अब्राहम लिंकनकी सच्चाई
अमेरिकाके राष्ट्रपति अब्राहम लिंकन बचपनमें एक चायकी दुकानमें नौकरी करते थे।
एक दिनकी बात है, मोहल्लेकी महिला लिंकनसे चाय लेने आयी। उस समय काफी भीड़-भाड़ थी। उसने लिंकनसे पावभर चाय माँगी। लिंकनने उसके द्वारा लाये हुए डिब्बेमें चाय डाल दी और पूरा पावभरका पैसा मालिकको दिया। परंतु लिंकनने आधा पाव चाय ही डाली थी और आधा पाव चाय डालना भूल गये थे। उनके नापके अनुसार एक और डिब्बा चाय डालना चाहिये था।
लिंकनको जब इस बातका ध्यान आया कि मैंने पड़ोसवाली बूढ़ी महिलाके डिब्बेमें आधा पाव चाय ही डाली है तो उन्होंने रातमें टार्च लेकर आधा पाव चाय उसके घर पहुँचायी। बूढ़ी महिला बहुत खुश हुई। वह मन-ही-मन सोच रही थी कि मुझको चाय कैसे आज कम आयी और मैं देख भी नहीं सकी, और भूल गयी।
परंतु जब उसने लिंकनकी आवाज सुनी तो उठकर आ गयी। लिंकनने कहा-‘माताजी! भीड़-भाड़में मैंने आपको कम चाय दे दी थी, इसलिये पहुँचाने आया हूँ।’ महिला खुश हो गयी और कहा- ‘तेरी सच्चाई और ईमानदारी से मैं बहुत खुश हूँ, तुम एक दिन जरूर बड़े आदमी बनोगे। सच्चाईका फल भगवान् जरूर देंगे।’ वे ही अब्राहम लिंकन अमेरिकाके राष्ट्रपति बने ।

America’s President Abraham Lincoln used to work in a tea shop in his childhood.
Once upon a time, the lady of the neighborhood came to buy tea from Lincoln. It was very crowded at that time. He asked Lincoln for a potful of tea. Lincoln put tea in the box brought by him and gave the whole loaf of money to the owner. But Lincoln had poured only half a loaf of tea and had forgotten to pour half a loaf of tea. According to his measure, another box of tea should have been poured.
When Lincoln came to notice that I had put only half a loaf of tea in the box of the neighbor’s old lady, he took a torch and took half a loaf of tea to her house at night. The old woman was very happy. She was thinking in her mind that how did I get less tea today and I could not even see, and forgot.
But when she heard Lincoln’s voice, she got up and came. Lincoln said – ‘ Mother! I had given you less tea in the crowd, so I have come to deliver it.’ The woman became happy and said- ‘I am very happy with your truthfulness and honesty, you will definitely become a big man one day. God will definitely give the fruit of truthfulness. It was Abraham Lincoln who became the President of America.
