, Jambavantji’s eyes fell on Hanumanji, he said – why are you keeping quiet?
Ram Kaaj Lagi Tav Avatara. Sunatahin bhayau parvatakaraa।।
Attahas roared, the monkeys rose to the sky.
That is, as soon as Jambavantji said this, O Hanuman, why are you sitting silently? You were born only for the work of Lord Shriram. On hearing this, Hanuman ji roared with fierce laughter, his body started touching the sky like a huge mountain in just a moment.
For Hanumanji, it was a moment of self-realization, of self-knowledge, of the descent of divine power, of becoming greater than Vamana, when Jambavant shook him and said, “Ram kaj lagi tav avatara.”
Disciple- When Sadguru’s voice repeatedly alerts the conscience of the seeker, Ram kaj lagi tav avatara. Ram’s work is incarnated. The moment the disciple-sadhak gets this self-realization like Hanumanji? He becomes larger than Vamana, starts taking big resolutions due to the descent of divine consciousness flow, starts sacrificing body, mind and wealth to achieve the goal.
Because he knows that the giver is someone else, he sends day and night, I am just an instrument. This work is of God, necessary knowledge, education, intelligence, power, means, resources, all will be given by him to achieve the goal. Self-realization gave 100% confidence, I can do it, I will do it.
When the infinite flow of divine consciousness descended on Hanuman ji at that moment? Hanuman, who was hiding on Rishyamook mountain with Sugriva, sitting silently in the group of monkeys, started roaring – “I will drown Lanka like a sycamore fruit in the sea, I will destroy Ravana along with the whole family, Sitaji is still there. I will get it from
Shaktipravah is unable to handle, Hanuman is jumping, roaring. The tasks which were considered impossible earlier, now it seems that it is nothing. I can do it in jest while playing because, “Ram kaj lagi mam avatara” which happened.
Jambavant again takes care, stops, “No no! Hanuman don’t want to do anything like this, just find Mother Sita and go away after giving the message of Lord Shri Ram.”
Even then Hanumanji, could not control, destroyed the Ashok Vatika, killed the demons, Ravana’s son Akshaykumar, believed only by setting fire to the city of Lanka.
When a seeker-disciple attains self-realization while walking on the path of spiritual practice, “Ram kaj lagi mam avatara” then divine power flows in his heart.
That power should not become uncontrolled, otherwise it should not go astray without achieving the goal and engage in destruction, therefore the disciple should continue to work under the control, direction and guidance of the Sadguru, until that great goal, the work of Ram, is achieved. Let it happen.
When Hanuman returned from Lankanagari, he understood very well that my power was not working in whatever happened, rather the flow of divine power was making me do this impossible task.
That’s why when Prabhu Shriram praised Hanumanji and embraced him, Hanumanji replied very humbly-
Big dominance of Sakhamrig. Go from branch to branch.
That is, the ability of a monkey jumping on the branches of a tree is only that much that it keeps on jumping from one branch to another.
Naghi Sindhu, Hatakpur Zara. Nisichar badh sab vipin ujara.
So everyone is Pratap Raghurai.
That is, cross the vast sea by jumping, burn the golden city of Lanka, kill all the demons, destroy Ashok Vatika, Lord! All these impossible tasks have been accomplished because of your divine flow. I don’t have any credit in this.
Those who are true disciples – Sadhaks, they should think and reflect on the spiritual mystery of Hanumanji becoming bigger than this Vamana and take this determination with the feeling of being the incarnation of Lord Rama, like devotee Shiromani Hanuman. Who has work, without whom, where is the rest.
