एक साधु को एक नाविक रोज इस पार से उस पार ले जाता था, बदले मैं कुछ नहीं लेता था, वैसे भी साधु के पास पैसा कहां होता था,नाविक सरल था, पढालिखा तो नहीं, पर समझ की कमी नहीं थी। साधु रास्ते में ज्ञान की बात कहते, कभी भगवान की सर्वव्यापकता बताते , और कभी अर्थसहित श्रीमदभगवद्गीता के श्लोक सुनाते,
नाविक मछुआरा बङे ध्यान से सुनता, और बाबा की बात ह्रदय में बैठा लेता,
एक दिन उस पार उतरने पर साधु नाविक को कुटिया में ले गये, और बोले, वत्स, मैं पहले व्यापारी था, धन तो कमाया था, पर अपने परिवार को आपदा से नहीं बचा पाया था, अब ये धन मेरे किसी का काम का नहीं, तुम ले लो, तुम्हारा जीवन संवर जायेगा, तेरे परिवार का भी भला हो जाएगा।नहीं बाबाजी, मैं ये धन नही ले सकता, मुफ्त का धन घर में जाते ही आचरण बिगाड़ देगा , कोई मेहनत नहीं करेगा, आलसी जीवन लोभ लालच ,और पाप बढायेगा ।
आप ही ने मुझे ईश्वर के बारे में बताएं , मुझे तो आजकल लहरों में भी कई बार वो नजर आया,
जब मै उसकी नजर में ही हूँ, तो फिर अविश्वास क्यों करूं, मैं अपना काम करूं, और शेष उसी पर छोङ दूं।
प्रसंग तो समाप्त हो गया, पर एक सवाल छोड़ गया, इन दोनों पात्रों में साधु कौन था?
एक वो था, जिसने दुःख आया, तो भगवा पहना, संन्यास लिया, धर्म ग्रंथों का अध्ययन किया, याद किया, और समझाने लायक स्थिति में भी आ गया, फिर भी धन की ममता नहीं छोङ पाया, सुपात्र की तलाश करता रहा ।
..और दूसरी तरफ वो निर्धन नाविक , सुबह खा लिया, तो शाम का पता नहीं, फिर भी पराये धन के प्रति कोई ललक नहीं,संसार में लिप्त रहकर भी निर्लिप्त रहना आ गया, भगवा नहीं पहना, सन्यास नहीं लिया, पर उस का ईश्वरीय सत्ता में विश्वास जम गया ।
श्रीमदभगवद्गीता के श्लोक को ना केवल समझा बल्कि उन्हें व्यवहारिक जीवन में कैसे उतारना है ये सीख गया, और पल भर में धन के मोह को ठुकरा गया।

..और दूसरी तरफ वो निर्धन नाविक , सुबह खा लिया, तो शाम का पता नहीं, फिर भी पराये धन के प्रति कोई ललक नहीं,संसार में लिप्त रहकर भी, निर्लिप्त सन्यासी चाहे गृहस्थ हो, , भगवा नहीं पहना, सन्यास नहीं लिया, ईश्वरीय सत्ता में विश्वास

No Babaji, I cannot take this money, free money will spoil the behavior as soon as I go home, no one will work hard, lazy life, greed, and sin Will increase You only tell me about God, I have seen him many times in the waves these days, Why should I disbelieve when I am in His eyes, let me do my work, and leave the rest to Him. The episode ended, but a question was left, who was the sage among these two characters? There was one who, when sorrow came, then wore saffron, took sannyas, studied religious texts, memorized, and even came in a condition to be understood, still could not give up the love of wealth, kept looking for the deserving person. ..and on the other hand that poor sailor, ate in the morning, then the evening is not known, yet there is no hankering for foreign wealth, even after indulging in the world, he has come to remain detached, did not wear saffron, did not retire, but his Belief in God’s power has solidified. Not only understood the verses of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, but also learned how to apply them in practical life, and within a moment the attachment of money was rejected.
