आज के समय में जब छोटे-से-छोटे मंदिरों में भगवान को चांदी के पात्रों में नैवेद्य अर्पित किया जाता है, तो क्या कारण है कि साक्षात् लक्ष्मीपति, हीरे के मुकुट धारण करने वाले, नवरत्नों के आभूषण से भूषित होने वाले भगवान वेंकटेश्वर को नैवेद्य मिट्टी के पात्रों में निवेदित किया जाता है ?
भगवान किसी भी व्यक्ति से प्रेम करने के लिए उसका कुल, जाति, रूप-रंग, योग्यता-विद्वता, धन-ऐश्वर्य या चतुराई नहीं देखते; वे तो केवल उसके हृदय के भाव और अपने लिए उसका प्रेम और समर्पण देखते हैं । फिर उसकी प्रेमडोर से ऐसे उलझ जाते हैं कि उसके लिए अपने मान की भी परवाह नहीं करते; इसीलिए कहा जाता है—‘भक्त के वश में हैं भगवान।’
प्रबल प्रेम के पाले पड़ कर प्रभु को नियम बदलते देखा।
अपना मान टले टल जाए पर भक्त का मान न टलते देखा ।।
ऐसा ही एक प्रसंग भगवान वेंकटेश्वर और उनके अनन्य भक्त कुम्हार भीम का है। (कहीं पर कुम्हार का ‘भीमार’ नाम भी बताया गया है । भीम कुम्हार शब्द ही बिगड़ कर ‘भीमार’ हो गया ।)
कलियुग में दक्षिण भारत का वेंकटाचल भगवान विष्णु का नित्य निवास-स्थान है । महर्षि अगस्त्य की प्रार्थना से भगवान विष्णु ने वेंकटाचल (तिरुमाला, तिरुपति) को अपना निवास बनाया । आजकल यह स्थान ‘तिरुमाला तिरुपति देवस्थानम्’ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है।
भगवान वेंकटेश्वर का अनन्य भक्त ‘भीम’ कुम्हार और उसकी पत्नी!!!!!!
बहुत पुराने समय की बात है । वेंकटाचल के समीप कूर्मग्राम में एक कुम्हार रहता था । उसका नाम ‘भीम’ और उसकी पत्नी का नाम ‘तमालिनी’ था । दोनों ही पति-पत्नी भगवान वेंकटेश्वर के अनन्य भक्त थे। कुम्हार भीम ने अपने घर में ही मिट्टी से भगवान वेंकटेश्वर की मूर्ति व सिंहासन बना लिए थे और मिट्टी के पुष्प बनाकर उनको भगवान पर अर्पित किया करता था।
कृष्णावतार में जिस प्रकार गोपियों का मन श्रीकृष्ण में अटक गया था और श्रीकृष्ण के लिए उन्होंने अपनी सारी कामनाएं, निज-सुख छोड़ दिए, वे सब जगह श्रीकृष्ण का ही अनुभव करतीं और अपना सर्वस्व भगवान में समर्पण करके केवल उन्हीं की स्मृति रूपी धन को अपने पास रखती थीं; उसी प्रकार भीम और उसकी पत्नी सुबह उठ कर रात को सोने तक घर साफ करते हुए, खाना बनाते समय, घड़े बनाने के लिए मिट्टी जमा करते हुए, मिट्टी तैयार करते हुए, चाक चलाते हुए, घड़ों को आंच पर पकाते हुए, बाजार में बेचते समय ‘श्रीनिवास, श्रीनिवास’ ‘जै बालाजी, जै बालाजी’ नाम ही जपते रहते थे । नाम-स्मरण के सिवा उन्हें और कोई चिन्ता ही नहीं थी। गांव के लोग उनको पागल मानने लगे।
गांव के लोग उनका मजाक उड़ाते हुए कहते—‘ब्रह्मादि देवता भी जिन्हें नहीं देख पाते, उन भगवान वेंकटेश्वर को दिन-रात पुकारने से क्या होगा ? इतना समय यदि अपनी कुम्हारी में लगाओगे तो तुम लोग धनवान बन जाओगे।’
भीम कुम्हार कहता—‘हमारे बालाजी कुल, योग्यता और भोग-ऐश्वर्य नहीं देखते, वे तो केवल मनुष्य के हृदय का प्रेम और भक्ति देखते हैं।’
गांव के बाहर से आकर यदि कोई व्यक्ति भीम कुम्हार के बारे में पूछता तो गांव वाले कहते—ऐसा कोई व्यक्ति गांव में नहीं रहता; किंतु यदि कोई पूछे ‘जै बालाजी’ कहां रहता है, तो लोग तुरंत उसका पता बताते हुए मजाक में कहते ‘उस कुम्हार का नाम भीमार नही है, वह तो ‘जै बालाजी’ की बीमारी है।’
भगवान वेंकटेश्वर को नैवेद्य मिट्टी के पात्रों में क्यों निवेदित किया जाता है ?
