Parsi religious leader Ravi Mehar had three sons. All three of them fell in the grip of epidemic and could not survive due to lack of good medicine. Meher went out at that time. Had happened When he came home in the evening, he could not see the children. He thought, maybe he must have fallen asleep. While eating, he asked his wife- ‘Is today
Did the children sleep early?’ The wife said to him without answering it – ‘Swami! The neighbors came to ask for the utensils we had taken from the neighbor yesterday.’ Meher said- ‘The utensils belonged to him, that’s why he had come to take them. Why should we be attracted to someone else’s thing?’ The wife said – ‘ You are right. I gave them those utensils.’
After the meal, the saint remembered the children again and inquired about them from his wife. Then the wife took them to the bedroom and showed the dead bodies of the three children kept under the cot. Seeing this, the saints started crying bitterly. Then the wife said – ‘Swami! You were saying just now that ‘If a person wants to take his thing, then we should give that thing and should not suffer for it, but you yourself are forgetting. Children were given by God, so they took them, then why should we mourn for them in vain?’
With these words the saint’s mind became light and he got engrossed in Bhagavad-Bhajan.
