“अरे मैय्या को तो सब पता है..।
इनको कैसे पता चला की मैं पिछले जन्मो में एक बार सूकर के रूप में ‘बारह अवतार’ ले चूका हूँ”……..!!
“मैया मै कैसा दिख रहा हूँ ???”
नन्हे कान्हा ने आकर कंधे पर एक ओर अपना सर झुकाते हुए बड़े प्यार से मैय्या यशोदा से पूंछा…।
आज सुबह सुबह ही मैय्या ने अपने लाला को नहला-धुला कर तैयार कर दिया है।
नन्हे कान्हा को पीला झबला पहनाकर सुनहरी डोर से उसे बाँध दिया है।
नन्हे नन्हे पैरों में पायल और हाथों में बाजूबंद पहना दिए हैं।
घुंगराले बालों पर एक चोटी बाँध कर उस पर सुन्दर मोरमुकुट भी सजा दिया है।
कमर पर सोने की करधनी बांधी है, और मस्तक पर कस्तूरी-चन्दन का सुन्दर तिलक लगा दिया है।
मैय्या ने जैसे ही कान्हा के विशाल नैनो में काज़ल लगा कर हाँथ में उनकी मुरली थमाई की कान्हा ने गज़ब कर दिया।
कान्हा भागते हुए आगन में गए और ज़मीन में लोट-लोट कर सारा शरीर ब्रज़-रज से धुल-धूसित कर लिया।
और हँसते हुए मैय्या यशोदा के सामने आकर खड़े हो गए।
उनके आगे की दो नन्ही-नन्ही दतुलियाँ मोटे-मोटे गालों के बीच से दिखाई दे रही हैं।
कान्हा की इस मोहिनी छवि पर ही तो सूरदास, हरिदास, रसखान, मीरा और ना जाने कितने रसिकों ने अपना सारा जीवन न्योछावर कर दिया है…।
“मैय्या….मैय्या बताओ न मै कैसा दिख रहा हूँ…???”
कान्हा ने शरारत से हँसते हुए फिर पूंछा..।
मैय्या ने आव देखा ना ताव अपनी छड़ी उठायी और उसे लेकर कान्हा के पीछे दौड़ीं…
“अभी बताती हूँ कैसा दिख रहा है।
सुबह से अपना सारा काम-काज छोड़ कर तुमे तैयार करने में लगीं हूँ और तुम बार-बार जाकर मिटटी में लोट के खड़े हो जाते हो आकर।
बाहर गोपियाँ तुम्हारी एक झलक पाने के लिए ना जाने कब से खड़ी हैं ?
और तुम तीसरी बार फिर मिटटी में लोट-पोट कर खड़े हो गए आकर।
काम तो देखो पिछले जनम के सूअर होगे, सूअर….!”
कान्हा आगे-आगे भाग रहे हैं, और मैय्या छड़ी लेकर उनके पीछे-पीछे।
कान्हा ने मैय्या की आखिरी बात सुनी तो एकदम ठिटक कर सोचने लगे…..
“अरे ! मैय्या को तो सब पता है।
इनको कैसे पता चला की मैं पिछले जन्मो में एक बार सूकर के रूप में ‘बारह-अवतार’ ले चूका हूँ।
कहीं मैय्या को मेरी सच्चाई पता तो नहीं चल गयी है।”
मैय्या कान्हा को पकड़ने ही वाली थीं की कान्हा मैय्या को फिर से मुह चिड़ा कर भाग गए…।
मैय्या दौड़ते-दौड़ते थक गयीं और बैठ कर गुस्से में अश्रु बहाने लगीं।
“मेरे हर गुनाहों को वो कुछ इस तरह धो देती है,
माँ जब बहुत गुस्से में हो तो रो देती है”
कान्हा ने आकर प्यार से मैय्या के पास आकर मैया की ठुड्डी पकड़ी और अपने नन्हे हाथों से मैया के आंसू पोछते हुए बोले….
“रूठो मत मैय्या ये सब मै तुम्हारे लिए ही तो करता हूँ।
अगर इतना सज़-धज कर मैं गोपियों के सामने जाऊँगा तो ना जाने गोपियाँ मुझे कितनी नज़र लगा देंगी।
और फिर तुम रो-रो कर मुझे कभी किसी वैध के पास तो कभी किसी बाबा के पास लेकर घूमती रहोगी।
मै तुम्हे परेशान होकर रोता हुआ नहीं देख सकता हूँ मैय्या इसीलिए बार-बार मिटटी में लोट-पोट कर सूरत बिगाड़ लेता हूँ।”
मैय्या ने कान्हा के तोतले वचन सुने तो उनका ह्रदय प्रेम से फूला न समाया।
और मैय्या ने झट से कान्हा के सर पर एक तिनका तोड़ कर उन्हें हर बुरी नज़र से बचा लिया…।
“हाय मेरे कान्हा को किसी की नज़र ना लगे”
मैया ने कान्हा को ह्रदय से लगाकर उनका माथा चूम लिया..!!

Little Kanha came and asked Maiya Yashoda with great affection, bowing his head on one side on the shoulder….
This morning, Maiya has made her Lala ready by taking a bath. Wearing a yellow shawl to little Kanha, she has tied her with a golden string.
He has worn anklets in little feet and armlets in his hands. A ponytail is tied on the curly hair and a beautiful peacock is also decorated on it. A gold girdle is tied on the waist, and a beautiful tilak of musk-sandalwood has been applied on the head.
As soon as Maiya applied kajal to Kanha’s huge Nano, Kanha stunned her by thumping her murli in her hand. Kanha ran to the fire and by rolling in the ground, his whole body was washed away with Braj-Raja.
And Laughing Maiya came and stood in front of Yashoda. In front of him, two tiny little chutneys are visible from between the thick cheeks.
Surdas, Haridas, Raskhan, Meera and so many other Rasikas have sacrificed their whole life on this illustrious image of Kanha.
“Maiyya…. tell me what am I looking like…???” Kanha laughing mischievously asked again… Maiyya did not notice that he picked up his stick and ran after Kanha with it…
“Let me tell you how it looks. Leaving all my work since morning, I have been busy preparing you and you go back and again and again and again stand in the soil after coming.
How long have the gopis been standing outside to get a glimpse of you? And for the third time you came and stood rolling in the soil again. Look at the work, there will be pigs of last birth, pigs….!”
Kanha is running back and forth, and Maiya follows him with a stick. When Kanha listened to Maiya’s last words, he immediately started thinking….. “Oho ! Maya knows everything.
How did they come to know that I had taken the ‘twelve incarnation’ in the form of a swine once in the past lives? Somewhere Maiya has not come to know about my truth. Maiya was about to catch Kanha that Kanha ran away after irritating Maiya again….
Maiya got tired of running and started shedding tears in anger. “She washes away all my sins like this,
Mother cries when she is very angry. Kanha came lovingly to Maiya and grabbed Maya’s chin and said, wiping Maya’s tears with her tiny hands….
“Don’t be upset my mother, I do all this for you only. If I go in front of the gopis with so much grace, I don’t know how much the gopis will look at me.
And then you will keep on weeping, sometimes taking me to some lawful person and sometimes to some Baba.
I can’t see you crying in trouble, that’s why I spoil my face by rolling in the soil again and again.”
When Maiya heard Kanha’s words, his heart did not swell with love.
And Maiya hurriedly broke a straw on Kanha’s head and saved him from every evil eye….