एक बार वेंकटाचलम् पर भगवान वेंकटेश्वर का उत्सव होने वाला था, जिसके लिए धनवान लोग सोने-चांदी के पात्रों में सुन्दर-सुन्दर पकवान बना कर लाए । भीम भी अपनी पत्नी के साथ मिट्टी के घड़ों में भगवान को निवेदित करने के लिए साधारण पकवान बना कर ले गया।
भगवान वेंकटेश्वर के आगे सोने-चांदी के बर्तनों में ब्राह्मणों द्वारा मंत्रों से अभिमंत्रित पकवान सजाए गए; वहीं एक ओर कोने में भीम कुम्हार द्वारा मिट्टी के घड़ों में लाया गया साधारण भोजन रखा था । ब्राह्मणों ने उस भोजन को भगवान को निवेदित करने से मना कर दिया और उपहास करते हुए कहा—‘भगवान श्रीनिवास को क्या सोने के बर्तनों और सुन्दर पकवानों की कमी है जो वे इन मिट्टी के घड़ों में रखा रूखा-सूखा भोजन अरोगेंगे।’
भगवान पतितपावन और दीनबंधु होने के कारण दीन-हीन और पतित से भी उतना ही प्यार करते हैं जितना धनी-मानी से। भगवान उसी जीव से प्रेम करते हैं, जो उन पर विश्वास करके यह मान लेता है कि ‘मैं उनका हूँ, वे मेरे हैं’।
कुम्हार दंपत्ति चुपचाप एक कोने में खड़े होकर भगवान से प्रार्थना कर रहे थे—‘हे भगवान ! आपके पुजारीगण धनवानों को अपना कर हमें दूर हटा रहे हैं और इतने सारे लोग हमारा परिहास कर रहे हैं। आपका एक नाम भक्ति-प्रिय है। हम तो आपके नाम-स्मरण के सिवाय और कुछ नहीं जानते हैं । हमें आपको नैवेद्य अर्पित करने के लिए ब्राह्मणों और उनके मंत्रों की भी आवश्यकता नहीं है। अगर तुम सत्य हो और हमारी भक्ति सच्ची है तो मिट्टी से पैदा होने वाले अन्न का प्रसाद अरोगने वाले आप क्या मिट्टी के बर्तनों में नैवेद्य ग्रहण नहीं कर सकते हैं ?’
इस तरह प्रार्थना करते हुए कुम्हार-दंपति ब्राह्मणों के बीच से होते हुए भगवान की मूर्ति के पास पहुंच गए और अपने मिट्टी के पात्र भगवान के चरणों में रख दिए । यह देखकर धनी-मानी लोग बहुत बुरा-भला कहने लगे।
अब भगवान वेंकटेश्वर भी धर्म-संकट में पड़ गए । एक तरफ अनन्य भक्त का भक्ति से परिपूर्ण नैवेद्य और दूसरी तरफ वेद-मंत्रों से निवेदित नैवेद्य । वेद-मंत्रों का भी अतिक्रमण नहीं किया जा सकता।
भगवान ने बीच का मार्ग निकाला । आकाशवाणी हुई—‘आज से मेरा नैवेद्य निवेदन वेद-मंत्रों से अभिमंत्रित ही हो; किन्तु सब मंत्रों से ऊपर मेरे प्रिय भक्तों का हृदय है जहां मैं सदैव विराजमान रहता हूँ; इसलिए मेरे भक्त भीम कुम्हार की याद में मेरे सभी वेदमंत्र अभिमंत्रित नैवेद्य मिट्टी के बर्तनों में ही निवेदित किए जाएं।’ यह सुनकर सभी लोग बहुत आनन्दित हुए।
साक्षात् लक्ष्मीपति और व्रज (हीरे) के किरीट धारण करने वाले, नवरत्नों के आभूषण से भूषित होने वाले भगवान वेंकटेश्वर को तब से सभी अमृतमय नैवेद्य भीम की स्मृति में मिट्टी के पात्रों में ही निवेदित किए जाते हैं।
जिसे जगत (समाज, परिवार, आत्मीयजनों व मित्रों) का आधार है, उसकी भगवान से कैसी रिश्तेदारी । जिसके खाते में जगत का आधार जमा नहीं रह गया, उसी का बोझ प्रभु अपने कंधों पर ढोते हैं।
कुम्हार भीम और उसकी पत्नी को सायुज्य मुक्ति की प्राप्ति!!!!!!
