अनन्त इच्छाएँ ही ईशकृपामें बाधक
एक फकीरके पास एक नौजवान शागिर्द (शिष्य) बननेके ख्यालसे उपस्थित हुआ। फकीर उसके साथ पानी भरनेके लिये एक बाल्टी और घड़ा लेकर कुएँपर गये। उनके हाथमें जो घड़ा था, उसे जमीनपर टिकाकर वे बाल्टी भर-भरकर पानी उसमें डालने लगे। कई बाल्टी पानी डालनेपर भी जब घड़ेमें पानी भरनेका कोई लक्षण नहीं दीखा, तब उस नौजवानसे नहीं रहा गया और उसने घड़ा उठाकर देखा उस घड़े में एक बड़ा-सा छेद था। उसने फकीरको रोका और घड़ेकी हकीकत बताने लगा। फकीर हँसा और बोला- सभी लोग यही तो कर रहे हैं। बेशुमार ख्वाहिशोंके छेदवाले घड़ोंमें अल्लाहके रहमो करमका पानी भरना चाहते हैं, और घड़ा है कि भरता ही नहीं।

Eternal desires are obstacles in God’s grace
A young man came to a fakir with the idea of becoming a shagird (disciple). The fakir went to the well with him taking a bucket and pitcher to fill water. Keeping the pitcher in his hand on the ground, he started pouring water into it with a bucket full of water. Even after pouring many buckets of water, when there was no sign of water filling in the pitcher, then that young man could not stop and he lifted the pitcher and saw that there was a big hole in that pitcher. He stopped the fakir and started telling the reality of the pot. The fakir laughed and said – this is what everyone is doing. They want to fill the water of Allah’s mercy in the pitchers full of innumerable desires, and the pitcher does not fill at all.
