यह प्रसंग अथर्ववेद के श्रीकृष्णोपनिषत् से उल्लखित है । श्रीकृष्ण के परिकर के रूप में किस देवता ने क्या भूमिका निभाई ?
श्रीकृष्णावतार से पहले जब भगवान ने देवताओं से पृथ्वी पर अवतीर्ण होने के लिए कहा, तब देवताओं ने कहा—‘भगवन् ! हम देवता होकर पृथ्वी पर जन्म लें, यह हमारे लिए बड़ी निंदा की बात है; परन्तु आपकी आज्ञा है, इसलिए हमें वहां जन्म लेना ही पड़ेगा । फिर भी इतनी प्रार्थना है कि हमें गोप और स्त्री के रूप में वहां उत्पन्न न करें जिससे आपके अंग-स्पर्श से वंचित रहना पड़ता हो । ऐसा मनुष्य बन कर हममें से कोई भी शरीर धारण नहीं करेगा; हमें सदा आप अपने अंगों के स्पर्श का अवसर दें, तभी हम अवतार ग्रहण करेंगे ।’
देवताओं की बात सुन कर भगवान ने कहा—‘देवताओं ! मैं तुम्हारे वचनों को पूरा करने के लिए तुम्हें अपने अंग-स्पर्श का अवसर अवश्य दूंगा ।’
भगवान विष्णु का परमानन्दमय अंश ही नन्दरायजी के रूप में प्रकट हुआ ।
साक्षात् मुक्ति देवी नन्दरानी यशोदा के रूप में अवतरित हुईं ।
भगवान की ब्रह्मविद्यामयी वैष्णवी माया देवकी के रूप में प्रकट हुई हैं और वेद ही वसुदेव बने हैं; इसलिए वे सदैव भगवान नारायण का ही स्तवन करते रहते थे ।
दया का अवतार रोहिणी माता के रूप में हुआ ।
ब्रह्म ही श्रीकृष्ण के रूप में पृथ्वी पर अवतीर्ण हुआ ।
शेषनाग बलरामजी बने ।
वेदों की ब्रह्मरूपा ऋचाएं हैं, वे गोपियों के रूप में अवतीर्ण हुईं । भगवान महाविष्णु को अत्यन्त सुन्दर श्रीराम के रूप में वन में भ्रमण करते देख कर वनवासी मुनि विस्मित हो गए और उनसे बोले—‘भगवन् ! यद्यपि हम पुनर्जन्म लेना उचित नहीं समझते तथापि हमें आपके आलिंगन की तीव्र इच्छा है । तब श्रीराम ने कहा ‘आप लोग मेरे कृष्णावतार में गोपिका होकर मेरा आलिंगन प्राप्त करोगे ।’
गोकुल साक्षात् वैकुण्ठ है । वहां स्थित वृक्ष तपस्वी महात्मा हैं ।
गोप रूप में साक्षात् श्रीहरि ही लीला-विग्रह धारण किए हुए हैं ।
ऋचाएं ही श्रीकृष्ण की गौएं हैं ।
ब्रह्मा ने श्रीकृष्ण की लकुटी का रूप धारण किया ।
रुद्र (भगवान शिव) वंशी बने ।
देवराज इन्द्र सींग (वाद्य-यंत्र) बने ।
कश्यप ऋषि नन्दबाबा के घर में ऊखल बने हैं और माता अदिति रस्सी के रूप में अवतरित हुईं जिससे यशोदाजी ने श्रीकृष्ण को बांधा था । कश्यप और अदिति ही समस्त देवताओं के माता-पिता हैं ।
भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने दूध-दही के मटके फोड़े हैं और उनसे जो दूध-दही का प्रवाह हुआ, उसके रूप में उन्होंने साक्षात् क्षीरसागर को प्रकट किया है और उस महासागर में वे बालक बन कर पहले की तरह (क्षीरसागर में) क्रीड़ा कर रहे थे ।
भक्ति देवी ने वृन्दा का रूप धारण किया ।
नारद मुनि श्रीदामा नाम के सखा बने ।
शम श्रीकृष्ण के मित्र सुदामा बने ।
सत्य ने अक्रूर का रूप धारण किया और दम उद्धव हुए ।
पृथ्वी माता सत्यभामा बनी हैं ।
सोलह हजार एक सौ आठ—रुक्मिणी आदि रानियां वेदों की ऋचाएं और उपनिषद् हैं ।
जगत के बीज रूप कमल को भगवान ने अपने हाथ में लीलाकमल के रूप में धारण किया ।
श्रीकृष्ण का जो शंख है वह साक्षात् विष्णु है तथा लक्ष्मी का भाई होने से लक्ष्मीरूप भी है ।
साक्षात् कलि राजा #कंस बना है ।
लोभ-क्रोधादि ने दैत्यों का रूप धारण किया है । द्वेष चारुण मल्ल बना; मत्सर मुष्टिक बना, दर्प ने कुवलयापीड़ हाथी का रूप धारण किया और गर्व बकासुर राक्षस के रूप में और महाव्याधि ने अघासुर का रूप धारण किया ।
गरुड़ ने भाण्डीर वट का रूप ग्रहण किया ।
भगवान के हाथ की गदा सारे शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाली साक्षात् कालिका है ।
भगवान के शांर्ग धनुष का रूप स्वयं वैष्णवी माया ने धारण किया है और काल उनका बाण बना है ।
धर्म ने चंवर का रूप लिया, वायुदेव ही वैजयन्ती माला के रूप में प्रकट हुए है, महेश्वर खड्ग बने हैं । भगवान के हाथ में सुशोभित चक्र ब्रह्मस्वरूप ही है।
सब जीवों को ज्ञान का प्रकाश देने वाली बुद्धि ही भगवान की क्रिया-शक्ति है।
इस प्रकार श्रीकृष्णावतार के समय भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने स्वर्गवासियों को तथा सारे वैकुण्ठधाम को ही भूतल पर उतार लिया था ।
इस प्रसंग को पढ़ने का माहात्म्य इस प्रकार है।
इससे मनुष्य को सभी तीर्थों के सेवन का फल प्राप्त होता है ।
मनुष्य देह के बंधन से मुक्त हो जाता है अर्थात् पुनर्जन्म नहीं होता है ।
This incident is mentioned from Sri Krishna Upanishat of Atharvaveda. Which deity played what role as Sri Krishna’s attendant?