उन दिनों वहां के राजा तोण्डमान भगवान वेंकटेश्वर की नित्य सुवर्ण के कमलपुष्पों से पूजा किया करते थे । वे भगवान वेंकटेश्वर (श्रीनिवास) के चचिया ससुर (पद्मावतीजी के चाचा) थे । एक दिन उन्होंने देखा कि भगवान के ऊपर मिट्टी के बने हुए कमल-पुष्प तथा तुलसीदल चढ़े हुए हैं । आश्चर्यचकित होकर राजा ने भगवान से पूछा—‘भगवन् ! ये मिट्टी के कमल और तुलसीदल चढ़ाकर कौन आपकी पूजा करता है ?’
भगवान ने कहा—‘कूर्मग्राम में एक कुम्हार मेरा अनन्य भक्त है । वह अपने घर में बैठ कर मेरी पूजा करता है और मैं उसकी प्रत्येक सेवा स्वीकार करता हूँ।’
राजा तोण्डमान उस भक्त शिरोमणि कुम्हार का दर्शन करने के लिए उसके घर गए और कहा—‘मैं तुम्हारा दर्शन करने आया हूँ । बताओ, तुम भगवान की पूजा कैसे करते हो ?’
कुम्हार ने कहा—‘महाराज ! मैं क्या जानूं, भगवान की पूजा कैसे की जाती है ? आपसे किसने कह दिया कि कुम्हार पूजा करता है ?’
राजा ने कहा—‘स्वयं भगवान वेंकटेश्वर ने तुम्हारे पूजन की बात कही है।’
राजा की बात सुनकर कुम्हार को पूर्व में भगवान वेंकटेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए वरदान की स्मृति हो आई, जिसमें भगवान ने कहा था कि ‘जब तुम्हारी की हुई पूजा प्रकाशित हो जाएगी और राजा तोण्डमान तुम्हारे घर आएंगे, उसी समय तुम्हें परमधाम की प्राप्ति हो जाएगी।’
हरि व्यापक सर्वत्र समाना ।
प्रेम तें प्रगट होंहि मैं जाना।।
तभी एक विमान जिसमें साक्षात् भगवान विष्णु विराजमान थे, आकाश से उतरा । कुम्हार की पत्नी ने भगवान को मिट्टी से बने पीढ़े पर बैठाया, मिट्टी के पात्र में ही जल और रूखा-सूखा भोजन परोस दिया । भगवान के समक्ष हाथ जोड़ कर दोनों पति-पत्नी ने कहा—‘भगवन् ! हम अत्यन्त दरिद्र हैं, जो कुछ हमारे पास है, वही आपकी सेवा में निवेदित कर रहे हैं, इसे स्वीकार कीजिए।’
भगवान वेकटेश्वर ने उस मिट्टी के पात्र में दिए गए जल व भोजन को बड़े आनन्द से ग्रहण किया।
इसके बाद कुम्हार और उसकी पत्नी ने भगवान को प्रणाम कर प्राण त्याग दिए और दिव्य रूप धारण कर विमान में बैठ कर वैकुण्ठ चले गए।
भगवान की प्राप्ति में प्रेम ही सार है और कुछ नहीं।

Falling in love with the strong love, saw the Lord changing the rules. He lost his honor, but did not see the respect of the devotee.
One such incident is of Lord Venkateswara and his exclusive devotee Kumhar Bhima. (Somewhere the name of potter is also mentioned as ‘Bhimar’. The word Bhima potter got spoiled and became ‘Bhimar’.)
Venkatachal of South India is the eternal abode of Lord Vishnu in Kali Yuga. Lord Vishnu made Venkatachala (Tirumala, Tirupati) his abode by the prayer of Maharishi Agastya. Nowadays this place is famous as ‘Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam’.
The exclusive devotee of Lord Venkateswara ‘Bhima’ the potter and his wife!!!!!!
Long time ago . There lived a potter in Kurmagram near Venkatachal. His name was ‘Bhima’ and his wife’s name was ‘Tamalini’. Both the husband and wife were the exclusive devotees of Lord Venkateswara. The potter Bhima had made the idol and throne of Lord Venkateswara out of clay in his own house and used to make clay flowers and offer them to the Lord.
Just as the mind of the gopis were stuck in Krishna in Krishna incarnation and gave up all their desires, personal pleasures for Shri Krishna, they would experience Shri Krishna everywhere and surrendering their everything to the Lord, only the wealth of his memory was given to them. held close; Similarly, Bhima and his wife get up in the morning till they sleep in the night while cleaning the house, while preparing food, collecting soil for making pots, preparing the soil, driving the wheel, cooking the pitchers on the flame, selling them in the market. At the time, the name ‘Srinivas, Srinivas’, ‘Jai Balaji, Jai Balaji’ used to be chanted. He had nothing to worry about except remembering the name. The people of the village started considering him as a madman.
The people of the village used to make fun of him and used to say – ‘What will happen by calling Lord Venkateswara day and night, whom even the gods of Brahma cannot see? If you spend this much time in your potter, you will become rich.’
Bhima the potter would say- ‘Our Balaji does not see the family, merit and enjoyment and opulence, he only sees the love and devotion of the human heart.’
If a person came from outside the village and asked about Bhima the potter, the villagers would have said – no such person lives in the village; But if someone asks where ‘Jai Balaji’ lives, people will immediately tell his address and jokingly say ‘that potter’s name is not Bhimar, he is a disease of ‘Jai Balaji’.’
Why is Lord Venkateswara offered Naivedya in earthen pots?
Once there was going to be a festival of Lord Venkateshwara at Venkatachalam, for which rich people brought beautiful dishes prepared in gold and silver vessels. Bhima also took along with his wife a simple dish prepared in earthen pots to offer to the Lord.
In front of Lord Venkateswara, in gold and silver utensils, dishes were decorated with mantras by Brahmins; On the other hand, in one corner, the ordinary food brought by Bhima the potter in earthen pots was kept. The brahmins refused to offer that food to the Lord and mockingly said- ‘What lack of golden utensils and beautiful dishes to Lord Srinivas, which he will cure dry food kept in these earthen pots.’
The Lord, being the holy and humble, loves the poor and downtrodden as much as the wealthy. God loves only that creature who believes in Him and believes that ‘I am His, He is mine’.
The potter couple were silently standing in a corner and praying to God – ‘Oh my God! Your priests are driving us away by adopting the rich and so many people are ridiculing us. One of your names is Bhakti-Priya. We do not know anything other than your name and remembrance. We don’t even need brahmins and their mantras to offer you naivedya. If you are true and our devotion is true, then can you not take naivedya in earthen pots, who offer food made from clay?
Thus praying, the potter-couple passed through the brahmins and approached the idol of the Lord and placed their earthen pots at the feet of the Lord. Seeing this, the rich people started saying bad things.
Now Lord Venkateswara also got into a crisis of religion. On the one hand the naivedya filled with devotion of the exclusive devotee and on the other hand the naivedya offered by the Vedas and mantras. Even the Vedas and Mantras cannot be transcended.
God found a middle way. There was an Akashvani – ‘From today my naivedya request should be energized by the Vedas and mantras; But above all the mantras is the heart of my dear devotees where I always reside; Therefore, in the memory of my devotee Bhima Kumhar, all my Veda mantras should be prayed in earthen pots. All the people were very happy to hear this.
Since then all the nectar of naivedyas are offered to Lord Venkateshwara, who is adorned with the ornaments of Navaratnas, who bear the crowns of Lakshmipati and Vraj (diamonds), in the memory of Bhima.
What is the relation of God to the one who is the basis of the world (society, family, relatives and friends). The Lord carries the burden of the one in whose account the foundation of the world is not deposited.
The potter Bhima and his wife attained liberation!!!!!!
In those days, King Tondaman used to worship Lord Venkateswara with lotus flowers of gold every day. He was the uncle of Lord Venkateswara (Srinivasa)’s uncle father-in-law (Padmavatiji). One day he saw that lotus flowers and tulsi dals made of clay were mounted on the Lord. Surprised, the king asked the Lord – ‘Lord! Who worships you by offering these earthen lotus and tulsi dal?’
The Lord said- ‘A potter in Kurmagram is my exclusive devotee. He worships me sitting in his house and I accept his every service.’
King Tondaman went to see that devotee Shiromani Kumhar at his house and said – ‘I have come to see you. Tell me, how do you worship God?’
The potter said- ‘Maharaj! What should I know, how to worship God? Who told you that a potter worships?’
The king said- ‘Lord Venkateswara himself has spoken about your worship.’
After listening to the king, the potter remembered the boon given by Lord Venkateswara in the past, in which the Lord had said that ‘when your worship will be published and King Tondaman will come to your house, at that time you will attain the supreme abode. ‘
Hari is universal everywhere. If love is manifest, I will go.
Then a plane in which Lord Vishnu was sitting, descended from the sky. The potter’s wife made the Lord sit on a pedestal made of clay, served water and dry food in an earthen pot. With folded hands before the Lord, both the husband and wife said – ‘Lord! We are very poor, whatever we have, we are requesting for your service, accept it.’
Lord Vekateswara accepted the water and food given in that earthen pot with great joy.
After this the potter and his wife sacrificed their lives after paying homage to the Lord and took divine form and went to Vaikuntha by sitting in the vimana.
Love is the essence in the realization of God and nothing else.