When the Lord asked the deities to incarnate on the earth before the incarnation of Sri Krishna, the deities said – ‘Lord! We are born on earth as gods, it is a matter of great condemnation for us; But it is your order, so we have to take birth there. Still, there is so much prayer that we should not be created there in the form of cows and women, so that we have to be deprived of your touch. As such human beings, none of us will take on a body; Always give us the opportunity to touch your parts, only then we will take incarnation.
Hearing the words of the gods, the Lord said – ‘Gods! I will certainly give you the opportunity of my touch to fulfill your words.’
The blissful part of Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of Nandarai.
The goddess of liberation, Nandarani, appeared as Yashoda.
The Brahma Vidyamayi Vaishnavi Maya of the Lord has appeared in the form of Devaki and the Vedas have become Vasudeva; That is why he always used to praise Lord Narayana only.
Daya was incarnated as Rohini Mata.
Brahma himself incarnated on earth in the form of Shri Krishna.
Sheshnag became Balramji.
Brahmarupa are the hymns of the Vedas, they incarnated in the form of gopis. Seeing Lord Mahavishnu traveling in the form of very beautiful Shri Ram, the monks of the forest were astonished and said to him – ‘Lord! Although we do not consider it appropriate to take rebirth, we have a strong desire to embrace you. Then Shri Ram said, ‘You people will receive my embrace by becoming a gopika in my Krishna avatar.’
Gokul is a real Vaikuntha. The trees located there are ascetic Mahatmas.
In the gopa form, only Shri Hari is wearing a Leela-deity.
The hymns are the cows of Shri Krishna.
Brahma took the form of Shri Krishna’s Lakuti.
Rudra (Lord Shiva) became a dynasty.
Devraj Indra became the horn (instrumental instrument).
Kashyap has become euphoric in the house of sage Nandababa and Mata Aditi descended in the form of a rope to which Yashodaji had tied Sri Krishna. Kashyap and Aditi are the parents of all the gods.
Lord Shri Krishna has boiled the pots of milk and curd and the milk and curd that flowed from them, in the form of which he has manifested Kshirsagar and in that ocean he was playing as a child (in Kshirsagar) as before.
Bhakti Devi took the form of Vrinda.
Narad Muni became a friend named Sridama.
Sham became Sudama, a friend of Shri Krishna.
Satya took the form of Akrura and Dum Uddhava.
Mother Earth has become Satyabhama.
Sixteen thousand one hundred eight – Rukmini etc. The queens are the hymns of the Vedas and the Upanishads.
The Lord held the lotus in the form of the seed of the world in the form of a lilac lotus in his hand.
The conch shell of Shri Krishna is the real Vishnu and being the brother of Lakshmi, he is also the form of Lakshmi.
Actually Kali has become the king Kansa.
Greed and anger have taken the form of demons. Hate became Charun Malla; Matsar became Mushtik, Darpa took the form of Kuvalyapid elephant, proud Bakasura as the demon and Mahavyadhi took the form of Aghasur.
Garuda assumed the form of Bhandir Vat.
The mace of God’s hand is the real Kalika, the destroyer of all enemies.
Vaishnavi Maya herself has assumed the form of Lord’s long bow and Kaal has become her arrow.
Dharma has taken the form of a chamvar, Vayudev has appeared in the form of Vaijayanti garland, Maheshwar has become a khadga. The chakra adorned in the hands of the Lord is the form of Brahma.
The intellect, which gives the light of knowledge to all living beings, is the action-power of the Lord.
Thus, at the time of Shri Krishna’s incarnation, Lord Shri Krishna had brought down the people of heaven and the entire Vaikunth Dham on the ground floor.
The significance of reading this episode is as follows.
By this man gets the fruit of consuming all the pilgrimages.
Man becomes free from the bondage of the body, that is, there is no rebirth.
